From Zero to Zenith—The New Colors of Identity

As the first rays of morning fell upon the Pishan Hills, they were not just the light of a new day, but the dawn of a new era in Arthur's life. Arthur was descending the mountain slopes, supporting his sister Annie. His clothes were torn in several places, and his body was covered in dust and dried blood stains, but there was no longer that limp in his gait that had caused him to be looked down upon by society for years.

Suddenly, Annie, who was walking with Arthur's support, came to a halt. Her eyes were fixed on Arthur's feet. She noticed that Arthur was walking on the rugged, uneven rocks with such speed and strength, without any support or limp, as if he had never been disabled at all.

She jerked her hand away from Arthur and stopped him. Her eyes held surprise mixed with an unknown fear.

"Brother... stop," Annie's voice was trembling. "How... how are you doing this? Your left leg... which was lifeless for years, which you couldn't even stand on properly... how did it suddenly get better? And how are you walking so fast?"

Arthur froze for a moment. He knew this question would come, but the suspicion and sisterly love hidden in Annie's eyes made him emotional. He grabbed Annie's shoulders and looked deep into her eyes.

"Annie... when they took you away from me in that lab, when I heard your screams, something inside me broke. I don't know what it was—perhaps a miracle, or perhaps a strength born from a brother's desperation. In that moment, I felt that if I didn't stand up today, I would lose you forever."

Annie touched his leg, weeping. "But brother, the doctors used to say this could never be cured. Was it some kind of magical medicine they gave you?"

Arthur comforted her, saying, "They performed many experiments on me, Annie. Perhaps it was their poison itself that awakened the sleeping nerves in my body. But whatever this is, it's an opportunity for us. I am no longer disabled; now I can protect you from the whole world. Are you not happy with your brother's new strength?"

Annie embraced him. "I am very happy, brother... I'm just scared that we might have to pay a heavy price for all of this."

  "It's okay, Annie. Let's go."

  "Yes."

Arthur thought to himself, "We cannot go to Luna City in this condition. We need money and resources."

He thought about the bag full of money he had hidden outside the cave earlier; it was now hanging from his shoulders along with a black knife. Arthur looked at the phone he had taken from a dead guard, but its battery was dead. A bitter smile appeared on his face.

As they approached the road, Arthur began to think about the vast amount of money in the bag. "I must remain vigilant. Spending a lot of money suddenly might make Annie suspicious." He decided he would use this money slowly over time.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

"Alright, but my personal bank account doesn't have that much right now. This is my 'black money'," Arthur acted wisely. He didn't want to scare Annie; if she knew there was so much money in the bag, she would ask many questions that would be very difficult to explain.

Just then, a luxury tourist bus appeared parked by the roadside. It was a group from the most expensive 'St. Xavier's College' in Luna City, who had come to Pishan City for a camp at historical sites. A few boys and girls were standing near the bus, enjoying the fresh air.

Seeing Arthur approaching with Annie in that condition, a boy from the group named 'Toni' stepped forward. Toni looked quite dashing and was wearing an expensive jacket.

"Hey brother! Are you guys okay? Was there an accident?" Toni asked casually. Seeing Arthur's condition, Toni felt a bit strange, but once he saw Annie clinging to her brother, he didn't care to think further.

Arthur replied composedly, "We just lost our way. My sister isn't feeling well."

Without a second thought, Toni pulled an extra 'Supreme' brand oversized shirt from his bag and gave it to Arthur. "Take this, man. Your shirt is completely shredded. Put this on," Toni said in a friendly tone. "It's not right to walk around like that."

As soon as Arthur put on the shirt, the girls standing nearby began whispering among themselves. Arthur's height was now around 6 feet 1 inch. His muscles made their strength felt even through the shirt. There was a depth in his eyes that could draw anyone in.

Standing apart from the group was Cassie Stone. She was the daughter of the biggest business house in Sun City. Cassie wore a black designer jumpsuit, with a fine gold chain and small diamond studs glittering in her ears. Her hair waved in the wind, and there was a natural pride on her face.

She removed her sunglasses and looked Arthur up and down. She felt as if she were looking at a rural boy, but Arthur's 'Aura' was telling her something else.

Cassie said to her friend Meera, "Meera, look at this guy. Even in torn clothes, he stands like an 'Alpha'. His body... it doesn't look like the product of a gym; it's natural strength."

Meera said softly, "And look at his sister, how innocent and beautiful she is. It seems they are from a high-status family who have fallen into trouble."

Cassie was becoming a bit suspicious of Arthur. "Is he an Evolver like me? But I've never seen him at the Royal Academy. Forget it, I've only come here to travel for fun."

Just then, Cassie's mobile phone rang. She stepped away to take the call. As soon as she received it, her mother's scolding voice was heard.

"Cassie! Where are you wandering without telling me? Principal Doom called! He was complaining that you beat up a boy so badly he's in the hospital. And you don't attend classes properly; you go off alone just to evolve! Listen daughter, the Leaf Planet is very dangerous, as your father says. So go in a team, understand?"

Cassie replied slowly, "Okay, Mom. I'm just sightseeing here. I'll send some photos later; you can put them on your status to make that grumpy Principal jealous. Okay, hanging up now. I'm with my friends."

Toni asked Arthur, "By the way, where are you guys heading?"

Arthur replied slowly, "We were lost. Could you give me and my sister a lift?"

Toni looked at his companions and said, "Alright, you can come with us. My name is Toni, what's yours?"

Walking toward the bus, Arthur said, "I'm Arthur. This is my sister, Annie."

After boarding the bus, Arthur tried to let Annie sleep with her head in his lap. Arthur wanted to call his mother to tell her they were safe and coming home, but he postponed it due to the crowd. Annie looked at Arthur with her blurred eyes. She could feel Arthur's changed face and his powerful arms.
