CH-24 : Tushar Nobin Nishan (3)

  (Episode - 24)

  [Tushar Nobin Nishan (3)]

Tushar looks back after hearing a sound. His eyes grow bigger in shock. Before his eyes stands that boy with fire powers. The hood of his dusty, dark red cloak is almost covering his red eyes.

Tushar : W-Why are you here?

  Boy : Didn’t I tell you? I'd be waiting.

Tushar : I'll run away as promised. So don't hurt my family.

Boy : Hurting your family is useless now, because you're the one I'm after.

Tushar : What do you want now? You said you’d let me go if I ran away.

Boy : Let you go? Pfft. I only said that, so I could bring you far from your home and silently kill you.

  Tushar : …What?

  Boy : Hahaha!

His wicked laughter echoes in Tushar’s ears. His throat dries up. His eyes tense, not knowing what to do now.

Tushar : You… You can't do this! I did what you wanted me to do! So keep your word!

Boy : It was never my intention to let you go. A yellow-haired boy with the power of ice, this should be your fate…

  Tushar : No!

The boy attacks with fire and Tushar strikes back with ice. Tushar creates a barrier of ice around himself but the boy melts it down within seconds. After a few more clashes, Tushar loses and falls to the ground, weak.

Boy : You're even weaker than I expected. It's good for me. Haha!

Tushar : Get away from me…

With devilish eyes and a vicious smile, the boy ignites fire on the ground that surrounds Tushar. He tries to kill the fire with ice but the boy makes the flames higher.

“He blocked my ways of escaping. My weak ice powers couldn’t stand against him anymore. I was desperate to survive but I saw no way out of it. No hope was left for me, and I just prayed it wouldn’t hurt too much when I died.”

Tushar covers his head as the intolerable heat captures him, falling weaker and weaker. Unable to move.

“I thought it was the end of me. And I'd die right there. But right then, the fire stopped. And someone attacked him.”

A 6-year-old green-haired boy stops the fire and pushes the red-cloaked boy back. Green rays of light and small leaves swirl around him as he faces the evil red eyes.

“It was Karu. He defended me with his green nature power.”

Karu : Stop! What do you think you're doing?

Boy : Who are you now?

  Karu : That doesn’t matter. You’re hurting a person!

Boy : None of your business.

Karu : It is my business to help another human being.

Boy : Human being? Haha. Ice-powered people… They're just curses.

  Karu : Hey!

“I didn’t know him back then. All I saw was his powers and green hair. After that, slowly their voices started to fade away, my vision became blurry, and then completely blank. I don’t know what happened after that.”

“When I opened my eyes, I found myself lying beside some bushes here in Shopnopur City. I had no idea how I reached here, no one was there anymore — Karu or that boy. The sky was clear that day. I started walking on the street with no idea what to do or where to go.”

Tushar slowly walks on the sidewalk, barely holding himself together, a soft breeze swaying his disheveled hair. His yellow eyes shine as they search for ways. Despite his face being covered in dirt and tiredness, the gleam of his eyes stays intact.

“I was too exhausted, struggling to walk. At some point, I reached a market area… And I saw a man standing far ahead in front of me, with two boys of my age. They were none other than Dad, Tori and Asroy. My throat was all dried up from thirst. Without even knowing who they are, I could feel that I'd be helped if I ran to them. But my body couldn’t keep up and I passed out before I could reach them.”

  Tushar : I need… Water… Please, give me water…

Miraz, Tori and Asroy notice Tushar coming towards them. As he passes out midway and falls on the ground, Miraz runs to him. Tori and Asroy follow.

“The next thing I remember is waking up at Miraz Monjil. I was in Asroy's bed, and the three of them were in the room, looking after me.”

Tushar sits up and notices his clothes have been changed into cleaner ones. Miraz hands him a glass of water. He drinks it up at once.

Miraz : Are you feeling better now?

Tushar : Yes… Thank you very much.

Tori : You're at our house now. So it's safe.

Asroy : Don't worry. We're very good people!

  Tushar : Huh?

Miraz : Did you lose your way? How long have you been roaming around here?

  Tushar : Uh, I…

“I told them everything, about my family, powers, how I ended up here and why. Dad told me to keep living with them, since I couldn't go back to my family. Dad adopted me and everyone accepted me with warmth. And I thought, maybe it was better to start living there instead of going back, for the safety of my family and myself. Since that boy's target was me, he might have only been looking for me.”

Tushar is sitting at the back door, which leads to the backyard garden of Miraz Monjil. His eyes are focused on the green grass touching his feet.

Tushar : *The color of the grass reminds me of the boy's hair who saved me. Who was he? I didn’t even see his face. But I want to meet him again and thank him.*

Asroy and Tori call him to play from the garden.

Asroy : Hey Tushar! We're playing a new game! Wanna play?

  Tori : Yeah, come over!

  Tushar : Huh?

Asroy : It will be fun!

Tushar : Hihi. Ok! Let's see who wins. You better be ready!

Tushar runs to them with a cheerful, mischievous smile. And the three of them continue to play.

“What gave my heart the most peace was that I wasn’t the only one with special powers, but Tori and Asroy were too. Dad was very generous and caring towards all of us. The place felt like my own so I adapted very quickly.”

“I had no regrets, because I saved my family. Even if it meant leaving them behind. I'm glad that Tulshi can grow up safely without any harm. I started my new life, and never felt the lack of a family's love. That's the bittersweet story of my arrival at Miraz Monjil.”
