Conditions for Advancement

There were only three defensive magic items on the list.

The first was a gray robe enchanted with the Blade Ward property. Additionally, it was solidified with the Rank 1 spell Mage Armor, which would automatically trigger the spell to block damage the moment the wearer was attacked.

The second was a set of fine steel heavy armor enchanted with Glamoured and Lesser Spell Resistance properties.

Armor with the "Glamoured" property could transform into any clothing at will, but other attributes remained the same as the original (including hardness and weight). Only spells like True Seeing could see through the armor's true appearance.

"Lesser Spell Resistance," as the name suggested, provided weak resistance to spells, slightly reducing magical damage taken.

The last item was a ring enchanted with protective properties, plus a solidified Rank 1 spell Obscuring Mist, which could summon a fog centered on the wearer.

Among the three items, Pierce was the first to rule out the ring.

Its protective properties conflicted with his Ring of Protection, and identical types of protective force fields could not stack.

Moreover, Obscuring Mist was more often used for escape and was not helpful for defense.

Pierce pondered for a moment over the remaining two items and finally chose the enchanted heavy armor.

Although the Mage Armor spell solidified on the gray robe was good, he would soon be able to learn Mage Armor himself, so there was no need to buy a duplicate magic item.

On the contrary, the enchanted heavy armor could withstand sharp weapons and had spell resistance, which could be used to defend against some spells that Mage Armor could not block.

As for the weight of the heavy armor, it was not worth mentioning for Pierce, whose physique was comparable to a Grand Knight.

I will take this magical heavy armor, Pierce said. In addition, I want to buy some spell models.

Pierce handed over the prepared paper, which listed the spell models he wanted to buy.

There were seven in total: Mage Armor, Cause Fear, Magic Missile, Ray of Enfeeblement, Silent Image, Burning Hands, and Jump.

The number of Rank 1 spells was much greater than Rank 0 cantrips.

There were nearly a hundred sold in the Logistics Department alone.

These seven spells were carefully selected by Pierce, covering many aspects such as defense, offense, crowd control, and mobility.

Once fully mastered, his combat effectiveness would inevitably achieve a leap.

The seven Rank 1 spell models cost him a total of 700 contribution points.

After getting the items, Pierce asked about the Realm of Truth.

The next opening time for the Realm of Truth is December 30th. You can just report to the General Affairs Department of the Experiment Zone then, the thin apprentice replied.

  Thank you.

Pierce turned and left the Logistics Department.

  Back at the apartment.

As soon as he entered the living room, Pierce saw Ini sleeping soundly on the sofa.

He woke the little guy up without a word and took out a cup for her to produce Myriad-Bloom Nectar.

Right now was a time when money was scarce. As a member of the family, the little guy naturally had to contribute her share.

Under Pierce's inspiration, Ini was very touched and went to work with tears in her eyes.

Pierce took out the magical heavy armor, transformed it into the shape of a gray robe, and then replaced the apprentice robe on his body.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

From the appearance alone, this was an ordinary long robe, and even the touch was no different from a robe.

No one would have thought that this was actually a powerful piece of armor with defense equivalent to fine steel heavy armor and attached with spell resistance.

Ring of Protection, Magical Heavy Armor, plus Mistfeather's transformation defense, and Mage Armor... that should be about enough.

Pierce nodded with satisfaction. Finally, he felt a sense of security.

He then took out the spell model book for Mage Armor.

Omniscient Eye, analyze the Mage Armor spell model.

【Task created. Analyzing Mage Armor spell model. Estimated time: 12 days.】

Pierce nodded secretly. Not bad; the time was not too long. Consuming spiritual power to accelerate once could instantly complete the analysis.

However, he did not intend to do so.

The urgent task was to complete the creation of the New Meditation Technique as soon as possible, and then he could start constructing new Will Runes.

Therefore, all current spiritual power had to be used on this, and everything else had to be postponed.

Omniscient Eye, check my current status.

  【Spirit: 51.63】

  【Physique: 25.32】

【Task 1: Create New Meditation Technique. Estimated remaining time: 221 days, 21 hours, 59 minutes.】

【Task 2: Analyze Silent Casting technique. Estimated remaining time: 174 days.】

【Task 3: Analyze Mage Armor spell model. Estimated remaining time: 12 days.】

About 10 more days, and I should be able to complete the new meditation technique.

