Chapter 52 — “Spring Season”

  Scene: Hokage’s Office — Night

Moonlight sliced through the blinds. Naruto shuffled papers at his desk; Sasuke leaned against the wall, arms folded like a blade. Hinata sat close by, eyes worried. Sakura fiddled with a pen.

Naruto (calm): “A high-ranking official’s visiting Konoha tomorrow — Princess Segawa from the Shin Clan.”

Sasuke (arching an eyebrow): “Isn’t she the one who supposedly gets any guy she wants?”

  Naruto (dry): “Yep. That one.”

Hinata’s hand tightened in her lap.

Hinata (instantly protective): “She better stay far away from my babies.”

Naruto rubbed the back of his neck, uneasy.

Naruto: “She insists on meeting Ryouta. Wants him as her personal guard.”

  Hinata’s brow crumpled.

Hinata: “But we kept Ryouta and Yuta hidden. They’re not even from this world — they’re variant sons from another universe.”

Sakura’s smile faded; her voice went soft.

Sakura: “We didn’t want them to feel like orphans. It wasn’t their fault Asmodeous destroyed their original worlds…”

Hinata looked down, the hurt clear.

Hinata (quiet): “They lost everything. Even their real parents.”

Sakura swallowed and continued in an even voice.

Sakura: “Ryouta’s biological parents were Madara and Kaguya. Yuta… he was born of Naruto in that world — full Six Paths Sage power — and me, Hinata, with Hamura blood. That’s why Yuta inherited both lineages.”

  Naruto’s expression darkened.

Naruto: “And yet even with those powers… they couldn’t stop Asmodeous.”

Sasuke’s eyes held a memory like a blade.

Sasuke (haunted): “I remember Kaguya dying in that alternate world. She begged me to protect her son. Now Ryouta lives on — carrying my name. Yuta carries Naruto’s face.”

The door creaked; Kakashi slipped in, raising a hand.

Kakashi: “If you three are done with tragic flashbacks, Segawa’s arrived.”

Naruto stood, trying to shake off the heaviness.

Naruto (forcing cheer): “Right. Let’s go meet her. Her clan’s wealthy — from Sunagakure.”

  Sasuke’s jaw tightened.

Sasuke (low): “If she touches my son, I’m going rogue. I bathed that kid. He’s mine. My ninja way.”

  Sakura rolled her eyes, smirking.

Sakura (teasing): “You mean the same son you forgot to pick up from kindergarten?”

  Sasuke blushed, muttering.

  Sasuke: “That was one time…”

  Scene: Café — Late Evening

Segawa sat like a crowned storm, elegance and danger wrapped in silk. Naruto and Sasuke exchanged glances across the table. Sarada and Sakura hovered nearby. Segawa’s gaze went straight to the photo Naruto had—Ryouta’s face staring back.

Segawa (coolly, sipping tea): “I’ve made my decision. I want him as my personal guard.”

Naruto (attempting diplomacy): “Perhaps someone else from our elite unit—”

Segawa waved him off without looking away from the picture.

Segawa: “I said Ryouta. That Sasuke DNA. Tall. Brooding. Perfect. He’s the breed I need for my protection.”

Sasuke nearly choked on his drink.

Sasuke (deadpan): “Can I Kirin her?”

  Naruto suppressed a laugh.

Naruto: “Let her crash and burn on her own.”

Sasuke and Sakura said the same thing at the same time, flat and unanimous.

  Sasuke & Sakura: “Agreed.”

Scene: Beneath the Sakura Tree — Midnight

A blanket, faint stars, and the hush of the garden. Ryouta slept with his head in Sakura’s lap. She stroked his hair with gentle fingers; peace hung over them.

  Sakura smiled down at him.

Sakura: “What do you want to be someday?”

Ryouta’s eyes were half-closed, honest in sleep.

Ryouta (soft): “Someone worth protecting… someone who protects.”

Sarada peered from behind the trunk, glasses crooked, cheeks hot.

  Sarada (muttering): “Papa’s calling… gotta… go…”

She fled, flustered, leaving Sakura and Ryouta blinking in confusion. Sakura laughed softly, more fond than amused.

  Scene: Hokage’s Office — Morning

Segawa swept in like a gust of summer wind. Ryouta and Himawari trailed behind, both still a little groggy from the night. The room froze for a beat.

Segawa’s smile was bright, sharp as a blade.

Segawa (beaming): “There he is. I choose you, Ryouta. I want the Sasuke breed.”

Eyes around the room twitched. Sasuke cracked his knuckles, a dark promise in the motion.

Sasuke (dangerous): “I’m gonna Kirin this woman.”

  Naruto crossed his arms, amused.

Naruto (calm): “No. Let her mess up and we’ll watch.”

Sakura buried her face in her palm, deadpan.

Sakura: “Remind me to erase her memory later.”

The office hummed with tension — pride and protectiveness, politics and absurdity. Outside, spring made the world soft and dangerous at once: petals fell like confetti as Konoha prepared for the storm.
