Alex jumped up and joined Kelile at the window, “What do you think it was?” Kelile grunted in response. “There again, closer this time,” Alex whispered. Kelile grinned and looked at Alex out the side of his eye. “That was right outside the window, but I don't see anything!”
“Very good Alex,” Kelile said and walked back to his seat.
“What?!” Alex exclaimed, spinning on Kelile.
“Just giving you a little test is all,” Kelile chuckled. “Eventually you will learn to tell the differences in what you sense.”
“That wasn't funny,” Alex said grumpily as he walked back to the couch.
Kelile smiled and flipped through the channels some more, stopping on a comedy show. After a while Kellie stood and stretched. “I am going to go check everything and set up a few more triggers,” he said heading towards the door.
“Alright, I am going to head to bed then. Well, uh, there is only one room,” Alex finished.
Kelile looked at him and smiled, “ You can take the room, your majesty. I would prefer to stay out here on the couch anyway.”
Alex laughed, "Don't call me that. I still don't know if I even believe it, but thanks, I am exhausted.” Standing up and stretching Alex made his way to the bedroom and laid down. Staring at the ceiling he reflected on all that had happened in the last day and a half. I never would have thought my announcement would have opened me up to a whole new world like this, he thought to himself, yawning. Me, a prince, he chuckled to himself as he closed his eyes he relaxed into the bed and let sleep take him.
Alex woke up with a jump and looked around him, forgetting where he was for a moment. Right, not a dream, he thought to himself as he stretched. Sitting up he swung his legs out of bed and got up. Standing still he closed his eyes and pushed his sense out. Okay, going for twenty meters today, Alex thought. Opening the door he went to see if Kelile was awake yet.
Entering the living room he was surprised to see Kelile was not there. “Kelile?” Alex called, but he didn't answer. “Where is he? I can't feel him.” Alex closed his eyes and concentrated, pushing his senses out further. There, he thought. Heading towards where he felt Kelile, his hands glowing as he kept his senses pushed out. Man this is harder than I thought it would be, Alex thought as he slowly made his way through the woods.
“Alex, good morning,” Kelile greeted him.
“There you are. I didn't see you at the cabin or sense you near. So I pushed my limit out and felt you here,” Alex said proudly.
“Excellent,” Kelile said. “I want you to try and hold your senses at thirty meters.”
“Thirty?” Alex gulped. “I was thinking twenty.”
“I think thirty is doable. You are a lot stronger and more capable than you think Alex. I also want to work with you on your other abilities,” Kelile said.
“Okay, like what?” Alex asked.
“How about moving the earth?” Kelile asked.
“Oh that is easy. I have been practicing that for a while now,” Alex replied proudly.
“You need to maintain your thirty meters while doing it,” Kelile added.
“Okay, maybe not as easy,” Alex said.
Kelile’s hands began to glow as he moved his hands in front of him clenching one into a fist and the other flat, palm down. Slowly he twisted his palm to be face up while opening his fist. Alex watched his movements, then noticed what was happening before him. The ground was shifting and moving. The surface softened into pliable dirt.

“Alright, show me what you can do,” Kelile said, the glow of his hands fading. “Remember to keep your senses. I will be testing you on that while doing this.”
“So just move it around, or what exactly do you want me to do?” Alex asked.
“Show me what you have been working on. Do whatever it is you have been doing on your own. I just want to get a grasp of your skill level,” Kelile said.
“I can do that,” Alex said, walking into the middle of the dirt patch Kelile made and sat down. Closing his eyes he placed his hands by his side. Kelile watched as Alex’s hands began to glow. “Harden,” Alex whispered, as the word left his mouth a ripple moved outwards and the ground turned to rock. Alex furrowed his brow in concentration, pushing his will out as far as he could. After a moment he opened his eyes and the glow began to fade from his hands. He got up and walked to the edge of the hardened earth. “I think this is the furthest I have ever done this!” he exclaimed.
“Not bad for self training. Definitely potential for major growth,” Kelile said, pinching his chin between his thumb and finger. “What else can you do?”
“This,” Alex said, closing his eyes he whispered to himself, “make a baseball sized rock.” His hands began to glow and a rock shot up from the ground and to his hands. Opening his eyes he smiled and threw it at Kelile.
“Hummmm, okay, we definitely can work on that. What did you whisper?” Kelile asked.
“I just said to make a baseball sized rock,” Alex replied.
“Why?” Kelile questioned, tilting his head.
“I don't know. When I first discovered that I could do this it was after I had asked for something to happen. So I figured that was how I made it work,” Alex said simply.
“That makes sense I suppose especially since you were not trained like you should have been. The basic part of our ability is your will or intention behind the act,” Kelile said.
“What do you mean?” Alex asked as he walked towards Kelile.
Kelile closed his eyes and his hands flashed with light at the same time the ground that Alex had turned to stone returned to its normal state. “Your will is all you need. The earth will respond. That is the gift we have.”
Alex nodded and closed his eyes, “Okay, my will.” Alex furrowed his brow as his hands began to glow. Kelile watched as ten baseball sized stones shot up from the ground. Alex moved his hands by his sides and flexed his fingers. Opening his eyes he looked at the stones on the floor, a slight grin on his face as they started to hover.
“Not bad, but you are not maintaining your kulsom,” Kelile said.
“Crap, this is harder than I thought,” Alex frowned, closing his eyes he pushed out his senses. “How do you do both?”
“Well, like I said, it is your will or intention that the earth responds to. What you want it to do it will respond to. As for maintaining kulsom and manipulating the earth, well, I have been doing this for a very long time. I also had the privilege to be raised with our people and learn from childhood how to use and hone out gifts,” he finished.
“What was it like?” Alex asked.
“What was what like?” Kelile responded.
“The capital of the Earth Kingdom,” Alex said softly.
“Ah, it was wondrous. It was made of the earth. Carefully manipulated to absolute perfection,” Kelile replied with a distant look in his eyes. “The Earth Capital was around for hundreds of years. Carved below the surface of the planet.”
“Wait, it was underground? How are you not some kind of mole person then?” Alex asked.
“Mole person?” Kelile barked with laughter. “We don't live in darkness. Our space was as bright as it was here.”
“How is that possible,” Alex frowned.
“That I cannot explain. It was done hundreds of years ago. However, our ancestors created the great city and made it how it was. I was more into the military side of school than the sciences,” Kelile grinned.
“Man I wish I could see it,” Alex muttered. “Ow!”
“Pay attention. Even if we are talking about something else. You should always be aware.” Kelile scolded, as he watched one of the rocks bounce to the floor.
Alex frowned and closed his eyes pushing his kulsom out again, he took a deep breath. Standing, he looked at the baseball sized rocks he had made and willed them to levitate. “Cool,”he muttered.
“Alright, I want you to will one of the balls towards where you feel movement,” Kelile said.
“Alright,” Alex nodded. I can do this, he thought to himself. Closing his eyes he concentrated on throwing the balls everywhere he felt movement. After launching the last one he opened his eyes smiling.
“Well done, although I think one of those movements was a squirrel,” Kelile laughed.
“Is it okay?” Alex asked.
“It will be fine,” Kelile replied, still chuckling.
Alex’s head snapped to the left of him as he felt a subtle movement. Kelile looked in the direction as well. Alex focused his attention in the direction when he suddenly felt something charging through the brush at them.
