Chapter 76 — “The Sunflower & The Storm”

Yuta was reviewing reports when the doors suddenly slammed open.

  Masio rushed in, sweating, panicked.

  Yuta blinked.

  “…Masio? What happened?”

Without hesitation, Masio dropped to his knees before the young Uzumaki.

  Masio:

  “Kid… forgive me.

My daughter… Yahiko… she was too harsh on your kid yesterday.”

  Yuta’s ears went red instantly.

  Yuta:

  “Jeez… get up, you idiot.

  You’re my right-hand man.

I’m the one who assigned Yahiko, remember?”

  Masio:

“But she insulted Himawari! Aren’t you angry!?”

  Yuta leaned back, arms folded.

  A tiny smile slipped out.

  Yuta:

  “…Surprisingly? I’m not.”

  Masio’s eyes widened.

  Masio:

  “WHYYY?!”

  Yuta exhaled slowly.

  The door slid open.

Himawari walked in — smiling — but bruises marked her legs and neck.

Yuta noticed first. Hinata noticed second.

  Hinata gently pulled Himawari closer.

“Hima… is this from your teacher? Did she hurt you?”

  Himawari quickly waved her hands.

  Himawari:

“No, no! I just fell when she countered my kick.”

Hinata began applying ointment, sighing softly.

  Hinata:

“If Boruto was here, he would’ve panicked so much…”

  Yuta smirked.

  Yuta:

“What do you think about your new teacher?”

  Himawari tapped her chin.

  Himawari:

  “Hmmm…

  She’s mean.”

  Yuta snorted. “Sounds accurate.”

  Himawari (proud):

  “But I like her!

I almost knocked her down, you know!”

She left to her room, humming happily.

Hinata cracked a soft, knowing smile.

  Hinata:

  “Yahiko getting a student… that’s rare.

Kids quit after one day with her.”

Yuta looked at the hallway where Himawari disappeared, and let out a proud breath.

  Yuta:

  “That’s our Hima.”

  Hinata:

  “…That’s my daughter.”

  They shared a warm smile.

Masio felt a weight lift from his chest.

  He actually smiled.

  Masio:

  “…Come out, Yahiko.”

From behind the wall, Yahiko stepped forward.

  Eyes red.

  Hands shaking.

  Tears slipping down her cheeks.

  Yahiko:

  “She… she likes me…?”

  Her voice cracked.

  Yahiko:

“I thought I made another kid hate me.”

Yuta placed a hand on her head.

  Yuta:

  “Trust me.

  Himawari is a sunflower.”

  Yahiko sniffed.

  Yuta:

  “She doesn’t hate anyone.

Especially not someone who trains her to be stronger.”

Yahiko stepped forward and suddenly hugged him tight.

  Yuta went beet-red.

  Yuta:

  “H-Hey— I’m still a kid, you know—”

  Yahiko:

“Just shut up and hug back.”

  Yuta sighed, trapped.

  Yuta:

“…I’m being bullied into becoming an emotional pillow.”

  Yahiko smirked into his shoulder.

  Yahiko:

  “That’s your problem now.”

  The window burst open.

Eida flew in, hair whipping like a storm.

  Eida:

  “Naruto! Sasuke!

  I found them.

The ones influencing every daimyō to capture Boruto.”

  Sasuke stepped forward, eyes narrowed.

  Sasuke:

“Boruto is safe on the moon.

  But who would even—?”

Before he could finish, a rumbling chakra filled the room.

Naruto stood up from his chair.

  His face serious.

  His aura sharpening.

  Kurama’s chakra stirred.

  Naruto’s voice dropped an octave.

  Naruto:

  “…Let’s jump on them.”

  Bayron Mode ignited.

  The room trembled.

  Sasuke smirked.

  Eida’s eyes widened.

  Shikamaru cursed under his breath.

  Naruto cracked his neck once.

  Naruto:

  “No one touches my son.”
