VOL 2 | CHAPTER 65: | SHE WHO REMEMBERS THE PAST

CHAPTER 65: | SHE WHO REMEMBERS THE PAST

  ---

I was once called the Guardian of the River of Time in a faraway cycle, but that was no more.

I had already abandoned my duty for the sake of my love.

Others would call it a foolish decision to abandon my throne, which was seated at the very top of the dimension.

All of them feared even to hear my name.

  But it was worth it.

For they revered me, feared me, for I was the Mother of Time.

Some called me Chronos, the god of time, others said I was the guardian of time.

But none knew the loneliness that accompanied infinite time except for me.

For I was born at the dawn of the reality when the dimension was first created, where only we, the Ancient Ones, were created in the very first epoch.

One of them became the Mother of All, who claimed to be the supreme creator of all because she had the authority to create them.

Another called themselves the Supreme Heavenly Dao, for they were the keeper of balance in the dimension.

And I was the concept of time itself.

For I was an ageless being who could not age no matter how much time passed.

I existed but did not exist at the same time.

I was there, yet not there at the same time.

  Since I was time itself.

  I was everywhere.

For time could not be nullified by anything, as time itself is absolute.

None could escape the concept of time, not even them.

I had drifted in the vast multiverse for epochs, and it was only at the start of that very epoch that I felt alive for the very first time.

He was a fascinating being, along with his sister.

They were special, so special that only two of them existed.

He wanted to become an emperor, but the requirements were too dire.

Since only races with a population of a million were given the qualification to have one of them ascend to the ranks of an emperor, and that's where the problem started.

Both siblings could not procreate because they were infertile.

It wasn't just that his 'thing' wasn't functioning, it was that they couldn't procreate, even after trying every method known to all.

It was a sad tale, for all to hear as either of them died, the other would be left alone in loneliness.

So, he began his journey and his plan to become an emperor.

He named himself [ALISTER VON FAI].

He then began his very first plan, a scheme to devour an entire planet in less than a day.

He did it in an hour.

Then, time passed as he devoured a solar system, a galaxy, and a universe.

It was only until then that the chase began and where we met and fell in love.

Alister was chased by the Disaster Incarnate of #######, where he nearly died and where I appeared and saved him.

We fought together like a sweet couple, then escaped together in a romantic way as we held hands and hugged each other.

At that time, I thought we were falling in love, but to my dismay, I was the only one in love.

He was only acting like he loved me, playing along so that he could use me for his grand plan.

It was disheartening to see the man that I loved was a scum.

After our arguments, he fucked another woman, and then another, until he fucked Samantha and then that god damned bitch, the highest god.

That damned bastard was on a spree, fucking everything in sight, but I knew he was planning something while fucking.

  Haa, forget about that.

  Let's continue.

After that, the Mother of All and the Supreme Heavenly Dao teamed up with us, good sisters, to kill him.

Of course, he had already predicted this and asked us to play along since he knew we couldn't refuse the Supreme Heavenly Dao's offer.

The offer was that they would let him reincarnate again and again to repent for his sins, along with us sisters to accompany him and maybe try to win his heart.

We already knew the chilling truth, that he and his sister didn't have any emotions.

That's why the powerhouses in the dimension say that I've died after going crazy for a man.

That the very she sacrificed herself so the Supreme Heavenly Dao would spare her love, but none knew that she did all of it intentionally.

She wanted to be together with the man that she loved, even when she was reduced to nothing but a mere mortal that would die in the blink of an eye.

So why did she futilely die for an unrequited love, even when she herself knew it?

Well, the answer was simple, she herself couldn't truly die since she was time itself.

Even when her authority and power were stripped away from the visage of reincarnations that she had undergone, she herself didn't forget anything at all.

Elara spent time with her husband in the hundredth cycle of their lives as husband and wife, and she couldn't be happier.

Her husband paid attention to her for the first time, loved her, and took care of her, even though she knew that it was an act and that it was a lie.

It was the first time in her life that her husband, who had no emotion, gazed at her with a hint of love.

She knew that her husband was cultivating his emotions so that he would love her, and she couldn't be happier about it.

Elara flipped through the next page of a massive tome filled with an unknown script of magic, reminiscing about the time she and her husband spent together in their never-ending reincarnations.

But all of it was cut short as a soft voice, filled with a motherly love, echoed behind her.

A beautiful woman with striking golden eyes could be seen seated on a couch.

"Child, you've been too preoccupied in your own world lately. If it's not too rude to ask, may I know what mystery you have been pondering about?"

Elara was reborn as a princess in this lifetime, in an awakened world that was in the early stages of the fourth calamity.

She gazed at her mother with hawk-like eyes as she muttered in a cute voice.

"Silence! This young princess is pondering about her future husband."

But her royal mother only smiled elegantly as she gently lifted Elara from the ground and placed her on her lap, giggling.

"What does my princess know about husbands at such a young age? Don't you know how annoying your father is every night?"

Elara gazed at her mother, whining cutely as she shook her head, then placed the book right beside her as she spoke.

"Please, Mother, let this child of yours rest for even a moment. Don't you know that you've been ranting about it for quite a while now? Aren't you embarrassed to mention it in front of your child in every passing second?"

Elara ranted and scolded her mother, too irritated to hear her mother ranting about how good her husband was in bed and how gentle he was.

Elara was about to explode from hearing all of this every day, but her royal mother hugged her gently as she smiled.

"Don't be angry, my dear princess. Don't you know that it saddens us to see our young child acting so mature at that age?"

