Chapter 61

  Chapter 61

A week had passed and everything had gotten back to normal in the dazzling new world of Alfheim. Amos was lounging about in the gateroom with Freya sitting on his lap, while Reva and Freyr were busy going over the city ship's many Lantean systems. It was at that moment, they received a message from O'thalla revealing some troubling news.

"It's High Chancellor Penegal,"said Reva as his face appeared on the viewing screen.

Freyr got up from his station and walked over to greet his high chancellor.

"Hail! Chancellor Penegal, for what pleasure do I have greeting you today?"

"Hail Freyr, I am contacting you over a serious matter that has recently transpired," said Penegal anxiety etched across his features.

Amos, overhearing Penegal's words, moved Freya aside and walked up to the viewing screen.

"What's going on Chancellor Penegal? Has something awful transpired?" asked Amos standing right beside Freyr.

Penegal exhaled with grief, then lifted up his head and said, "A little while ago, three Goa'uld vessels were discovered over Adara II."

"Wait, that's a member of the Protective Planet's Treaty?"said Reva, with a growing look of concern on her face.

"You're absolutely right, lady Reva,"said the aged leader of the Asgard. "As a result we have dispatched Thor, Supreme Commander of the Asgard Fleet, to investigate this blatant infringement of one of our Protective Planets."

"Wait, Chancellor Penegal" said Amos, "This sounds awfully like the situation I warned you about at the beginning of the year."

"We are aware," responded Penegal in a somber tone. "That is why we have contacted you and Freyr to request that you go to Adara II to assist commander Thor. Besides the Biliskinir, you command the only Asgard vessels close enough to intervene in case a catastrophe might occur."

Amos nodded his head in agreement and said, "Don't worry Penegal, we'll be on our way."

"Thank you Amos, and good luck," said Penegal as the viewing screen went dark.

Freyr, bothered by Penegal's words, looked up at Amos and said, "Amos if these are the same type of Ha'Tak vessel that appeared over Hebridan, then the Supreme Commander could perish.

Amos crossed his arms and looked down at his small grey friend and said, "Yes, you're right. That's why we need all hands on deck for this even though we're only dealing with three mother ship."

Amos thought about the battle over Hebridan as well as the hostage situation at the Southern Isles Children's Hospital. That ship — those shields — were only a prototype. Still it took the combined efforts of both the Samantha Carter and Hebridean dreadnaughts to bring it down. If we were going to be victorious we would need the entire Commonwealth fleet.

While Amos was thinking, Oprah Winfrey ran into the gate room accompanied by none other than Sha're wearing only a pair of pajamas, a bathrobe, and slippers.

  "Your majesty!"she exclaimed.

"What is it, Oprah!" said Amos.

  "I believe Sha're had a vision."

Amos had recalled the last vision Sha're had on P3X-439 after she downloaded the knowledge of the Ancients. There was a battle; a vicious battle underway on an unidentified planet. Weapons and shields clashed between Goa'uld Ha'Tak vessels and ships of unknown origin. Could Sha're be having yet another dream pertaining to this battle? Or what else could be on her mind that she would require an elven escort.

"Sha're, tell me, what did you see in your vision,"asked Amos.

"Was it the battle with the Goa'uld?" pushed Freyr.

Sha're quickly tried to catch her breath, having ran all the way over to the control tower from her Penthouse on the Eastern pier.

"Tell us, Sha're what did you see, was it the Goa'uld? a Ha'Tak? Something else?

"No, Amos, it was Daniel," she exclaimed. "It was SG-1".
