Chapter One

  Yin Jae was an avid reader of a Webtoon, which has gotten a lot of praise due to its unique storyline. While the trope was pretty much the same, when it came to survival dungeon tropes, there were a few things that made it special. The webtoon, "Regression of the Overpowered Protagonist," was the first hunter-type trope where the Main Character was female. To her knowledge, the female lead was not weak, she showed growth and intelligence.

  But the webtoon's popurity took a nose dive after introducing the demon lord. Six years after introducing the st volume, the author announced the discontinuation of the webtoon. It's a sad ending that Yin Jae never expected, but it was well-written to the point that she felt she would remember this Webnovel forever. There was no regret for her who had gone through her teen years until her adult years, reading it.

  Then one day, she received a strange notification on her phone. She never expected it in this lifetime.

  [Author of Regression of the Overpowered Protagonist: To my beloved fan for reading until the end. I, the author, shall grant a reward as my appreciation for sticking with me all this time. Thank You.]

  "What's this?" Yin Jae clicked on a link below the message from the author. What kind of reward would she receive? She didn't think much of it. There was suddenly a bright fsh of white light, and all that was left was the aftereffects of lingering magic in the air.

  Urg. What the hell just happened?

  Yin Jae blinked awake, her surroundings were blurry. What woke her was the dry eraser thrown at her by the teacher in front of her. Wait. Teacher? She snapped her head left and right. Why was she in a cssroom? Where the hell was she? Also, that teacher looked kind of familiar. The snickering of the kids around her after getting hit by the teacher seemed unreal. This. Did she travel to her past? Her phone!

  Yin Jae remembered having her phone in her hand, but now it was nowhere to be found. That's when something like a game screen appeared before her face, causing her to overreact. She hit the ground in shock.

  "Yin Jae! Stop disturbing the css!" The teacher shouted.

  "Look at her, what a loser." The kids snickered at her and made snide and rude comments.

  Yin Jae climbed back into her desk, her focus mainly on the screen before her.

  {System Notification: Welcome Host, to Regression of the Overpowered Protagonist. This is the Monster Taming System provided as part of the award from the author. For now, only a part of this system is unlocked; the rest will be unlocked once the main scenario has begun.}

  Huh!? Did she just read that she entered her favorite Web novel? But why did this pce look so much like her original world?

  {System: Dear Host. Your world and this world are perfect clones. Besides the scenery, the world's characters are indeed from the book.}

  Woah! It just answered her! So? This was a replica of her world. It's strange to see the high school teacher and students from that dark era of hers. She was nothing but a skinny and bullied kid during those days. To think she would be happy to see those faces!

  "Yin Jae!"

  She flinched as the teacher gred in her direction. She had almost forgotten about her surroundings. But it seems she understood the gist of what's happening. The author's reward was for her to experience the world of the novel. This world was realistic and no longer fiction; she couldn't take it lightly because she had a system. Wait. If she were in the world of the novel, did that mean...?

  Before she could think about anything, a commotion came from the people beside the windows.

  "What's going on?" Yin Jae approached the windows along with the other students.

  Portals appeared all around outside. People were suddenly being attacked and killed by monsters appearing from those portals.

  Right. The genre of this book. It wasn't only about romance, but was also a survival story where things like dungeons and hunters existed.

  {System Notification: Doomsday

  Notification Details: The day of reckoning has arrived. The world of peace has disappeared, and the Gods have interfered. The Monster Taming System has been successfully unlocked. You've obtained the css Monster Tamer (SSS)

  Quest Details: Escape from the school successfully

  Quest Rank: G

  Reward: Bronze Item Box

  Penalty: Death }

  Screams could suddenly be heard outside the cssroom, and everyone was on edge; even the teacher panicked. Yin Jae stood there calmly, for some reason, her mental state was in perfect condition despite what was happening.

  {System: The host is protected by the system. The skill, Mental Solitude, prevents the pyer from going into shock.}

  That's useful. She can't continue to stand here; let's get out of this cssroom first. Once Yin Jae thought that something hit the door. From the sounds of it, something was trying to enter.

  "Oh God, I don't want to die!" Someone cried.

  Bright lights appeared beneath everyone's feet. They were in the shape of a blue magical circle. It's here, the gift that the gods will give to humans.

  {System: A new css is being detected.

  Css: Queen Role (SSS) }

  What kind of css is this? Queen Role? Did it make a mistake? She clicked on the css, but there was not much information about it. She was certain she might be the second person in this world with two csses of the highest ranks. Because the other person was the Female Lead herself! Still without much information on this css, she might as well only have one.

  She snapped out of her thoughts as the door locked by the teacher was finally knocked to the ground, revealing a small group of little green monsters. Each held weapons covered in blood. It was clear they killed all humans they came across. Yin Jae made a clear calcution of her surroundings. What, in this situation, can she use to take down these goblins?

  {System Notification: Tamable monsters in the vicinity

  Monster Tamable: 0/1

  Do you wish to tame the nearby Goblin (level 1)?}

  Right! That's her skill!

  Yes!

  {System: Because the host has obtained the Queen Role, the Goblin has decided to follow you. The host may skip the process of taming the goblin in the usual way.}

  WHAT THE HELL!! What kind of cheat css is that? So it wasn't completely useless after all! Stacked with her Taming Css on top of Queen Role, she could bypass the normal means of taming monsters! So, what's the normal way to tame them exactly?

  {System: Forming contracts with tameable monsters usually requires a magical circle and a ritual. The host can skip that process with both her csses if put together. Of course, you could choose to name the monster, as doing so will boost its strength. and help it evolve in the future.}

  So OP!

  Wait, no time to sit around, she must escape! "Attack the enemy and I'll be sure to reward you with a name ter!" She ordered the goblin.

  Nearby cssmates, fearing their deaths, were in shock at what they were seeing. The skinny and bullied girl they once knew was no more, because in this life, she'll make a name for herself! The one goblin she tamed finished off the other goblins with a bit of struggle, earning its reward.

  It turned to her expectantly, as if awaiting its award.

  Why does it seem like it has a mind of its own?

  {System: Monsters are indeed obedient once tamed, but in the host's special case, monsters have freedom with their own personality.}

  That expins it. Hmm, but now what should she name it? Looking at the goblin, there was something different about it from the others. Despite having the same green skin and ugly mug, there was a slight height difference.

  "Giant?" She muttered.

  The goblin suddenly glowed and grew muscles, taking on a more manly appearance. Did that just happen?

  "It's a pleasure to serve you, my mistress." Giant fell to one knee before her.

  {System Notification: Skill - Ego (S) = All monsters tamed by the host will gain an ego matching their personality's (Only applies once given names)}

  {System Notification: Congrats on gaining your first skill, the host obtained 500 points. Points can be used once the Monster Taming Shop is unlocked.}

  So cool! Let's tame and name as many monsters as possible!

  {System: That is unwise. As the host is low on mana, naming monsters can take a toll on the body. Please refrain until enough mana is gathered.}

  How unlucky. It does make sense, though. As for this big guy, she gnced at the Goblin standing by as though ready to take on the world. It would be better to strengthen his core stats. But how would she know what those are?

  {System: The host may view the stats of all tamed monsters, and you can also see your own. Do you wish to take a look?}

  I do! Yin Jae made a beeline for a more peaceful location. The principal's office! But an encounter she never thought of was waiting for her there.
