Vol.1 Chapter 1: A new word

  In a cemetery, located in an unknown location, two figures hidden by a black cloak arrived before what appeared to be an altar. A third figure, masked by a red cloak and with a few gold embroidery on the sleeves, stood in front of the small altar and opened a dirty book, with a brown cover and no title.

  "We are gathered here to begin the ritual that will grant us control not only of the kingdom of Ashen, but also of the empire of Nexia and all that lies beyond the mountains of the Freliord! The entire world will be ours! And neither the Theocracy nor the Archdemons can stop us!"

  Said the figure in the red cloak as he flipped through the pages of the book.

  "Oh, my followers! Thanks to ten years of hard work and much sacrifice, we have finally managed to recover the final page of the D?monFinsterer! The one that tells of the spell to gain the Absolute power! The voice of the universe will be at our service! The preparations are complete, only the finishing touch is missing, a double sacrifice! Advance, my most faithful! Today we will rewrite history!"

  He continued, pulling a staff from under the altar with his old, wrinkled hands, and pointing it at the two visibly astonished men in black cloaks.

  "Do not think of this as a betrayal, my dears. You will live again in a new world... A better world!"

  The man in the red cloak finished before hurling a beam of crimson light at the floor in front of the two adepts, causing a symbol, similar to a pentagram, to appear at their feet. As it formed, the sigil began to mutate, taking the shape of a red A within a circle, much to the surprise of the figure in red.

  "What?! The symbol is different from the one in the book! It's not the voice of the universe! Where did I go wrong? What am I summoning?"

  The masked man shouted in confusion, before the symbol began to absorb the energy of the two adepts, then generated a blinding light that began to engulf everything around it.

  Fear has been unleashed. The world as you knew it will no longer exist, it now belongs to him... Have a good day.

  ~the voice of the universe~

  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  A cool breeze entered through the small opening in the center of the glass window in front of a tall figure, intent on watching the leaves of the trees outside as they moved as one.
  He, Almodeus, Demon of Fear, could not have enjoyed that spectacle. Not from his tower located in hell, at least. He sighed and moved his right hand, looking at the red demonic energy covering it.
  Magic seems to be a thing here.
  The Absolute Lord moved the black cloak that covered his dark suit. He felt nothing strange. Could it all be in his head? No. Fooling him was practically impossible. Not in that way, at least.
  "Do you see what I'm seeing?"
  He asked to the little robotic subordinate next to him, trying to understand what was happening.
  "Unfortunately yes, my lord! This is not Absolute City, it doesn't even look like hell anymore! What...What does this mean?"
  Almodeus couldn't respond. He didn't know exactly what had happened, why he was there or who had summoned him. What he knew for sure was that he couldn't show doubt. A good leader must always be able to inspire his soldiers, just as he must be able to reassure them in the darkest moments.
  "Raise the alarm code to maximum and order all A.L. Bots to prepare for battle!"
  "R-Right away, L-Lord Almodeus!"
  The demon rose from his chair and then left the office. He immediately headed for the sixth floor of the Fear Tower, walking briskly, almost anxiously. Almodeus arrived in front of a door and opened it without hesitation, finding himself in the stands of a huge arena.
  The Fear Tower was anything but a normal tower. Almodeus had created it using the same dark ink he was composed of, and this had made evolve the building in a living construction, complete with consciousness and will of its own. Everything was possible within those walls, like the amphitheater before him, that had the size of sixty football fields. The laws of reality did not apply to that tower, just as they did not apply to its master.
  They should be here...
  He walked toward the amphitheater stands, approaching the front row. A beautiful woman with long crimson hair, brown eyes, and deep pink skin sat there. She seemed intent on watching the fight unfolding in the center of the amphitheater. However...
  "Oh? Hi, darling! Did you come to see them?"
  Noticing him, the woman greeted him warmly, as if she weren't facing to the Absolute Lord. There was a reason for all that confidence: she was C, Almodeus's beloved wife and second-in-command of his domains. She was pretty weak if compared to others being in the Fear Tower, being only around level 30. But she was really smart, probably one of the smartest there.
  "I'm here for another reason, quite urgent..."
  "No problem, they're almost finished anyway!"
  C motioned for him to sit next to her with her hand.
  "They're amazing! I could stare at them for hours!"
  Almodeus' gaze briefly followed his wife's, then returned to the woman.
  "Can I talk to you for a moment?"
  "Sure, tell me everything!"
  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  In the center of the arena, a two-on-two fight was taking place. On the right side there was a girl about two meters and twenty-two centimeters tall, red hair tied in a long ponytail. The first thing that caught the eye was her reddish right eye, in contrast to the left one, which was brown. She was wearing blue jeans and a light purple jacket, with a red T-shirt underneath. Her right hand pulsated with red demonic energy.