Pierce estimated and looked at his Spirit attribute.

If a Rank 3 Wizard Apprentice wanted to advance to an Official Wizard, they had to condense a Mental Crystal.

And there were two prerequisites for condensing a Mental Crystal.

First, construct the maximum number of Will Runes for the current meditation technique.

Second, the spiritual power must be at least five times the number of Will Runes.

In other words, if he wanted to advance to a Wizard with the new meditation technique, he must construct 32 Will Runes and increase his Spirit attribute to at least 160 points!

This was undoubtedly a very difficult goal.

But once achieved, after advancing to a Wizard, his strength would far surpass that of ordinary Wizards.

The Wizard Apprentice stage is a period for laying the foundation. The more solid the foundation, the further one can go in the future.

Pierce's eyes flickered slightly. He put all his spirit into acceleration and then began to meditate to recover spiritual power.

After the breakthrough, his daily spiritual power growth from meditation also rose, reaching about 0.4 points.

Until night, Pierce finished his meditation and took out the Memory Crystal ball given by Morven to examine it carefully.

Recorded in the crystal ball was a high-level meditation technique calledDeep Sea Meditation.

What surprised Pierce was that this meditation technique could construct up to 24 Will Runes.

  Teacher's gift is too generous.

Pierce originally thought getting a high-level meditation technique with 18 Will Runes would be good enough.

Now it seemed that Morven valued him, the new disciple, even more than expected.

  Pity I cannot use it.

Pierce shook his head. After recording theDeep Sea Meditation with the Omniscient Eye, he wiped the information from the crystal ball and put it away.

Although he wouldn't use theDeep Sea Meditation, having it meant he would have a cover in the open when the new meditation technique was created. In this regard, it was good.

And it can also speed up the creation progress of the new meditation technique.

Pierce looked at the task bar. With the input of theDeep Sea Meditation, the analysis time required for the new meditation technique instantly decreased by more than fifty days.

  This was an unexpected gain.

With a light laugh, Pierce immediately took out the Compendium of Rank 1 Potions and browsed through it rapidly.

In less than five minutes, the thick book was scanned by the Omniscient Eye, and all the knowledge was engraved into his mind.

A total of fifty-seven Rank 1 potions were recorded in the compendium.

Of course, the actual number of Rank 1 potions was certainly far more than this.

It was just that more potion recipes belonged to a certain Wizard or a certain family as private recipes and would not appear in books.

  But fifty-seven kinds were enough.

Pierce was not a collector and had no intention of collecting all Rank 1 potion recipes. He just needed to master a few for his own use and for sale.

For example, Dragonblood Potion, Boiling Blood Potion, and Vigor Potion.

The Dragonblood Potion had the effect of permanently strengthening the physique and could also improve the cultivation efficiency of breathing techniques, lasting for about three to five days.

Although the name contained Dragon Blood, none of the materials used to refine the potion actually had anything to do with dragons.

After all, the Dragon race, even sub-dragons, were genuine magical creatures.

Magical creatures were not comparable to fierce beasts.

The creatures Pierce encountered on the island were at best talented fierce beasts.

Only creatures that awakened innate spells could be called magical creatures.

Many magical creatures had to be treated with caution even by Wizards.

If I use the Dragonblood Potion to assist in cultivating the Azure Breath, I should be able to break through to the Grand Knight level very soon.

And after I take it to the limit of drug resistance, the remaining potions can be sold.

  Pierce quickly made a plan.

Omniscient Eye, analyze the Dragonblood Potion recipe.

【Task created. Analyzing Dragonblood Potion recipe. Estimated time: 3 days.】

Pause the analysis of Silent Casting technique; prioritize analyzing the Dragonblood Potion recipe.

Pierce issued the command, then looked at the other two potions.

The Vigor Potion's effect was to briefly increase spiritual activity, helping to improve spellcasting success rates and reduce consumption, making it quite popular among Wizard Apprentices.

The Boiling Blood Potion's effect was to briefly strengthen strength and agility and significantly reduce pain perception, making it very suitable for Knights.

However, Pierce was not in a hurry to analyze these two potions and planned to refine them when he had more leeway later.

After all, there were many things that needed to be analyzed right now.

The task bar is still not enough.
