Chapter 67: I’m Not Done With You Yet, You Beast
Zhang Yang was startled awake, suddenly snapping out of his daze. What he saw left him dumbstruck—a patch of crimson spread across the white sheets, like a blooming plum blossom beneath Gao Qi’s pale hips, shockingly vivid.
Even worse, his lower body was still pressed tightly against her most private place. He could clearly feel a warm, enveloping tightness around his swollen part, almost as if it were melting.
Who else could it be but him?
Zhang Yang was dumbfounded. Whatever alcohol was left in his system evaporated instantly. What the hell just happened?
“You’re not getting out? You bastard!” Gao Qi bit her lower lip, her voice trembling between pain and heartbreak. Tears streamed down her face as she cried uncontrollably. Then her hands curled into fists and, with her legs too, she started punching and kicking Zhang Yang. “I’m not done with you, you beast! I’ll kill you! You’re gonna take responsibility for this forever!”
Zhang Yang froze, completely panicking. Xu Danlu, however, reacted like a seasoned veteran—she rushed over, hugged Gao Qi, soothing her softly while signaling to Zhang Yang to back off.
Zhang Yang hurried into the bathroom, put on his clothes, and looked at himself in the mirror, a wave of regret washing over him. He smacked his forehead hard. Things had blown up big time. How the hell did it even come to this?
His mind was a complete blank.
The real kicker? The big-breasted Gao Qi turned out to be a virgin. Seriously? She usually talked like a battle-hardened flirt, but now it turned out she’d been an innocent maiden all along.
He paced back and forth like an ant on a hot pan.
After about twenty minutes, Xu Danlu finally came over. She knocked on the bathroom door, peeked her head in, and slipped inside.
“How is she?” Zhang Yang asked anxiously.
“Guess,” she replied with a teasing smirk.
Zhang Yang wiped the sweat from his brow, rubbing her cheek in exasperation. “Now’s not the time to joke.”
“Hmph. So you’re finally scared, huh?”
Zhang Yang sighed, his chest tightening. He pulled her into his arms, brushed his face against hers, and whispered, “I’m sorry, Lulu.”
Lulu was his official girlfriend—and he’d just had sex with another woman right in front of her. No matter how he spun it, she was the one most hurt by this.
“No need to apologize. I’m not blaming you.” Xu Danlu gently patted his back. “Besides, it’s not like you meant for this to happen. And maybe… maybe Qi-jie didn’t entirely reject you deep down.”
Xu Danlu sighed softly and added, “Qi-jie wants to talk to you. Go on.”
“She wants to talk?” Zhang Yang hesitated, then nodded. Intentional or not, he’d have to face this sooner or later.

Gao Qi seemed calm now. Fully dressed, she sat quietly on the edge of the bed. The bloodstained sheets had been folded away. When she saw Zhang Yang, she said coolly, “Sit.”
Just as Zhang Yang was about to speak, Gao Qi raised her hand to stop him. She glanced at him, pressed her lips together, then said slowly, “You don’t need to apologize. What happened tonight was mostly my fault. We’re all adults—things got out of hand, that’s all.”
“Of course, anyone would be upset after being fucked out of nowhere. But honestly,” Gao Qi tilted her head up, looking at Zhang Yang with a stiff smile, “you’re not bad-looking, and to be honest, you’re my type. So I don’t feel like I lost out. Technically, I should even give you a red envelope. And if it were any other woman besides Lulu, I’d fight her to the end. But she’s my sister—I can’t do that. Got it?”
Zhang Yang shook his head.
“In simpler terms,” Gao Qi said, looking out the window at the first light of dawn, “I’ll just consider it as being screwed by a dog. From now on, no one mentions this again. Not a single word, got it—ow!”
She tried to stand, but pain flared in her lower body, forcing her to sit again. She glared at Zhang Yang irritably. “What are you staring at? Go get me a glass of water.”
“Yes, ma’am!” Zhang Yang finally exhaled in relief. If she wanted to call it that, fine. It was what it was.
Xu Danlu then trotted out like a kitten, looked at both of them, and whispered, “Negotiations over?”
Gao Qi shot her a side-eye and said to Zhang Yang, “Go down to the front desk and get us a bottle of water.”
Zhang Yang looked at her, realizing the two women clearly wanted to talk privately. He nodded and left.
As soon as he was gone, Gao Qi glared at Xu Danlu furiously. “Lulu, you’re one hell of a girlfriend. Your boyfriend screws someone, and you’re here cleaning up after him! What the hell is wrong with you? I swear, if it weren’t for your sake, I’d—ugh—I’d have chopped his balls off! Ow!”
