Chapter 25 { The Heavenly Mirror }

  Chapter 25

  { The Heavenly Mirror }

A majestic light pierced the place.

The power of a Rare-rank weapon could match the average strength of Level Two.

  A full, overwhelming strike.

  !@@$$

A blue barrier surrounded the skeletal mage…

  BOOOOOOOOM

The force of the explosion pushed Ian backward.

  “My lord!!” the duo shouted.

“Continue,” Ian ordered as he stood up quickly, spitting blood from his mouth.

  !#@$@

  Another group of skeletons appeared.

They were also Level One… but stronger, although fewer in number.

  The duo fought back-to-back.

The White Tiger roared from behind and charged forward.

  “Return!” Ian shouted at him.

The White Tiger howled bitterly and unleashed his howl on everyone…

  Bloodline… 70%

  Tiger’s Howl 83%

The tiger’s strength increased greatly, and his training had now reached the eighth step of Level One…

  Practically Ian’s highest cultivator.

  { Cultivator / Trainee }

Even so, he was still far weaker than Chris, who possessed a Legendary skill and the General class… or Liu, who had the Multi-Class and the Copy skill… or Ian, who possessed both Legendary skills and a Legendary class.

The barrier around the skeletal mage shattered, but the spear attack had already dispersed. Even so, Ian leapt powerfully over the Level One skeletons and landed in front of the skeletal mage.

  Death Accumulation…

He launched his fist, surrounded by dark aura.

  !@$@$

  The barrier reappeared.

  BAM

  BAM

  BAM

Ian struck three times, but the barrier’s rebound force pushed him backward.

One of the skeletons caught him mid-fall and stabbed him with its sword.

The blade tore Ian’s side, blood dripping down.

  “My lord!!”

  Everyone shouted.

“Death Accumulation,” Ian answered them with a fierce punch to the skeleton’s head… shattering it.

  Ian…

  Level 0 (72%)

Ian grit his teeth, jumped onto another skeleton, and struck it.

  The fifth strike…

  The sixth…

  The seventh…

  The eighth.

Every hit was filled with greater force…

The Bone Breaker title showed its value here.

Ian’s training was rising as well, and soon he would reach Level One… and once he did, his strength would triple at the very least.

  BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM

  All the summoned skeletons shattered.

  !@@$

  The skeletal mage stood up…

The skull atop the staff glowed and transformed into a heavenly weapon that unleashed its flames upon the world.

  “Spread out!” Ian commanded.

The fire was overwhelming and brutal.

It erupted from the skull’s mouth, consuming the entire area.

Ian escaped narrowly, but the flames still scorched him with several burns.

The soldiers’ hearts ached… but Ian’s heart was entirely cold.

  Death Accumulation…

  The twenty-fifth strike.

Ian approached again—but the barrier around the skeletal mage activated.

  The barrier was powerful… repelling…

  Death Accumulation.

  Every strike… stronger… fiercer… greater…

The black aura now fully enveloped Ian’s fists.

The air around him was scorching hot—not from the flames sweeping through the surroundings, but from the raw power screaming to burst out of Ian’s fists.

  Twenty-sixth strike.

  Twenty-seventh.

  Twenty-eighth.

  Crack.

  Fractures appeared across the barrier.

  !@$@$

A Level Two skeleton appeared before Ian.

“Leave it to me!” Chris shouted as he stepped forward. “General’s Sword!”

“Give me the banner!” Ian roared…

  Twenty-ninth.

  Formation Banner…

  Thirtieth…

  BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

The strongest attack the group possessed ignited.

The barrier shattered, and the skeletal mage was launched backward, pinned into the rear wall.

The strike was terrifyingly brutal and overwhelmingly powerful.

Devastating, especially for a skeleton that relied entirely on its barrier.

He alone wasn’t strong without his staff and shield… and once the shield broke, he broke with it.

  Suddenly…

A powerful aura radiated from Ian.

  Ian

  Level One.

  Finally…

Ian felt his strength soar into the heavens.

A threefold increase in power wasn’t something small… truly, every drop in the scale of strength produced immense results in the end…

And now it was time for the loot.

The skeletal mage didn’t drop anything… even the staff had vanished.

Ian frowned… that staff was an incredible weapon. He knew it would have many limitations, but at least it would have helped him immensely.

Even so, he didn’t dwell on it.

**Congratulations on releasing the tormented souls and sending them to Hell.

Your reputation among the souls increases.**

  Reputation among souls…??

Why do I suddenly feel like I understand nothing…

Ian stared into emptiness for a moment in silence… feeling like a fool… being played with… everything blurry and unclear.

The “Above”… a legendary skill… reputation among souls… what in the name of the Hell Creator is happening to me?

After that, it was time to open the chest.

Strangely, the fire hadn’t touched the coins or the chest…

Another thing Ian didn’t understand. But what did he understand here anyway?

He opened the chest and was stunned to find two identical mirrors.

  Heavenly Mirror

  Special Item

Description: Link two or more mirrors to transfer information or non-living goods.

  Link Range: Entire region.

  Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

Ian’s eyes almost popped out… this item… it was incredible.

With this, he would no longer worry about transporting items back and forth… or dangers striking during his absence… or falling into an ambush… the entire region would basically become his territory, and he could oversee everything.

  This item… amazing.

Aside from that, there was a rare sword and axe, which made Ian breathe a sigh of relief about the spear he had lost.

I thought the spear would be enough… but that mage’s armor was strong… Ian thought as he examined the last two things in the large chest.

  Skill Rune.

  Rare

  Shield of Rebound.

It reflects 50% of the damage for tier two and below.

No wonder… Ian finally understood. The shield wasn’t strong, but it canceled half of the incoming attack.

  And finally… a notebook.

It was slightly torn… old… and stained with blood.

This notebook is for the one who kills me. This sentence was engraved on it.

Ian opened it for a moment and flipped through it.

There was only one written page. The rest were blank.

The problem was that the written page didn’t contain much information—just a few simple words written in the human language:

  Beware the Disaster?????????????????

Two words, followed by a series of question marks engraved in blood… and nothing else.

  The Disaster…

What disaster was it talking about?

Ian thought about it for a moment before ordering,

“Chris… take half the troops and return,” then gave him one of the mirrors.

Chris nodded. “As you command,” still staring at Ian’s wounds and burns—

—which Ian had already forgotten about because of all the surprises that happened today.

Boban suddenly approached, tore a cloth, and tied it around Ian’s side where the wound was…

But Ian didn’t react, still thinking about the matter of the Disaster.

Was it referring to the Falling Petals Event? Or a greater calamity?

I’ll return and ask Yora… her predictive abilities will help.
