  2. Researching Research

After leaving the office surging with excitement Andy immediately goes to the largest

Seust military research and development center, a large white seemingly one story building

with columns on all sides and 50 tedious steps to a one entrance glass double door. Andy,

pondering the sheer ridiculousness of the building's design, enters the building only to be

  met with a security screening.

“Clearance badge,” the security officer said.

After handing her badge back and stepping through a metal detector and being wanded

down. The officer stepped aside and allowed her to pass while walking down a long hallway,

noticing that she was on the top floor looking down into the library and a handful of military

personnel scattered around the towering bookshelves with solar panels on the top of them.

Andy took in the sights, as she headed down the three flights of steps. The only source of

light was the sun coming in softly from the ceiling made of tinted windows, suggesting that

a night under the stars here would be a magical respite in the commons given the city's

anal nature . The library's interior itself was toffee color with gold crown molding. The floors

were marbled cream color with large forest green squares with gold stars in the middle

every few feet. Down on the library's floor Andy approaches the librarian's circulation desk

where a small petite woman with baggy brown eyes, and her long black hair in desperate

need of a brush sat and asks.

“Um.. excuse me, where are your documents about the Castoria ruins located?”

“Down there there's a whole room for that castoria stuff,” the librarian said as she

  pointed airly to her left.

“Thank you” said Andy walking off in the direction she pointed.

Upon reaching the room it wasn't really a room at all but a private small study space where

only two bookcases stood in. With two tables and chairs and a large blue armchair nestled

in the corner. The books were organized by the dates of discovery Andy took out the very

first book and began reading it read:

  5/30/2575

We the exploratory team for the Seust nation have dug up an entrance to ruins today. The

building once inside its bright and shining even with the dim lighting because of porcelain

columns encrusted with silver engravings. the ceiling arches with markings on the ceiling we

haven't made out. Yet this is exciting our first real discovery. We’ve all become giddy and

can't wait to explore more of the site. I must send word back to the capital.

“This book is more of a journal,” Andy said under her breath, sighing sharply. She sets it

aside and reaches for another book. A more recently titled textbook castoria ruins: a look

and our past. Andy flips through it and a page catches her eye.

…. the picture above shows the inside of the ruins entrance on the right and on the left a

ritual room. The entrance is as the journalist described with the porcelain columns and

beautiful silver engravings, and a rather simple looking room with stone white benches and

a pedestal and altar in the far back.

The ruins of Castoria are actually a place of worship where early seustsians came to practice

their beliefs and offer praise and prayers to god in a new age of enlightenment as the

people embraced the blessing of elementia 500 years ago.

Andy reads a few more pages,As she closes the book the name Geraldine Wethers was 10

small world Andy thought; she scoops up the two books and leaves the room and heads

back to the circulation desk. The library was filled with the sun's orange glow, the only

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

indication that it was late in the evening.

“I’d like to check out these two books,” said Andy.

The librarian looked at the books and her eyes flinched and she asked “ May I have your

badge please?”Andy handed her the badge. “Ok you're all set” said the librarian.

Outside the library andy took a moment to take in the events of the day and the setting sun

with a few tall thin trees beside the building it looked even more impressive and

beautiful;while waiting on a bus to take her to base. The bus arrived and she showed the

driver her badge, nodded and proceeded to sit down by the window as she and only a few

others were on the bus, most of them military as well. As she looked out the window the

city's lights and screens on the buildings made them seem less gray and dull to a more

white color; and the people bustled about the streets going every which way. As the last

light of the sun faded away Andy was in awe of what she saw. Every corner and side of

every building started sparkling and when the cars and neon lights bounced off of them the

  sparkles danced along the buildings.

A middle aged man also dressed in Auwenzori colors sitting a few rows behind Andy

says “ New to Seust huh? All the buildings are made of special rocks and infused with a

stone found only in Seust; it's called Moissanite that causes light to reflect off it. It’s nothing

special to us but to people of other nations it's quite a spectacle.”

  Andy softly said “Yeah”.

The bus's final stop west Hollister's military base parking lot, andy walks to the far end of the

lot into a dark gray colored barracks which also had a silver sparkle to its walls. Inside the

hard wood floors and soft blue paint and gray crown molding made her feel relaxed and was

a nice pop of color to the dreariness that she's seen all day and waits to be checked in at

the desk. A sign that read 24hr was propped up on the counter and a bell to ring for service.

As she went to the elevator she heard someone scolding someone else.

“WHAT ARE YOU THINKING SOLDIER!?, HOW CAN YOU BE IDENTIFIED IF YOU ARE NOT IN

UNIFORM! You are not allowed to appropriate any military action without clearance and

without uniform which consists of our national colors in business casual attire or full

combat uniform so that the public can readily identify us if they need our assistance. As well

as serve as a deterrent against crimes from happening”.

  “I'M SORRY SIR”!

Sorry ain't gonna cut it, it's back to training for you for one month! Starting tomorrow, give

  me your badge!”

Ding! The elevator opened and Andy went up to her room. She gave a sigh upon

closing the door. It had been a long day for her. She showered and thought about what she

had read in the library .

I thought that there would be more than just a few books there. What I do know

about Seust is that there are a number of ruins of cathedrals and churches found here to

revere God and the blessing of elementia bestowed upon us 500 years ago. All over the

world there are different views on the elementia gene and now only the governments take

interest in it. I just wanna know why God bless us with elementia. Andy shivered, noticing

that while thinking her body radiated a blue glow, the steam was growing into a thick fog

and the temperature was dropping in the bathroom. She immediately stopped glowing upon

realizing that she was the cause and temperature stabilized as she got out of the shower

she concentrated on her body holding her hands up to her sides and the water collected into balls of water; which she then gently tossed into the tub.now dry she dressed and went to

  sleep.
