Battle at the food court

  Chapter 11

Titan got to the location of the new dungeon. It was in the food market. He stood before the green entrance inside.

Government officers and guilds were blocking off entrance from the public.

An official approached him with a great sword behind his back.

“You better be off with you. This place is cut off from the entrance.”

Titan held up his ID. “I was told to come down here to help with clearing away the boss inside. I’m Titan Young.” He said.

The man frowned at him. “Who told you to come down here?”

“Ah. A government agent named Glenda. She works at the-” He started to say but he stopped when the officer waved him inside.

“Go on in.The Chief Field Agent in charge is named Maxwell Hobbs. It’s a simple enough job kid. You’re to help with containment until the Dungeon Crawlers come to handle beating the boss inside. They shouldn’t be long.”

Titan gave the man a half salute with a surprised look expression on the man’s face. He hurried inside the opened gates.

The moment he walked inside there was a strange quiet inside food market.

Titan took out his weapon. The Axion Edge blade became dark and nearly invisible in the twilight evening.

Titan sent out his focus expanding it out seeking out for danger and then felt again an echo of another mind.

He froze in place looking forward and seeking out but no danger system warning was conveyed back to him.

Titan proceeded onward toward the place he felt the echo. It was by instinct.

He came to a open square eating area of the food market outdoor space.

A team of six brown uniformed government agents were waiting for him.

Four females and two males. Titan’s gaze locked on the tallest one of the group.

Her grey eyes studied him with caution. Titan approached her with caution and saluted her.

The woman had gray blue hair wrapped up in a prim bon. There was an intense violet glow around her eyes.

“I’m Titan Young. Agent Glenda sent me here to help out anyway I can.” He said.

  “Your Psi class.” She said.

Titan nodded, seeing no need to lie sense she already knew that. “I’m only here to help.”

The woman studied Titan for a few moments and then her mouth formed an “O”

“Agent Glenda recruited and trained you.” She said.

Titan nodded. “Yeah.” He said and then his attention drifted as he felt something watching them now.

“Don’t focus on it. You’re not strong enough to take it on. We still haven't gotten a HP number on it's base power. Focus on me. What kind Psi abilities do you have?”

Titan turned to her and set his focus on her intently.

Titan smiled. “Psi Shadow. I like that name. Does that mean you're like an assassin?”

Erica studied Titan with a steady gaze. She balled up her hands to hide her sudden shaking.

“No. I’m a defensive and combat analyst. I''m not like you." She said in carefully measured tone of voice.

Titan nodded his head. He noticed the effect he was having on her though he didn't want to bring attention to it.

“So. Your in charge. What do you need me to do?” He said.

“Who said I was in charge?” Erica said attempting to lie to him. "You should have been told who is in charge at the gate."

Titan did a quick mental scan of the other agents and he nodded to his head. "Maxwell Hobbs was the name given to me at the gate. He isn't in your group so I suppose that he's either dead or not here. Your the strongest and based on your skill set that makes you the leader here."

Erica stared at him silently. "Yes. Agent Hobbs was killed by a sneak attack and his body taken away. You're saying I am the strongest here?"

Titan frowned at question but he nodded. “You're the strongest one here and your a Critical Analyst. You've kept the team alive so far in your shadow shield and presense. I just noticed the same trait about out other legendary classes in leadership positions.” Titan said casual tone.

Erica continued to stare at him. “You really see me?”

Titan nodded but he found it hard to keep his focus on her.

“Yeah. I’m just a Psi just like you are. Except you have way more experience and power than me.” He said in a half distracted voice.

“Okay. Agent Young. How many enemies do you feel?” Erica asked.

Titan closed his eyes. His focus expanded out. He heard Erica gasp as she felt his power expand out.

  [Enemies Critical Analysis]

  Dungeon Boss: Phantom Sovereign Beast

  Health points: 1050/1050

“Holy shit. When are the dungeon crawlers getting here?” Titan said instantly knowing there was no way he was strong enough to handle that kind of Boss.

“What’s wrong? How strong is it?” Erica asked him.

“Phantom Soverign Beast. HP. One thousandth and fifty.” Tian said, shaking his head.

  Erica's eye brows rose up.

“Shit.” A man said beside Titan. "What the fuck is that kind of beast doing in this back water zone?" He said.

Back water zone! Titan frowned in thought.

“Calm yourself. Agent Greg. They should be here in fifty to sixty minutes. Phantom Sovereign Beast. Sovereign Beasts generate armies. Agent Titan. Who else is with it?” Erica asked.