  She seemed to be having a blast fighting, but she didn't seem to view the fight as anything more than a game. His opponent was a monster with a single eye that coverd its entire face. It was a level 65 Fire Elemental.

  On the other side of the arena stood another woman. Unlike the first one, she was over three meters tall and very muscular, with a bulky body, milky white skin and purple eyes. She wore a white kimono with purple butterflies on it and covered her big breasts with a white sash.

  Unlike the other girl attitude, she was much more stoic and mature, so much so that she seemed truly focused on fighting her opponent, an Ice Elemental, also level 65.

  "Hey, Hirashi! Need a hand?"

  The red-haired one asked, approaching the other woman without a care for the dangers. She was giving her back to the opponent like she was invincible.

  "No.…You, Almodea?"

  "Nope! I'd say we should end it!"

  The Fire Elemental hurled a blast of flame at Almodea, who caught it head-on without receiving any damage. After that, she jumped up and hit the monster right in the eye with a double kick, piercing it from side to side, killing the Fire Elemental with ease. The creature's fractured skull fell back, falling to the ground along with the rest of its lifeless body.

  "See how cool that was?"

  "Yeah, that was really cool. Good job, dear sister..."

  The Ice Elemental attempted to crush Hirashi with its fist, swinging it at her like a mighty maul The pale woman simply parried the blow with her bare hands, then lifted the monster in its entirety above her head, as if it weighed nothing. With a precise and brutal movement, she slammed it to the ground like an ice cube, shattering it into a thousand pieces. In just a few seconds, two medium-level monsters had been easily eliminated.

  "Still the same old badass hottie, huh?"

  Almodea taunted the other cheerfully, poking her bicep with a finger, trying to annoy the older woman. Hirashi remained stoic as usual and shrugged, not really caring about the taunt.

  "At least I'm the only one who takes training seriously..."

  "Come on! We had fun!"

  The two began to argue joyfully, with Almodea making jokes and Hirashi answering her seriously, without batting an eyelid.

  "You girls were fantastic, as always!"

  C's applause interrupted the fake argument.

  "See how much I've become strong, Mom?"

  Almodea puffed out her chest, proud of her achievements.

  "Yes! You need something more difficult…Have you tried doing one against the other?"

  C's question completely broke the younger girl's confidence, and she was hesitant to answer.

  "Well...We..."

  "We fought each other 278 times."

  Hirashi intervened, transforming her kimono into a purple jacket. Her standard attire consisted of black pants, a gray top with a belt under her bust and dark jackets. Only her head and hands remained uncovered, along with her long white hair that reached the end of her back- hich was all telling, considering she was over three meters tall.

  "278 times? And how did it end?"

  "278 wins for me, 0 for Almodea."

  "Come on! I'm still learning, okay?! Besides, you're a practically invincible mountain of muscle! Of course I'm losing..."

  Almodea puffed out her cheeks like a child and crossed her arms, pretending to be offended.

  "The game is rigged! Facing Hirashi is like fighting a level 100 boss when you're just starting out the game!"

  "There's no need to be ashamed. After all, you're only 18, you still have a lot of room for improvement!"

  This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

  Almodeus intervened, approaching the group.

  "Dad! Have you seen me? I'm a force of nature!"

  "I know, little spot. You're both fabulous..."

  Almodea smiled at the playful nickname her father had been using since she was a baby. Hirashi, on the other hand, bowed reverently to the ruler of the tower.

  "Lord Almodeus, it's a pleasure to know that you approve of our performance..."

  "Raise your head, Hirashi! I already told you that you can call me informally! You're family!"

  "That's right! You're my giant, hot, super pumped and beautiful badass sister!"

