The group of four rode upon the fifth member of their newly grown crew. They were rushing past the people on the street, and this caused them all to panic slightly. Yet when the people of the city spotted the giant hamster, they simply stopped and looked on befuddled.
The adventurer group known simply as, “Darkness,” rushed forth at incredibly speeds. Of course, this was slow for three out of the five-person group. Calvaria herself thought that they were making great pace for the speed that they were going.
After all, Hamsuke hadn’t even been to a city before, and the fact that she was navigating this complex maze of wooden structures was rather impressive. How they got here was another story.
She had used her memory magic to try and spot for certain the words and directions of the person, or rather people as she learned, that had killed the Swords of Darkness. One seemed to be named Khajiit, and the other one who had done the killing herself was named Clemintine.
Calvaria was at a loss for words on how x they were about their own pns. Clementine herself simply just spouted words, and Khajiit himself was no better. He used his spells right in front of the others. Such actions had shown his hand, at least to Calvaria.
Soon, Calvaria spotted the gates to the graveyard. The sky was dark, as it was nighttime. Yet, she could see just fine, and what she saw wasn’t good. The walls were about to be overrun by a massive horde of undead, the men atop the wall were holding back the wave by value of fearful instincts, and the high ground.
A massive horde of the undead had formed up and into a rathe rather rge undead creature whose name escapes the author at the moment. As it rose from the ground, the guards of the wall freezing in fear for but a moment, Calvaria tossed her sword like a javelin.
Now, normally this would cause the sword itself to spin out of control, yet Calvaria had thrown the bde with such force that it flew like an arrow. The point of the bde bore deep into the undead creature.
It roared in pain, then flinched and toppled backward back and into the graveyard. The guards looked at this, shell-shocked at this turn of events. They then heard the footsteps of the woman who had saved their lives.
Then lead guard assigned to man this area for this portion of the night walked to the edge of the wall and looked down. He saw her then, cd in what looked like expensive, but not exorbitantly so, armor. She had three companions, and one magical beast with her.
The night was dark, so when he went to thank her for the aid, he nearly missed the piece of metal around her neck. He stopped and squinted when he saw it. The copper glinted off of the moonlight though, and he scowled.
Seemingly forgetting the fact that she had seemingly just tossed a sword the looked like it was meant to be wielded with two hands, he shouted at them. Ninya simply looked on at him, slightly confused at his antics. Anna and Nabe felt like they should just kill him. Yet, Calvaria simply looked on, slightly bored as this pn was quickly becoming too long.
“You better get going! After all, you are only a copper pte, not even a true adventurer yet! Go and get someone who can fight these undead!” he shouted, just making Calvaria sigh in exasperation.
“I am Calvaria of the adventuring team Darkness. I am here to aid you in this dire time,” she spoke aloud, not letting her tiredness be heard.
She sighed, jumped up and over the wall, causing the guards to look up at her as she practically flew above them. Coincidentally, the undead that Calvaria had cut down was getting back up.
This was stopped by said warrior as she nded on its head and ripped out the bde that had sunk into the thing’s head, or what constituted as a head for the thing. The rest of the group followed her over the wall, Hamsuke carrying Ninya all the way as they went.
The guard simply looked on as the vaulted the wall that they were set to protect. The other two guards looked on at what was going on. The head guard who had told the team to sod off walked back over to the two other guards and set his hands on their shoulders.
“I think we have just witnessed history, of how a raven bck heroine became a hero,” he said, and the other two simply looked at him funny.
…
“Sorry, we are. Did not think this through, we did,” Hamsuke spoke form the sky, being held aloft by nabe as she kept both Ninya and Hamsuke away from the undead hoard.
Calvaria simply sighed in exasperation. This was happening a lot today. The undead hoard wasn’t attracted to her like they were to the others in her group. Naba, Anna, Ninya, and finally Hamsuke were all living beings. Calvaria was undead.
The only reason that the undead weren’t swarming Anna was floating above calvaria, and below Nabe. Calvaria looked on at the undead that were giving her space. They were simple minded things, barely even able to walk and attack. Yet, they somehow knew, in their little, tiny minds, that she was a threat.
“This is getting tiresome. We need to get there quicker,” Calvaria spoke, pointing her swords at the ground and casting a spell, “Summon undead second tier: Jack the ripper,” and, “Summon undead second tier: corpse collector,” she intoned, and two undead summons took to the field.
The two undead summons then worth forth, plunging into the undead hoard. Calvaria looked on, quite happy at this. Now, she could simply walk there and not even bother with the undead.
“My Lady, forgive my questions,” Nabe spoke up, voice strained as she struggled to not drop the fluffy and ticklish giant hamster, “but why did you not do that before?” she asked.
“I simply wanted to make sure that whoever might be watching us didn’t see me doing so and figure out our secret,” she lied, she simply hadn’t thought of it before.
While she said this, she sensed a group of presences at the edge of the graveyard. They seemed to be a group of adventures there to try and stop the undead that this Khajiit had summoned with whatever the item he was using was called.
After all, from what Darkness could gleam, or rather just Calvaria, he wasn’t actually that skilled and seemed to need this item to utilize these many undead minions.
She pointed at the ground with her bdes once more, and summoned forth some undead buzzards. They were what they said on the tin, under birds. She then sent them to go a distract the adventurers, and not to seriously harm or maim them.
…
As the quintet moved forward, moving to the location that Calvaria had sensed was filled with the most negative energy, they stopped. Anna pced a hand on the hand axe that was still upon her hip, as she had no need to use it till now. Nabe and Ninya prepared some spells, while Hamsuke simply stood back.
There, in front of the tomb that was supposed to hold the majority of the dead of the city, was a group of men in dark robes. A central figure with a bald head and a purple, obedience like rock, looked up at them. This was Khajiit.
“Ah, Khajiit I assume?” Anna said as she walked forward, “not that it matters, you’ll be dead soon,” she stated and pulled her hand axe from her belt.
“How did you know my name?!” the bald man asked, then scoffed, “it matters little. I have the Orb of Death,” he said turning to them in full.
Calvaria then rolled her shoulders, sighed in pleasure as her stiff back cracked. She then looked to the shadows where a second person hid. Pointing one of her longswords at the person, she spoke.
“You there, in the back, I believe your name was Clementine?” she said, and the cloaked woman whose hair looked like the fruit she was named after appeared from the shadows.
“Khajiit, it’s useless to pretend. They at least now that I’m here,” she said as she walked out, “though I wonder how you lot knew where we were?” she asked with a smirk.
It was then that Ninya stepped forward, and the assassin took notice of her. her smirk died on her face, and a shocked expression came to it instead. She openly gawked at what should have been a walking corpse.
“You did kill her,” Calvaria said, preparing her stance, “Yet I resurrected her for this, for revenge,” she said as she stepped forward, “now shall we fight here? or perhaps somewhere else?”
