65 - Return

  A flash of white light.

Jason Williams and Kira returned to the RV.

Having experienced so much in the zombie world, they both felt a bit out of place suddenly being back in the cozy RV.

"Chloe, we're back!" Kira announced loudly to the others inside.

Immediately, the sound of clattering pots and pans came from the kitchen, along with Ellie's excited voice.

"That's Kira's voice! Jason and Kira must be back!"

"Ellie, how did you knock over the vegetable basin again…"

"Sorry, sis, I'll clean it up later. Let's go see Jason and Kira!"

The sound of Ellie and Jenna chattering excitedly came from the kitchen, making Jason chuckle.

It seemed Ellie had been more of a hindrance than a help in the kitchen, judging by the sounds of the pots and pans.

Just then, the RV slowly came to a stop, and Chloe walked in from the driver's seat.

  "Hubby, you're finally back!"

Chloe noticed the bloodstains on Kira and Jason and was immediately alarmed. She rushed to Kira, checking her over with her hands.

"Kira, why are you covered in blood? Are you hurt? Let me check."

Kira's face flushed, and she quickly grabbed Chloe's hands.

"I'm not hurt. It's just blood from killing zombies…"

Chloe knew they weren't injured, but seeing Kira resisting, she reluctantly withdrew her hands and went to hug Jason instead.

If her good sister wouldn't let her, she'd just find her Hubby.

At that moment, Ellie and Jenna came bounding out of the kitchen and ran up to Jason.

"Jason, I shot down several Goblins and wild animals today!"

Ellie was eager to show off her accomplishments.

She discovered she had a real talent for shooting, having taken down several Goblins and wild animals with her crossbow.

"Ew, Jason… and Kira, why are you covered in blood? What happened in the instance dungeon?"

As soon as Ellie got close to Jason, she smelled a strong, slightly rotten scent of blood.

Jason and Kira had been in the zombie world for so long that they were used to it, but Chloe and the others noticed it immediately.

Jason then told the three girls about their experience in the zombie world.

"The instance dungeon we went to was a zombie world. These bloodstains are from killing zombies."

This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

Feeling uncomfortable after three days without a shower, Jason took Kira's hand and said to Chloe and the others, "I'll tell you about what happened in the zombie world later. Kira and I are going to take a shower first."

Jenna immediately said, "Jason, Kira, are you hungry? I prepared a lot of ingredients…"

She had traded for a lot of ingredients on the channel today and wanted to cook a big meal for dinner.

Jason smiled and nodded. "Kira and I haven't eaten much today. I'd love to try your cooking."

Jenna nodded happily, having spent most of the day in the kitchen preparing ingredients, just waiting for Jason to come back so she could cook a meal.

Ellie quickly chimed in, saying she would help her sister.

Chloe teased Ellie, telling her not to cause trouble for Jenna and suggesting they all take a shower together.

"Chloe, we're not dirty. Why do we need to take a shower?" Ellie protested.

Chloe replied matter-of-factly, "We got out of the RV to open treasure chests today and got covered in dust."

Ellie realized Chloe was right but still rejected her suggestion.

"No, I promised Jenna we'd make a big meal together. Showers can wait. I can shower with her tonight." Ellie turned and went to the kitchen with Jenna.

Jason and Kira went to the bathroom, leaving Chloe in a dilemma.

Should she shower now or wait until tonight?

Comparing Ellie and Jenna to Kira, Chloe decided to wait until tonight.

After all, it was two against one.

  …

It was around three or four in the afternoon.

Apart from the team that went to the instance dungeon, the other teams had spent the day scavenging for supplies, and their gas was almost gone.

Most teams were now parked and resting, cooking or relaxing.

With nothing to do, many people naturally turned their attention to the chat channel.

One sentence in the chat channel caught everyone's attention.

"After going to the instance dungeon today, I realized there are so many strong people among us. It was really eye-opening."

The person who sent the message was called Bai Sheng. His words made everyone curious and puzzled.

  Instance dungeon?

  So many strong people?

One sentence touched on two important pieces of information, immediately drawing everyone's attention.

Someone immediately pinged Bai Sheng in the channel, asking what he meant by those words.

What instance dungeon? What strong people impressed you so much?

Others urged Bai Sheng to stop talking in riddles and share the news quickly.

Faced with the crowd's prodding, Bai Sheng slowly sent a message:

"Everyone, it's not that I don't want to say, but I went to the instance dungeon this morning and only just got back. I didn't collect any supplies today, and I need to find some treasure chests for food before it gets dark."

Hearing this, the crowd cursed impatiently, wondering when Bai Sheng would finish scavenging for supplies.

Someone immediately advised Bai Sheng that he could search for supplies tomorrow since the gas wouldn't disappear.

Collecting supplies depended on gas, and as long as there was gas, they could search for supplies at any time. There was no need to rush.

He should just tell them what was going on with the instance dungeon.

Bai Sheng said he had no food in his RV and couldn't starve…

Everyone then realized what Bai Sheng meant. If they wanted him to reveal information, they had to give him something in return.

So, a few people with surplus food immediately traded some to Bai Sheng, who then told everyone about the zombie world.

"This morning, our team got an instance dungeon token from a treasure chest…"

Bai Sheng wrote about his experiences from beginning to end in the chat channel.

The chat channel, which had been filled with messages every second, became quiet. Only Bai Sheng was telling his story.

Everyone learned that a hundred teams had gone to the instance dungeon to kill zombies today.

Bai Sheng gave everyone a certain understanding of the instance dungeon.

The bottom three teams on the zombie night hunting leaderboard horrified everyone.

Forty teams had died in just two nights. If the big shots hadn't killed all the high-level zombies, even more people would have died.

In his past life, no one had ever explained this to everyone in the chat channel.

After all, only a dozen teams survived after Ellie cleared the instance dungeon in her previous life.

Those teams wouldn't have been in the mood to talk about this in the chat channel.

So, Jason had no understanding of the zombie world in his previous life.

Instead, Bai Sheng, for a little food, posted the information about the instance dungeon in the chat channel.

Someone immediately asked Bai Sheng in the channel:

"Bai Sheng, quickly tell us which big shots are on the leaderboard and what makes them so amazing?"
