I actually pulled the class information up from the Encyclopedia. It had everything organized based on tier.
Class: Novice
A Novice has a desire to enter the artisanal arts, but has yet to decide what to do. They gain additional skill acquisition for Performance, Art, or Crafting skills, but no bonuses to skill leveling.
+1 to Dexterity per level
+1 to Perception per level
+1 to Insight per level
Max Level: 20
Increased Skill Acquisition for: Art, Crafting, and Performance based skills
Enhanced Focus trait
Class: Initiate
An Initiate is one who has begun their journey into the magical arts. Whether you are an aspiring Elementalist, Mage, or Wizard, this class gives bonuses that will help all magic oriented classes. Note: This class does not provide Mana, Mana Control, or Mana Power. Those stats must be acquired through alternative means.
+1 to Intelligence per level
+1 to Perception per level
+1 to Insight per level
Max Level: 20
Increased Skill Acquisition for: Knowledge, Manipulation, and Meta skills.
Notepad system function unlocked
Class: Trainee
A Trainee has begun the path of physical combat. They spend their days training with weapons, exercise, and practicing forms. This class can branch out easily into various types of Warriors, Archers, or Soldiers. Increases Skill Acquisition and Leveling of most Combat, Tactical, or Movement skills.
+1 to Strength per level
+1 to Agility per level
+1 to Endurance per level
Max Level: 20
Increased Skill Acquisition for: Combat, Tactical, and Movement skills.
Second Wind trait
Class: Acolyte
An Acolyte puts their faith in something else, and draws on it for inspiration. An alternative magic based class, Acolytes often focus more on external sources of power than internal. This is the start of various Priest, Holy Warrior, or Druidic classes.
+1 to Insight per level
+1 to Intelligence per level
+1 to Charisma per level
Max Level: 20
Increased Skill Acquisition for: Communication, Knowledge, and Nature skills
External Mana Manipulation trait acquired
Class: Sneak
Sneaks are classes that dislike standing out. The shadows and rooftops are their friends, and often find the belongings of others are now their own. Sneaks are the precursor to Thief, Rogue, or Scout oriented classes.
+1 to Agility per level
+1 to Dexterity per level
+1 to Perception per level
Max Level: 20
Increased Skill Acquisition for: Stealth, Perception, and Movement skills
Misdirection trait acquired
Class: Outdoorsman
Outdoorsmen are comfortable away from cities and towns. They would rather travel the forests and fields than settle down. An Outdoorsman focuses on hunting, gathering, or harvesting to provide for themselves or others.
+1 Endurance per level
+1 Constitution per level
+1 Perception per level
Max Level: 20
Increased Skill Acquisition for: Hunting, Harvesting, and Tracking skills
Backpacking trait acquired
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Of the six options, I was honestly leaning towards Outdoorsman.
I hadn’t started learning any stealthy skills and didn’t really need more Agility at the moment. I already had External Mana Manipulation, so Acolyte wasn’t as interesting with a focus on stats that were already over 30. Initiate just made me annoyed because I’d just bought the Note function, though I didn’t know what a ‘meta’ skill was. Trainee and Novice could be useful as well though…
I scratched the top of my head as I considered what I wanted more of at the moment. Well, theoretically I can swap between them whenever. At an EXP cost, but still… With a shrug, and a minor effort of will, I made my way to the class menu and selected Outdoorsman. I barely hesitated as I hit Yes when asked if I was sure I wanted to change to Outdoorsman.
I felt a small surge of something. I checked my character sheet to see if something changed.

Inventory
I noticed a new section listing the various functions I’d purchased. To me they looked like little pictures whenever I thought about accessing my functions. The traits I’d already selected were there, and everything else I’d expected.
Then I tried swapping to Trainee.
The Strength, Endurance, and Agility stats all went up by one and I got the Second Wind trait.
Second Wind
Temporarily doubles Endurance to give the user a burst of energy. After the time limit, will suffer exhaustion. Usable once per 20 hours.
And the Backpacking trait.
Backpacking
Increases maximum carry weight, anything carried will feel significantly lighter to the user. Gain the Traction Skill.
“Neat.” I said out loud after reading the descriptions. And the total level had gone up to 32. The Treasury trait too. “I still think Outdoorsman would be best to use on the trip.” And after last night she didn’t want to risk complications from getting too many stats at once.
Now that I’d settled class things, I decided to finish the last three traits I needed to pick for Intelligence, Insight, and Charisma. I started with Intelligence.
Researcher
Gain the Note, Encyclopedia, Map, and the Scan spell. If spell is already known, increase Tier by 1. Acquire Knowledge skills faster.
Range Finder
Gain a visual guide of the trajectory of your launched projectile. Accuracy is based on Mathematics skill and Perception.
Personal Library
Gain the Library feature. Books you touch will be stocked in your personal LIbrary. You may read from a screen or summon a temporary copy of the book to share that disappears one hour after being conjured.
I glared at the Researcher trait. I didn’t consider the EXP wasted on those features, but it was frustrating to be reminded about it.
Range finder looked interesting, though I wasn’t sure if I’d need that kind of help. I wasn’t hoping to fight something past 30 meters. Which really only left the Library. I’d be able to reference books using the system and grab some of the adventure novels too.
Then it was Insight’s turn.
Personal Assistant
Gain an AI to assist in organizing your inventory and assisting with Library functions. Has basic speech recognition. Can be improved with EXP.
Precognition
Using a mixture of Insight and Perception, gain an awareness of the opponent’s next moves. Visual only.
Attentive Student
When training, skill acquisition and increase are slightly increased. When being taught be a teacher, doubles the effect the Teacher skill has on you.
I grabbed Attentive Student.
I didn’t want something in my head with me and the awareness sounds like something that would require a lot of time to get used to.
Last was Charisma.
Enhanced Aura Manipulation
You learned how to use your raw aura. Now you’re work has increased your manipulation and control. You can work your aura with more finesse.
Mana Conduit
Your aura acts as a conductor for magic. Increases the speed of spell casting, both inner and exterior, based on Charisma.
Shroud of Zeratus
You gain an aura that turns people away. They won’t look in your direction or notice anything you do, that isn’t too unusual. If feasible they will move out of your way.
All three options were tempting. I wasn’t comfortable with any of the auras I had access to, so Enhanced Aura Manipulation wouldn’t be useful. I didn’t know any way to directly harm someone with my aura either.
Mana Conduit would just make magic easier, and I was looking forward to learning more magic.
Shroud of Zeratus looked really useful for sneaking around. I wasn’t sure I needed something to help me sneak like that. I took a look through the shop for the traits and I found both for millions of EXP each, which didn’t help.
I eventually decided it by admitting that I didn’t like the idea of sneaking around. Which meant Mana Conduit was the best choice of the three.
And with that, I was done.
