His transformation was irreversible.
He had thrown away his final card.
Having completely lost his humanity, he unleashed a mindless, bestial roar.
With that roar, an overwhelming cold swept over the soldiers. They were turned
into blocks of ice without even having time to scream.
As Kashirgal cast himself aside, Abarkash likewise resolved himself to
death.
He wrapped himself in a circular shield of sand and began gathering his power.
Soon, a massive sand vortex rose across the battlefield, flinging both enemies
and allies alike into the air.
With freezing cold and the vortex combined—an irresistible calamity—the
generals and kings stood stunned, unable to react.
“Pull the troops back immediately! Get a hold of yourself, Commander!”
At Elaton’s shout, the supreme commander Namur Bel came to his senses and
urgently ordered a retreat.
The kings and generals followed suit, issuing retreat orders in perfect
coordination.
The soldiers withdrew quickly, but even so, many were lost to the cold and the
vortex.
Tamar created massive vines indiscriminately, trying to bind Kashirgal as he
advanced while spewing cold in all directions.
However, the vines were living beings. The instant they froze, they lost their
strength and shattered into pieces.
As Kashirgal and Abarkash’s vortex rushed toward the five siblings, a calm
voice spoke from behind them.
“Why do you try to bear everything yourselves?”
It was the High Priest of Enlil.
The high priests and priests of the five nations had stepped forward, resolved
to fight together.
When the apostles of Enlil (the god of air and wind) from Kish summoned a
raging gale, the cold weakened and the advance of the vortex slowed.
The apostles of Gibil (the god of fire, flame, and forging) from Ur gathered
all their power and infused Eshiel with flame.
The apostles of Ninhursag (the goddess of earth) from Lursag breathed blessings
into Elaton’s hammer, restoring its damage and increasing its strength and
weight.
The apostles of Ningirsu (the god of war, justice, and guardianship) from
Lagash bestowed blessings upon the five siblings, enhancing their power and
defense.
With the priests lending their strength, the five siblings were able to
reform their lines.
Tamar intertwined countless vines to create a massive protective shelter that
shielded the priests and Riana.
The shelter protected everyone from the vortex and the cold.
Riana poured her power into Elaton, maximizing his monstrous strength.
Tamar’s vines wrapped around Elaton, spun him like a siege engine, and hurled
him toward Kashirgal.
The instant the dragon’s face filled Elaton’s vision as he tore through the air—

BOOM!
The mountain-sized dragon’s head reeled.
Elaton’s strike had landed.
With the priests’ blessings and Riana’s power combined, he displayed strength
surpassing even that of an ancient giant.
He drove his spear deep into the dragon’s hard scales, then lashed his own body
to the spear like a rope.
With all his might, he began hammering Kashirgal’s head repeatedly.
The colossal dragon thrashed in pain, trying to shake him off, but Elaton—his
body already secured—did not stop his assault.
With a deafening roar, Kashirgal began releasing explosive cold from his
entire body.
In an instant, everything around them started to freeze, and Elaton was no
exception.
Just as Elaton was encased in ice and came to a halt, a scorching heat swept
in.
Bennu, having received all of Eshiel’s power, had grown gigantic and flown in
to oppose the cold.
Amid the clash of fire and ice, Elaton revived once more and gathered all his
strength.
Then he delivered the final blow.
“RAAAAH!”
BOOM!
The great dragon’s head began to sway violently from side to side.
Its body, having lost balance, slowly tilted forward.
Then, with a thunderous crash like a collapsing mountain, Kashirgal’s massive
body fell to the ground.
His huge eyes stared at the sky for a moment before his eyelids slowly closed.
It was the end of the Beast King who had spoken so often of honor.
When Kashirgal fell, a roar of triumph erupted from the allied forces.
The Uruk army, having lost both king and generals, broke and fled in all
directions, their fighting spirit gone.
Seeing that the battle was hopeless, Abarkash stopped his spell, formed
floating masses of sand around himself, and retreated into the city.
Eshiel spotted him fleeing and launched a strike, but the arrow lost its power
over the long distance and was blocked by Abarkash’s sand shield.
The last general of Uruk disappeared calmly into the city.
Elaton, battered and broken, climbed down from Kashirgal’s enormous corpse.
Covered in blood and ice, he slowly raised his hammer and shouted with all the
strength he had left.
“Advance, all forces! Begin the siege of Uruk!”
