Chapter 17 (Sekara): I dont want praise

  Chapter 17: (Sekara)

It burned. It all… just… burned.

It had been a few hours since her inferno shower, but she hadn't even fully regenerated yet. The remains of her hair were slowly growing back.

Shogai. That stupid human. This was meant to be a fun hunt. Not a parade of being tortured by Nexeans. She was done. Fed up. The next time she sees Shogai will be the last time. She's going to make sure of that.

Sekara burst into the throne room. There were three Deviant Primes present. Horoguramu and Nika were still present, but a green-haired female Deviant occupied seat 4 rather than Jinaida in seat 8. Ranks 2,3, and 4. This was a dangerous room, but Sekara didn't care.

"Sekara, done with your mission? Good. Your next assignment is to wipe out-"

"No Horoguramu. I'm not done. I failed. Are you happy now?"

Sekara spoke with anger that took Horoguramu aback. She'd never spoken to him like that. Sekara continued.

"I need to kill him, but the Nexeans keep saving him. I'm requesting assistance. Any one of you should be enough to kill the stupid Nexeans. Are you going to help me or not?"

Horoguramu was silent for a moment, and Sekara was scared that she'd gone too far, but he laughed.

"You're growing, Sekara. Very well. Vera, accompany Sekara. Nika, take on Sekara's task. I need you to finish off a small village in the west in her place."

Both the girls groaned in defiance, but Horoguramu was having none of that. A giant figure appeared behind him, constructed of a translucent, dark, liquid-like energy. It looked like a hologram of himself, if he were 50 feet tall. Vera backed off immediately, kneeling. Nika was still relaxed, her feet on the table, and staring down Horoguramu. He won the staring contest.

  "...fine."

"That's settled then. Good luck, Sekara. If you keep this up, we might see your rank rise. Your maturity deserves praise."

"I don't want praise. I want that boy dead."