  Almodea commented, crossing her thin arm with the much stronger one of the stoic giantess. She loved making that kind of comments. Despite not being genetically related, Hirashi and Almodea saw each other as sisters. The first was the older, tough and confident one, while the other played the role of the classic younger sister, immature and somewhat perverted.

  Hirashi, the daughter of the Chaos Queen. Her power goes well beyond level 100, even surpassing my daughter in strength. We're lucky to have her here with us.

  In Almodeaus's world, a level system was used to identify a being's power and battle difficulty, with the maximum limit being level 100. However, very few beings could exceed this limit; Almodeus himself was an example, known for possessing practically infinite power. His daughter Almodea was also above level 100, though she didn't reach his or Hirashi's power level. But that didn't mean she was any less dangerous, considering she was only 18 and already capable of destroying several kingdoms on her own.

  "Anyway, I'm here to talk to you about something..."

  Almodeus began, turning serious again.

  "It seems the entire Fear Tower has been transported to an unknown world."

  "An unknown world? We've been isekaized!"

  "Huh?"

  Unexpectedly, Almodea reacted positively to the news, while C seemed confused by the term she used.

  "Isekaized, Mom! Come on, you know what it means!"

  "Isek…What?"

  "It means otherworldly. Almodea and I have seen many anime that start like this. It's a very popular genre in Japan. In the human world..."

  "Thanks, Hirashi! I was completely lost..."

  After the clarification, Almodeus coughed forcefully to get his attention. He was secretly pleased that his daughter had taken the news so well.

  "What I wanted to tell you was that we're gearing up to fix the situation! During your fight, I sent some A.L. Bots out to scout."

  The A.L. Bots were a mechanical race born from the union of the dark ink that Almodeus was composed of and common metal. The race consisted of humanoid male automatons, each with its own mind and personality. They were extremely loyal to Almodeus, viewing him as their Absolute King. Moreover, they were a race with insectoid behaviors; in fact, they possessed a hive mind and were divided into classes. Each A.L. Bot had a role within the hive. In that world, however, it would have been better to use them only as servants and not as warriors, given the high cost of creating them. Only a few had any noteworthy power.

  "I understand. Do we know how to get home?"

  C asked, visibly worried by the news.

  "Not yet, darling. Speaking of which..."

  Almodeus' gaze moved to Hirashi, who remained stoic as ever.

  "Do you think this is your father's work?"

  "I don't know, I'm sorry."

  "What about your mother?"

  "I can't perceive her. I beg your forgiveness."

  The colossal woman lowered her head, displeased. Almodea clung to her, offering support and receiving caresses on her head in return.

  With Nikusa here, everything would have been easier. She is a glass cannon, however. I have to understand what brought us into this world…

  Almodeus wasn't entirely wrong. Nikusa, Hirashi's mother and Queen of Chaos, was the only being considered his equal in all of reality. The previous fight between the two had ended in a draw, because if they had gotten serious, there would have been nothing left. After that fight, the two beings formed a sort of friendship treaty. In theory, it was supposed to be a mutual non-aggression pact, but in practice it became something more. Nikusa became engaged to one of Almodeus's subordinates, later adopted Hirashi and, in the process became a sort of aunt to Almodea. Nikusa even had become C's best friend, making her a part of the family. From his point of view, she was like a nagging mother-in-law.

  For a few years now, Nikusa had asked him and his host Hirashi while she was busy with some errands. Naturally, there was no attempt to refuse and the stoic woman began living with them, quickly becoming a sort of big sister to Almodea. The two often had sleepovers together, which always ended with Almodea crying over an anime. Hirashi, given her stoic nature, was a great support system - and her toned, well-built physique also made her a great pillow to fall asleep on. Almodea loved taking advantage of that.

  "Don't be afraid, Hirashi. We will find her!"

  "Thank you for your help."

  "How about you help me make dinner?"

  "Certainly, C.…It would be an honor to help you."

  C smiled and took Hirashi by the hand, leading her out of the arena. If she and Almodea had become adoptive sisters, C was a second mother to Hirashi. She always helped her open up a little more. The giantess's stoicism was the result of a nonexistent childhood, so having a supportive family had led her to change a lot in those years. When Nikusa found Hirashi, she was like a machine designed only to kill, nothing more. She trained all day and night, nothing else. But now, she was even capable of smiling and understand jokes. Some more complex emotions, such as anger, happiness and love, were still something she struggled to understand about herself, but she had quickly made great progress.

