Chapter 15: “The Children of Light”
Scene: Konoha Hospital – Nightfall
Rain lightly tapped against the glass. A hush of anticipation hung in the air.
From behind the white doors of the maternity ward, a baby’s sharp cry echoed into the corridor.
Naruto stood frozen. His eyes widened, his hands trembled. Beside him, Sasuke tensed, his usual stoic mask breaking into soft awe.
Shizune emerged from the doors, breathless but smiling.
Shizune:
“It’s a boy, Naruto.”
The world stopped for him.
Naruto’s knees buckled, tears already streaming down his face as he stumbled forward and held the tiny bundle swaddled in blue.
Naruto (voice cracking):
“Boruto… my son…”
Yuta stood behind, staring anxiously at the doors. His small hands clenched into his sleeves.
Yuta (softly):
“Mama… is she okay?”
Shizune crouched beside him with a tender smile.
Shizune:
“She’s strong, like always. You wanna meet your little brother?”
Yuta looked at the newborn, then gently shook his head.
Yuta:
“Later… I’ll wait for Mama. He has Dad now. I’ll wait for her.”
Shizune nodded, deeply touched. So much heart in such a small boy.

Sasuke paced like a madman. Back and forth, back and forth. His cloak swirled with each step.
Ryuota, arms folded like a mini clone, mirrored him step for step.
Kakashi (amused):
“Sasuke raised that boy more than Sakura did, huh? He’s like a chibi version of him. A little brooding prince.”
Shikamaru:
“My wife’s due in five days. Guess I’ll be pacing the same way soon.”
Choji (laughing):
“Nah, you’ll be too lazy to even stand.”
Laughter eased the tension in the room, just as another cry broke through — softer this time, yet equally miraculous.
Sasuke and Ryuota stopped. Dead silence.
They pressed their ears to the door.
Sasuke (whisper):
“A girl… just like your mom said.”
Shizune stepped out, her arms full of warmth and life.
Shizune:
“She’s here, Sasuke.”
Without hesitation, Sasuke summoned his Susanoo arm, carefully cradling his newborn daughter.
For a moment, the intimidating chakra construct moved with delicate precision — a weapon cradling a miracle.
Sasuke (softly):
“...Sarada…”
Ryuota bowed to Shizune with all the dignity of a shinobi decades older.
Ryuota:
“Please… take care of Mama Sakura.”
Then he ran to Sasuke’s side, climbed onto his lap, and together, they held the baby. Ryuota’s hand brushed Sarada’s cheek.
Sasuke (quietly):
“She’s beautiful… isn’t she?”
Ryuota (voice shaking):
“Yeah…”
Their tears fell at the same time — one a father, the other a brother-son hybrid forged by fate, both softened by the arrival of a new light.
Kakashi (watching):
“Damn… those two. Copy and paste.”
Iruka (smiling):
“If she’s anything like Sakura and Sasuke, Sarada’s gonna be a storm.”
Kakashi (groaning):
“And we’re all gonna suffer.”
Scene: Toneri’s Moon Temple – Cocoon Room
Toneri stood in shadow, watching from afar.
His hand hovered near the window as he saw Yuta and Ryuota smiling together, surrounded by love.
Toneri (to himself):
“I couldn’t bring myself to disturb them…”
He turned away, walking slowly to the glowing cocoon that pulsed quietly in the Moon’s hidden chambers.
He sat beside it, back leaning on its shell.
Toneri:
“You were right… If they had family, love… they wouldn’t be monsters. I see it now. They’re happy… truly happy.”
The cocoon glowed softly — as if hearing him.
Then… a voice.
Aria (faintly from cocoon):
“When Yuta and Ryuota turn fourteen… I’ll meet them. Until then… protect the Earth, my knight.”
Toneri closed his eyes, overwhelmed by emotion, and placed a hand over his heart.
Toneri (whispers):
“Until then… I swear it.”
The glow faded… but hope now radiated stronger than ever.
