Chapter 31

  Chapter 31

“Wooo, that place was hot,” Amos yelled. The two returned to the Skidbladnir with the miniature Zero Point Module as well as the body of Sha’re with them. Reva quickly walked over to the Resurrection Chamber containing Sha’re’s body and began cutting off the cloth covering her corpse. Over two years had passed since the death of Sha’re and her body had rapidly decayed. Was this the same woman who turned the heads of every man, and drew the unwelcome gaze of the system Lord Apophis? Only time – and hope – would tell if Amos and Reva’s quest was not in vain.

“Done!” Reva declared, finally unveiling Sha’re’s remains, now a haunting shadow of her former self.

Amos gently closed the translucent lid of the Resurrection Chamber, a high-tech coffin adorned with a monitor and touchpad. “Here goes nothing,” he murmured, activating the device. Freyr, ever the voice of caution in their group, approached the chamber with a Lantean blaster gripped tightly in his hand. Amos and Reva exchanged a wary glance as Freyr steadied the weapon.

“What? We can’t be too careful. We have no idea what might happen.”

A sudden surge of white mist enveloped the chamber, obscuring the withered figure within. “The nanites!” Reva exclaimed, her voice tinged with excitement. “They’re actually working!” She quickly reached for her virtual pad, scrutinizing the influx of data emitted by the nanites. “Complete cellular regeneration. They’re generating new flesh, new organs— they’re actively reconstructing her body,” Reva explained.

“What about the Goa’uld symbiote?” Amos asked, a hint of concern in his tone. “Are they taking it out too?”

“Indeed, they are. The nanites have entirely dissolved the parasite, and the human form is being rebuilt,” Reva confirmed, her eyes sparkling with the thrill of success.

In mere moments, the once cloudy haze had dissipated, revealing not a decrepit corpse but a striking woman with porcelain skin and cascading dark hair.

“Damn,” Amos thought, his mind racing to keep his thoughts under wraps in front of Reva. Sha’re was undeniably beautiful. Her soft skin and curvaceous figure were captivating, and he could easily see why Amunet had chosen her as a host. Yet Amos had vowed to himself that he wouldn’t cross that line—he’d have to return Sha’re to Daniel eventually. Still, her beauty was mesmerizing, and despite his best efforts, he found it impossible to tear his gaze away from her perfect form resting in the chamber.

  “Amos.”

“Amos,” said Reva for a second time.

Amos had been lost in thought as he was staring at Sha’re’s resurrected body. The replicator had done the trick and her body was unmistakably brand new.

“Yes, Reva. What is it?” said Amos trying to hide his emotions.

“She needs clothes,” Reva pointed out, still being sweet and subtle.

Amos had forgotten to get Sha’re some new clothes.

Suddenly, the renewed body began to move and Sha’re, who once was dead and buried, opened her eyes and was filled with new life.

Reva printed a long blanket to cover up Sha’re as she skurried back to life.

“Where am I?” said Sha’re as she looked around the old Asgard science vessel.

“You are on board a ship, an Asgard science vessel called the Skidbladnir,” Amos answered. Sha’re rose from the Resurrection Chamber wrapped in the long blanket that Reva had printed for her.

“Reva, could you print her one of the uniforms we gave the science officers on Taranis,” Amos requested, trying not to stare too long at Sha’re.

“Why yes, my love, right away; submission is my reason for being.” said Reva. Amos had forgotten that he had made the perfect woman. There was not a hint of jealousy in her; not a hint of hate. If he would have said the same thing to his ex, she would have responded in kind.

Reva had printed a small dress along with a pair of black lingerie to go underneath. The crew sat down while Sha’re went into the restroom to change. When she came out, she was wearing a short blue dress going only half way to her knees. With her long curly hair, and short blue dress, Sha’re was easily as beautiful as Reva who donned the appearance of Taylor Russel. It took half his mental strength as well as the power of the Ancients to stop looking down her legs and open his mouth welcoming Sha’re on board their ship.

“Sha’re, allow me to introduce myself,” he said, forcing his voice to steady. “I’m Amos Fyree. This is Reva, and over there is Freyr, the captain of this vessel.”

A flicker of confusion and fear danced in Sha’re’s eyes as she replied, “I was dead, wasn’t I?”

“Yes,” Amos affirmed, carefully choosing his next words. “I’m a protégé of Dr. Jackson. He told me about you, and we came here to test a new device that can bring the dead back to life.”

“Danyel! Is my Danyel here?” blurted Sha’re.

“No, not yet,” Amos informed her. Daniel is currently unaware that we have come to Abydoss to resurrect you. We have been on a mission over the past several months to recruit allies and technologies to do battle with the Goa’uld. We got our hands on a Goa’uld sarcophagus and made modifications to it to bring back people who had been dead for a long time. We were actually hoping you would join us on our journey until we meet Daniel. There is going to be a meeting with the most advanced worlds in three galaxies at the end of the year and Earth, along with SG-1, will be there.

“Why don’t you meet with Daniel’s planet now?” said Sha’re.

“Because I’m also from Earth, and we don’t want Earth’s government preventing us from completing our mission before we had accumulated enough power to take out the Goa’uld,” answered Amos.

Freyr, who was standing behind Reva and Amos, walked up to the shy woman, “If you are anxious to get back home, I can have my people meet with us and give you a ride back to the planet of your choosing.” A serious look took Sha’re’s face as she contemplated all that had happened to her over the past few years, as well as what her next steps should be.

“No.” she said assertively. “I’ll join you on your mission, at least until you have your meeting. I’ll do anything to get my revenge against the Goa'uld for what they did to me!”

“If that’s the case then,” Amos said to her with a smile growing on his face, “Welcome to the Lantean Commonwealth.”
