Spending just ten spirit crystals and instantly winning the favor of the Southern Protector? Ji Wuhui’s mastery of imperial strategy was indeed impressive.

However, he could never have guessed that the first customer of Luo Chuan’s shop had been Bu Lige!

Bai Hong nodded in agreement with Ji Wuhui’s instructions, but a trace of hesitation lingered in his expression.

“Old Bai, is there something else?” Ji Wuhui asked with a smile.

After a pause, Bai Hong gnced at him and said cautiously, “Your Majesty, please don’t be angry when I tell you this.”

“Hahaha…” Ji Wuhui ughed heartily. “Old Bai, speak freely. As the emperor, I have the composure to handle anything.”

Taking a deep breath, Bai Hong said, “That senior… killed the Young Pace Master, Chu Yunfei, of Silver Moon Mansion in Nine Stars City.”

  Ji Wuhui froze.

  “...Hiss…”

As the realization set in, Ji Wuhui couldn’t help but draw in a sharp breath, a headache forming immediately.

Now he understood why Bai Hong hesitated to speak. The implications were clear—this was no small matter.

The Young Pace Master of Silver Moon Mansion had died in Nine Stars City. Even though the Heavenly Star Empire wasn’t directly involved, they couldn’t completely avoid the fallout.

But the one responsible was that terrifying senior. Ji Wuhui knew he couldn’t seek accountability from someone of such immense power.

After some thought, Ji Wuhui sighed and muttered, “It seems this burden falls on me…”

“Forget it,” he decred after a moment. “The Young Pace Master of Silver Moon Mansion may have perished in Nine Stars City, but if Chu Yangping dares to stir trouble here, my Star Empire is not a pce to be trifled with! If they make a move, I won’t hesitate to activate the great defense formation again!”

“Your Majesty is wise,” Bai Hong said respectfully.

  ---

As the battle ended and the defense formation dissipated, the skies over Nine Stars City returned to their usual crity.

The city’s residents collectively exhaled in relief. The crisis appeared to be over.

Though many had witnessed the awe-inspiring battle, few knew that one of the key figures, Luo Chuan, was lounging in a quiet alley on the city’s eastern side.

  ---

“It’s frustrating… If I’d used a soul projection, it would’ve looked so much more impressive!” Luo Chuan muttered to himself while reclining on a rocking chair.

He repyed the earlier scene in his mind, imagining a grander, more domineering presence.

Of course, he convinced himself it wasn’t about advertising his shop. Definitely not.

“System,” Luo Chuan called out zily.

“Yes, host?” the system responded promptly.

“I defended the shop from intruders. Don’t you think that warrants a reward? Maybe a lottery spin or something?” Luo Chuan asked seriously.

The system was silent for a moment before replying, “The reward has been issued. Please check, host.”

Luo Chuan, expecting to be denied, almost missed the system’s words in his surprise.

“System, you do understand me after all!” Luo Chuan excimed, his tone filled with satisfaction.

The system didn’t reply and promptly went silent again.

  Luo Chuan didn’t mind.

  After all, contentment is key.

  ---

“Yo, boss! Still rexing out here?”

A familiar voice rang out, accompanied by an even more familiar tone.

Without even opening his eyes, Luo Chuan knew who it was.

When he finally looked up, Bu Lige’s figure appeared before him.

Luo Chuan gnced at him briefly, then looked away, disinterested.

Unfazed, Bu Lige grinned and asked hesitantly, “Boss, was that commotion earlier your doing?”

“A fool tried to mess with my shop, so I dealt with him,” Luo Chuan replied nonchantly.