She winced again, then blushed, glancing at Xu Danlu. Pulling her closer, she whispered in her ear, “That guy’s pretty… intense. How did you even survive him?”
The question made even the bold Xu Danlu blush. Women who’d been through this kind of thing really did have a different mindset.
She quickly shook her head. “We haven’t… done it yet!”
“Really? I don’t believe you. You two have slept together for ages. What, is he a eunuch?”
“My period just ended today…”
“Seriously? Then I got the lucky draw!” Gao Qi’s mood flipped instantly, the gloom in her chest vanishing as she smirked proudly—then, realizing how shameless she sounded after taking her friend’s boyfriend’s first time, her expression faltered.
“Lulu, I’m sorry. It’s that bastard’s fault… But I’ve made things clear with him. From now on, we’re even—strangers. You and I are still sisters, okay?”
Xu Danlu looked at her and said softly, “Honestly… even though he took advantage of you, I feel both sad and kind of happy.”
“Huh? Sad and happy? What’s that supposed to mean?” Gao Qi frowned.
Xu Danlu stood up, walked to the cabinet, poured a cup of hot water, and handed it to her. “First, answer me one thing.”
Gao Qi took the cup, holding it in both hands, and nodded. “Okay.”
“What do you think of Yangzi as a person?”
“What do I think? He’s flirty, horny, and broke… Well, he’s got a bit of cash now. Anyway, not a good man.”
Xu Danlu chuckled softly. “Qi-jie, if that’s really how you see him, then you of all people should know what happens when a seductive woman like you lies half-naked in front of a horny man, right?”
Hearing that, Gao Qi looked guilty, taking a sip of water before mumbling, “I… I was drunk!”
“Even if you were drunk, if you truly didn’t want it, do you really think he could’ve just…” Xu Danlu smirked and pointed meaningfully at Gao Qi’s lower body. “…entered that place so easily?”
“Fine, I admit it. I do like your man a little. Zhang Yang may seem like a flirt and a joker, but when things get serious, he steps up. He can play dumb, but he never backs down when it matters. Still, he’s yours, and I’d never steal him from you. Tonight… I’ll admit, most of it’s my fault.”
Before she could finish, Xu Danlu raised her hand. “Qi-jie, I’m not trying to assign blame. Sure, Yangzi’s my boyfriend, but there’s more to him than you or even I realize.”
She walked slowly to the window, pulling open the curtains to let in the morning light. “He’s a member of the much-hyped ‘Dragonborn’ research team—but truthfully, that project was entirely his idea. He’s got real strength too, so much that I sometimes can’t believe it. He can make the university afraid to expel him, have the Qiao family’s heiress act as his driver every day, and make Shanghai’s expert panel treat my father like a national-level VIP… Just that much should tell you—someone like me can’t possibly control a man like him.”
“And you know my reputation outside isn’t great. People think I’m a slut, that I’ll sleep with anyone, that I’m shameless. With that image, how could I possibly live with him long-term? Forget being his wife—just being his girlfriend feels suffocating. So…”
She turned back toward Gao Qi. “So either I leave him, or I find a way to ease that pressure.”
“I realized I can’t leave him. So the best way to ease the pressure is to make him feel guilty—if he thinks he owes me, maybe he’ll care about me more.”
Gao Qi blinked, sitting in silence for a long time before slowly raising her head. “So… you knew I was letting things happen on purpose, and you didn’t stop it?”
Xu Danlu nodded. “Exactly. Otherwise, how do you think he kept winning with such garbage hands?”
Gao Qi went quiet again. After a while, she looked at Xu Danlu with a mix of pity and awe. “You’re terrifying… and pitiful. But it’s clear—you really love him.”
Xu Danlu smiled faintly, walking back to the window and cracking it open. The cold air brushed her cheeks as she murmured, “I already value him more than my own life.”
A single tear rolled down her pale cheek.
She wiped it away discreetly, then turned back with a faint smile. “Now then, let’s talk about what comes next.”
“What comes next? You mean the three of us?” Gao Qi blinked. “Didn’t I say we’d just pretend tonight never happened? From now on, we’re strangers.”
“Strangers? Weren’t you the one who wanted to help He Shan’s sister get justice from Bai Liangfeng?” Xu Danlu lowered her lashes. “If you want that chance in this lifetime—and not the next—Zhang Yang is your only hope.”