  "What are we doing now, Dad?"

  Almodea rightly asked, curious.

  "I'd say we go to the ground floor. Whoever I sent as a scout will have returned by now, I hope..."

  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  Arriving on the ground floor of the tower, father and daughter approached a group of seven robots, who were engaged in a conversation between eachother. Some of them were very human-like, so they could easily be mistaken for normal humans. Others, however, were more wild looking, with razor-sharp claws and fangs.
  "L-Lord Almodeus! Young Almodea! Welcome!"
  One of the robot stammered, bowing along with the others.
  "Stand up, I'm here for the report!"
  "Of course! We have some important news! Conrad?"
  "Yes!"
  One of the subordinates, dressed in a green raincoat, answered. His name was Conrad, and he was a kind of detective. He usually gathered information for Almodeus, piecing together the pieces when the others couldn't.
  "It appears we are on Earth, my lord..."
  A snap of the fingers brought forward another robot, tall and slender, wearing a screen as face. His name was Soundwave, and he was the communications chief. Images of trees and plains began to appear on the screen on his head.
  "These are our surroundings. Plains and trees as far as the eye can see!"
  "It feels like we're right on Earth..."
  "Unfortunately, yes. Communication lines have already been re-established, however."
  The speaker was Sergio, the most brilliant mind of the Fear Tower, on par with Almodeus and C. He usually wore an elegant brown suit complete with hat.
  "Shall I prepare a team to investigate the forest, Lord Almodeus?"
  Proposed Morello, a robot dressed in a white suit. He was the best general in the army, but was also hot-headed.
  "No, not for now..."
  "So what do we do, Master?"
  The question was posed by Cortex, another general of Almodeus' army.
  "I have a discussion to have with Shockwave now. You must remain on high alert. Morello.
  The demon's right eye moved towards the robot in white, who swallowed some non-existent saliva.
  "Y-Yes?"
  "Prepare countermeasures in case there are invaders, okay?"
  "C-Certainly!"
  Almodeus's gaze shifted to the last two robots, both colossal compared to their brethren. One was covered from head to toe in scars, while the other had four arms and steamed from pores on its body.
  Their names were Hardshell and Smaug, the strongest warriors of their kind. They weren't as strong as Almodea or Hirashi, but were still extremely powerful level 100 beings.
  "You two! Prepare for defense, but don't overdo it! Do I make myself clear?"
  "Absolutely, Absolute Almodeus!"
  The warning was more directed at Hardshell than at Smaug. The colossus wasn't exactly the smartest of the group, and his loyalty was often excessive.
  Hardshell is a good soldier, but he's no general. There'll be work to be done...
  After giving the directions, he said his goodbyes and began walking towards the tower elevator, closely followed by his daughter.
  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  The Fear Tower consisted of over seventy underground floors, some of which were bars for the troops, others were cocoon rooms where the A.L. Bots were born, and others were research laboratories. Almodeus was headed to the main one, followed by his daughter.

  "I wonder what technology is like in this world..."

  He muttered aloud, scratching the back of his bald neck.

  "It'll probably be fused with magic. Medieval fantasy style!"

  Almodea replied, with the air of a university professor.

  "What do you mean?"

  "I mean, we're probably in a medieval world! There will be Guilds to fight monsters, a leveling system similar to ours and so much more!"

  "And how exactly did you deduce all this?"

  "But it's the basis of every isekai anime, Dad!"

  "Ah...I understand."

  In reality, he hadn't understood anything. Almodeus knew what an anime was, but he had no idea his daughter was so knowledgeable about the genre she called isekai. At the start, his understanding of anime was slightly different from the reality. To him, they were extremely similar to X-rated films, due to some scenes his daughter shamelessly watched on the living room TV without caring if anyone could hear them. It took a while to make him understand what anime was in general and that the ones Almodea watched were just one of many genres.

  He should have expected it, though. His daughter had always been quite kinky, though not in a bad way. She had little sense of decency and wasn't shy about her comments.

  One thing to know about Almodea was her duality. On one hand, she could appear playful and friendly; but on the other, behind that happy girl's mask, lurked a sadistic monster with no empathy for anyone who stood in her way.

