Hardcover draw Results and Pre-order information

Hey folks! Carter here. This ‘chapter’ will serve two functions! One, it’ll remain when book 7 eventually gets pulled down for stubbing, if you need a bookmark. More importantly, though…

  It’s draw result time!!

That said, there have been a couple of quick changes.

Originally, I was going to do a total of four (4) books for the giveaway, but there was a lot more interest in hardcovers than I expected. So, instead, I have drawn ten (10) names. Huzzah! I will list out the names below, and send DMs (over the next day or two... we're heading out for X-mas dinner here shortly). If you get a DM from me (or you see your name below and for some reason the DM didn’t reach you yet), please send me your name, mailing address, and email address. Why the email address? Well, that’s for the swag / pre-order bonus, which I will finally announce after the names.

Without further ado, here are the names of our winners!

  Red14

  Cheeky_Moose

  Shayana

  Sevenbooks

  Aoth

  Visitingfan

  Evankarmis

  Neiziles

  Ranstang94

  Aurora1325

To all those who were drawn, congratulations! ??I’ll be placing the pre-orders directly through Indigo / Barnes and Noble, so the books will be shipped directly to you from there. As such, these won’t be signed or anything like that, but if you happened to be going to LitRPGCon or DragonCon and brought them with you… ??

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

To those who weren’t drawn, I’m sorry ?? I wish I could’ve picked more names, but this wasn’t a publisher-sponsored event, so it’s just me and my poor credit card placing the orders ??.

Like I said, watch your DMs. I’ll be sending out messages in the next day or two. If you are faster than me and see this post, feel free to send me your deets. I’d like to get these all ordered before the new year. You’ll have to wait until they release to get the physical copies, but there is a perk to the order going in sooner than that. See below!

Now then, I’m sure everybody is wondering about this swag we’ve been talking about. I don’t have all the details yet, but, when the hardcover version of Rune Seeker got announced, the publisher asked us to come up with a pre-order bonus. So, me and JM, we put our heads together for all of 0.2 seconds before we had an answer. Why? Because we’d already had an idea for this, just no chance to do it.

What is it you may ask?

A brand new, original Rune Seeker novella. We don’t have the blurb for it ready yet, but I can give you the general gist of it.

Back in book 3, I’m sure you all wondered what happened to Yanily between when he vanished in the Rise of Fallen Reach dungeon and when he reappeared back on Fallen Reach in the climactic battle against Fitch.

This is that story. Where he went. What he did. How he got back. And, maybe most importantly, this is the tale about the new friend that helped him accomplish all that. A powerful ally and world-weary Traveller.

  Capital T. ??

For pre-orders, Aethon is working on a way to get digital copies of this novella (as well as the 3 short stories we’ve put on RR that are Rune Seeker adjacent, all combined into one Tales From Rune Seeker) to the readers. That’s why I need your email address, so that as soon as it’s ready, you can get it.

For the time being, this novella will only be available as a pre-order bonus, though we’ve asked if it can eventually become more widely available. That’s going to be partially up to the publisher, but more on that to come in the future. I’ll be honest, right now, their focus is on getting Rune Seeker on shelves (which pre-orders will help do), and this will be more a discussion after the book officially releases in March.

I will say, though, this novella is epic. For the ‘short’ 45k words we put together, it’s one helluva story. And the villain in it? Whoo boy. It’s one you shouldn’t soon forget.

Anyway, that’s it from me for this!

Again, congratulations to our winners, and thank you everybody for your continued support of Rune Seeker. We wouldn’t be here, going into book 8, without you.

Merry X-mas, again, and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.

Enjoy the short story over the next few days, or we’ll see you when the final book starts up on Monday.

Man. Final book. I have so many mixed feelings. ??
