Chapter 73 – “Those Who Carry the Legacy”

Himawari’s arms shook violently as she struggled through her push-ups.

Sweat dripped onto the wooden floor.

  Yahiko:

“C’mon, little girl. You look like someone who’ll run crying to her big brother the moment life hits her.”

Himawari’s elbows nearly gave out—Yahiko grabbed her gi and pulled her back into form.

  Yahiko:

“If you can’t even say ‘no,’ then tell me—why are you pushing yourself this hard?”

  Himawari’s breathing was ragged.

  But her eyes…burned.

  Himawari:

“There’s… someone… who has always caught me when I fall.

Someone whose back… is broad enough to shield the world.

  He’d be my protector, always…

But this time… I want to protect him.”

  Yahiko raised an eyebrow.

  Yahiko:

“So just say you love your dad.”

  Himawari’s face went red instantly.

  Himawari:

  “…Y-Yeah. I’m doing this… for Papa Naruto.”

  Yahiko smirked proudly.

Yuta sat alone, the old Hyūga scriptures spread before him, ancient ink glowing faintly under the lantern light.

  Footsteps approached.

  Kiko:

“So you’re Yuta. I’m Kiko—Masio’s stepwife. Nice to meet you, child.”

  Yuta:

  “Welcome, Miss Kiko.”

He didn’t lift his eyes from the page.

  Kiko:

“And what pushes you to want the clan leader’s seat? Power? Duty? Pride?”

Yuta closed the book gently, stood, and spoke with calm determination.

  Yuta:

  “No. Only one thing.

I will do anything in this world… for my mother’s smile.”

  Kiko’s stern expression softened.

  Kiko:

“I’m glad Hinata has a child like you.”

Yuta bowed deeply to her in respect.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

Then he quietly returned to his studies.

Boruto collapsed onto the floor, chest heaving after an hour of nonstop sparring.

Toneri walked toward him, expression unreadable.

  Toneri:

“You train like a man possessed.

You haven’t even pulled those Uzumaki chains from your body yet…

  So tell me—why this desperation?”

Boruto rose, fists clenched, chains wrapped around his torso glowing faintly.

  Boruto:

“Because… I have a brother who will become the God-Killer.

He’ll kill Shibai with his own hands.

  And that day…

I want to be the one who seals Shibai—

…so Sylus never has to reincarnate again.

  And this time…

I want the world to see that Sylus’ current brother didn’t lose.”

Toneri burst into loud laughter—so loud it echoed through the entire moon.

  Toneri:

“You’re becoming prideful. Just like me.

  Good.

But a man should be egoistic only if he’s strong.”

  Boruto:

  “I am strong!”

He lunged forward and kicked Toneri in the chest.

Toneri grinned and activated the Tenseigan in both eyes—the temple trembling.

  Toneri:

“Alright then, child. From now on…

  It’s kill or be killed.

  Come.”

  Boruto:

  “Gladly!”

He drew in moon chakra—the surface trembled—

A Rasengan formed in his hand, but it twisted with floating crater-like orbs.

  Boruto:

  “MOON RASEGAN!!!”

The attack slammed into Toneri, exploding in a blast of lunar light.

  Toneri laughed even harder.

Eida hovered above her bed, Senrigan spinning.

She watched everything—Himawari sweating through training, Yuta studying like a monk, Boruto fighting like a wild comet.

  Eida:

“All Naruto’s kids… preparing for the hunt.

  But for Boruto?

  It’s the world versus Konoha.”

Suddenly, dozens of daimyo soldiers broke into her room.

  Eida:

  “Oh? Bold of you.”

  She released her charm—

All soldiers immediately collapsed to their knees.

  Eida:

  “Who sent you?”

  Soldiers (in unison):

  “Ren Nohara.

  He wants Naruto’s children dead.”

Eida’s expression shifted into a cold, cruel smile.

  Eida:

  “Ren Nohara…

  Don’t worry.

I’ll handle the kids until Naruto’s children

  …are ready to fight you.”

Her laughter echoed like a goddess descending.