  The demoness was only eighteen, but she already had a number of kills under her belt—not like her father or Hirashi, but easily exceeding thousands. Almodea wasn't evil per se, but her young age and the power she wielded made her extremely unpredictable.

  -Despite everything, Almodeus was proud of her.

  "I'm so excited! I can't wait to explore this world! Do you think there are elves? And dragons! If I find one, can I keep it? Pleeeeeease! Pretty pleeeeease!"

  "Okay, okay! There's no need to make puppy dog eyes with me, you know?"

  He couldn't say no to her. Although it might not seem like it, Almodeus wasn't a strict father; on the contrary, he gave his daughter almost complete freedom of action and rarely forbade her from doing what she wanted. Was he spoiling her too much? Yes, absolutely. Could he have avoided it? No, absolutely not.

  "Hurray! I'm going to have a dragon!"

  For some reason, Almodea had always been obsessed with dragons. They were her favorite species. She knew almost everything about them and often modified her own body to look like a dragonkin, or a half-dragon, when in reality she was a demon. The mere mention of dragons made Almodea's attention span skyrocket. Of course, if anyone insulted the dragon race in her presence, they would meet a slow, painful death. Almodea was not to be angered; it was rule number two in Fear Tower. Number one was to never disrespect the letter A in Almodeus presence.

  "Here we are..."

  Exiting the elevator, the two walked briskly to the end of the corridor, where they found a large metal door awaiting them. With a quick touch, the door automatically lifted, allowing them access to what looked like a colossal futuristic laboratory.

  In the center of the room stood Shockwave, a robot with a bionic left eye and a cold gaze that rivaled Hirashi's—he was, after all, her adoptive father. How Nikusa had fallen in love with him remained a mystery to that very day.

  "Shockwave! I can already see you at work."

  "Yes, my lord..."

  The robot's lifeless tone didn't contradict his gaze. If Hirashi was cold, he was sub zero level. His profession was that of scientist and doctor, as well as the most intelligent mind in the Fear Tower. He was also the torturer, but he didn't call himself one. In his eyes, the people who had been sent to him were no longer people, but mere guinea pig. On the sides of the lab were several cages, presumably containing the scientist's various experiments.

  -Ethics, or morals, were not issues Shockwave was concerned with.

  "I suppose you know the reason for my visit."

  "It's logical to assume you believe it was one of my inventions that brought us here. Unfortunately, that's a false theory; it wasn't me."

  "Do you have any idea on what brought us here?"

  "Not at the moment..."

  "Do you know that your girlfriend is missing?"

  The robot stopped working and turned to face his master. His expression was unemotional and uncaring.

  "Nikusa is not in danger, she is the danger."

  "I can't argue with you on that one..."

  He really couldn't. Nikusa was probably the only being who had ever stood up to him. He was fear, she was chaos; they were quite similar, deep down, very much so. Both culminated in the end of all things.

  "Maybe you should talk to Hirashi about this, you know?"

  Almodea proposed, putting her hands on her hips.

  "There's time. Hirashi is a mature woman..."

  As cold as it might seem on the surface, Shockwave and Hirashi shared a strong bond. The same was true between mother and daughter: Hirashi respected Nikusa immensely, often putting her mother’s desires before her own.

  "Let him work, Almodea. I expect a full report. Are we in agreement, Shockwave?"

  "It will be done, master..."

  After another cold response, Almodeus decided to leave with his daughter, returning to the main office on the top floor of the Fear Tower.

  "Sooooo...What are we doing now, Dad?"

  He sat down in his chair, which also served as his throne.

  "How about we keep an eye on the surroundings with the spy crows?"

  "Oh, yes! I love it when you use them!"

  Almodeus clenched his right hand into a fist, channeling demonic energy into his palm. Moments later, he opened it again, and a reddish-feathered crow emerged. The bird of prey took flight and emerged from the hole in the center of the glass window.

  "Ready to see this world?"

  "Ready to go, Dad!"

  The demon nodded and pulled his daughter closer. If there was one thing he loved more than anything, it was his beloved daughter's smile.

  I will make her smile, no matter who or what we meet along the way. Allies, enemies, Kings, Gods...veryone in this world will learn to know the name of Almodeus, Demon of Fear!