Elara was clearly flustered from hearing her words but shook her head as she hopped to the ground, then grabbed the tome as she muttered.

"At least you know that this princess of yours knows maturity, or else wouldn't I, the sole inheritor of the throne, end up like you, Mother?"

But her royal mother only smiled as she shouted with happiness.

"Kyaaaaa! My cute princess, are you worried about this foolish mother of yours? Kyaaaaa! Let me pinch your face, my lovely baby!"

Her royal mother pounced at her and cuddled her, in a state of happiness as she was overloading with Elara's cuteness, since it was too much for her to bear the cuteness of her child.

Elara and her mother rolled on the floor as her royal mother was in a state of joy.

Elara pouted cutely as her royal mother's cuddling intensified.

She shouted in a cute manner.

"Have some decency, Mother, and please act like a proper queen!"

Then the queen continued to pamper Elara, day after day.

Elara herself found the queen pretty annoying at first, but later acknowledged that she was a good mother since she herself would love to dote on her child like this one day.

  ---

Time seemed to pass in an instant.

As a massive door opened then a beautiful woman with a striking brown hair and pure golden eyes elegantly walked on a velvet carpet.

The spectators gathered around the stadium smiled with joy, for their princess was now ascending as the ruler of the kingdom.

Elara stopped then knelt on the ground with grace and gazed at her father with warmth.

The King of this very kingdom, the ruler and her father, raised his hand as he shouted with authority.

"Congratulations my child, but now lets begin."

An authoritive voice echoed as the king proclaimed.

"Elara Sae Acoustine, do you swear on your life that you will protect and reclaim the glory of our kingdom, which the founder, Ashin Sae Acoustine, founded?"

  Elara gazed at her father.

Today was her glorious coronation to the throne, the very day that she would become the queen of the kingdom.

Her lips curved into a smile as her voice softly echoed.

"I, Elara Sae Acoustine, the inheritor of the crown, swear that I will protect the very legacy of our founder and let it flourish to heights that none of my predecessors imagined!"

The King wore a proud expression and nodded at his dignified daughter.

He then closed his eyes and put the crown on her daughter’s head as he proclaimed.

"Then let us congratulate the emergence of the nineteenth ruler of this kingdom and the usher of a new era of the Acoustine Kingdom!"

The nobles gathered around cheered as the whole kingdom celebrated the ascension of their new queen for an entire month.

All of them rejoiced that the benevolent Princess Elara Sae Acoustine, the most beautiful woman in history, had ascended to be the queen of their kingdom.

A new age was ushering under the command of Elara Sae Acoustine as the kingdom developed rapidly with her leadership.

The corrupt nobles were purged in less than a week upon her ascension without anyone knowing.

All of them were happy for their benevolent queen who listened to all, who brought justice to all, who loved all of her citizens, as Elara herself was that very being.

The small kingdom, which had a territory as massive as ten thousand miles in the size of our world.

Was a small section of the world that elara wasborn into.

But with elara leadership, it developed rapidly as the acoustine kingdom, was in a golden age.

Elara had consumed hundreds of thousands of small territories, of mountain ranges and lands, during her campaign as a 19-year-old queen in her early days and expanded it into a million miles in a matter of one hundred years.

Then she expanded it yet again into a staggering 10 million miles in a matter of 200 years.

Now, at the age of 375, she was one of the three emperors in the realm of Atlantis.

  But it wasn't enough.

She needed to unify Atlantis if she wanted to regain the former glory of her empire, the Acoustine Empire, which was once Atlantis under the leadership of Ashin Sae Acoustine, a legend among all.

She was the greatest historical figure that this world could possess.

  ---

Time passed in a blink of an eye.

Elara had waited for her husband to descend into this world for over 375 years.

She was ready for them to start their new cycle, with her as queen and him as her only consort.

She knew that they would meet as fate intended, so she waited and built an empire for them to enjoy.

  "Your Holiness, there's trouble!"

A panicked voice echoed across the hallways.

Elara wasn't just a benevolent queen in this life but a god, if you may say, as she had already established her own temple in this world so that she could gain divinity from her followers.

She was now confirmed as 'Your Holiness' or as the 'Goddess of the Timeless Soul' as she had already recovered some of her authorities from her past, along with a new addition of obtaining a powerful soul-related bloodline in this life that she didn't know existed until she acquired it.

Her gaze was focused on the documents on the table as she read, then signed or rejected them.

She placed the quill on the etui, then removed her glasses as she muttered gently.

  "Go on."

The woman, having regained her composure, bowed and brought out a bloodied letter as she muttered with pain visible on her face.

"Your Holiness... my sister... she... she has been captured by them."

Her anger could be seen as she clenched her hands until they bled, but she was soon calmed as Elara's voice echoed.

"Fear not, my dear Saintess, for I will definitely find your sister, or avenge her if those atheists have done any harm to her."

Neriadna gazed at her god, her queen, for she was the Saintess of Elara's Order that she had founded 165 years ago.

Neriadna knew of Elara's detached personality better than anyone else, for they had grown up together from their childhood to now.

  She smiled.

"Thank you for your kind words, Your Holiness!"

Her voice echoed as Elara smiled gently as she conversed with Neriadna for a while to entirely calm her down before giving her a task at the great Kelp Forest to soothe her rage.

Watching Neriadna leave the room, Elara smiled gently as she muttered in a voice as cold as Antarctica.

"My foolish Saintess, knowing the truth of the world and of me would pain you so much, so don't blame me for having an exchange with them, for their knowledge is too valuable for me to ignore in my endeavor to protect him. So forgive this foolish god of yours..."
