03:42 a.m. – Rossi Mansion
The house slept.
The shadows were dense but still. Outside, not a single leaf moved. Inside, everything seemed at peace... until Kali opened her eyes.
But she wasn't fully awake.
Her breathing was steady, her body moved with the delicacy of someone hypnotized. As if something else was guiding her.
Without a word, she rose from the bed. Nicco was sleeping deeply, unaware of the movement. Kali didn't even look at him.
She walked barefoot through the hallway without making a sound. She didn't turn on any lights. She didn't need to see.
Her steps led her as if she knew the way without ever walking it before.
And then...
Everything changed.
The Cave
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
A blink.
A whisper that wasn't a voice.
And Kali was no longer in the mansion.
She was in a cave.
Cold. Dark. Alive.
The walls breathed. The stones glowed with a soft phosphorescence. And with every step she took, invisible torches lit up around her, one by one, as if greeting her arrival.
She didn't seem surprised. She didn't look around. She walked.
At the back, on a pedestal of time-cracked rock... she saw it.
The necklace.
The same one she had dreamed about.
The black crystal suspended on a silver thread. It pulsed like a heart. The stone seemed to absorb the light, dark as an abyss. And yet... beautiful. Familiar.
Kali reached out her hand. This time it didn't tremble.
This time she knew it was hers.
She touched it.
And instantly, the world changed.
A surge ran through her arm. It wasn't pain. It was power. Something ancient awakening. The symbols on the walls began to glow.
Black. Red. Like restrained fire.
The necklace fastened itself around her neck, as if it had always been waiting for that moment.
Kali closed her eyes.
Took a deep breath.
And smiled.
Outside the cave – still in trance
She kept walking.
She was no longer inside, but hadn't returned either.
Still in a trance.
Around her, a dense forest opened beneath a moonless sky. Her feet brushed the ground without disturbing the leaves. Her eyes were open, but no longer saw the same way.
The necklace on her chest emitted a soft black pulse of light.
She wasn't thinking.
She was feeling.
And within her, something deep... had aligned.
Because Kali was no longer just Kali.
Now she carried a promise.
An ancient promise.
And a silent warning to anyone who dared to touch her.