Titan listened and expanded out his focus again as he listened for smaller enemies.

  [Enemies Critical Analysis]

  Dungeon monsters:

  30 Silver Soldiers.

  Health points: 20/20 each

“Silver soldiers. HP is twenty.” Titan said before he opened his eyelids. He looked directly at Erica.

Erica looked uneasy at his direct gaze.

“Agent Waters. What do you need me to do?” Titan said.

Erica seemed to relax at his question for some reason. She even smiled at him.

“Agent Young. Handle the Silver Soldiers. My team will handle containing the dungeon boss from moving forward. When the legendary dungeon Crawlers arrive, exit the dungeon.” She said.

  “Understood.” Titan said.

“Do not approach the boss.” Erica said.

  “Affirmative.” Titan said.

Erica quickly silently led her team away.

Titan was already focused on the Silver Soldiers. He moved jumping into the blink step.

Titan backstabbed thin air and then he hit an invisible body. The enemy screamed as it appeared.

Titan quickly kicked the monster a side removing his weapon from its body.

He turned dodging a thin silver sword as it almost took his head off.

Titan ran through the shopping food area tripping over a chair and rolling. An enemy attempted to stab at his head.

Titan dodged and sliced down silver soldier monsters as they rushed at him.

Titan was into his sixth slaying of a silver man when his back was sliced.

He blinked and removed the head of the silver soldier a second later.

Titan fell and one of his enemies kicked his weapon out of his hand.

Titan lay on the ground breathing heavily. He felt his energy going down but his focus was locked in.

He waited until they attempted to stab him and blinked. He dove on the ground toward his weapon by grabbing it up.

Titan felt his focus low as his vision was blurry. He shook it off using his weapon to get up and try to limp away.

Fire erupted around them passing through Titan’s body like air. A wizard in red leather armor rushed at him.

He silently bent down putting Titan over his shoulder and ran away toward the Food market entrance gate.

Titan watched as a large number of dungeon Crawlers came rushing into the gate racing to quickly take out the monsters.

The fire wizard got Titan outside rushing him to a medical station set up. He was laid down on a bed.

Glenda smiled down at him as she ripped off his shirt. She slapped her hand on his chest.

“SHIT!” Titan roared as he felt healing energy roaring in his body.

“Thank you for your help today, Mr. Young. Please rest your head and drink this.” She said.

Titan started to ask something but someone held his head up. Glenda put a bottle to his lips making him drink the red potion down.

Titan’s eyes went wide as he tasted fire going down his throat.

He tried to knock the bottle away but Glenda forced him to drink it all down.

“Alright. That should do you some good. Now it’s time for you to rest a bit.” She said and rubbed his head.

Titan’s eyes rolled into the back of his head as he was knocked into darkness.

  ….

Titan woke up slowly once again in the bar of the Gypsy. He felt people watching him.

Titan looked over at Charlie. His uncle was was staring at Titan intently with a odd watchful stare.

“What’s going on Uncle Charlie?” Titan said in casual tone like he had just woken up from a nice nap.

Charlie snorted. “Nothing much nephew. I heard you got into a bit of trouble in a dungeon.”

Titan nodded. “Yeah. Something like that. I got my ass handed to me by a bunch of HP 20 monster swordmen.” He said and sighed.

“I heard you killed about twenty of them before they almost took you.” Charlie said.

Titan shook his head. “Give it to me. What did I do wrong?”

Charlie's face formed a cheeky grin.

“Why didn’t you run before you were about to get jammed up?” Charlie asked.

“I lost focus on survival. I also couldn’t get away fast enough. Damn. I was not expecting the crawlers to take so damn long to come rescue me.” Titan said.

Charlie snorted and he took a drink. “Yeah. It was a busy day yesterday. Oh. Yeah. You been asleep a bit.”

“What did you tell my mother and sister?” Titan asked.

“I told them the truth. They came down here. I told them you had to rest here a bit.” He said.

Titan looked up at the ceiling. “How did I get here?”

“Glenda called me up and the guild came and picked you up.” He said.

  “Are you mad?”

“Titan. You are a government dungeon crawler. Glenda is your trainer and superior officer. She gave you an order. You had to obey.” Charlie said.

Titan smiled. “I hear an underlining but in your tone.”

Charlie chuckled. “Yeah. Hank is right. You need a secondary Single action weapon or some bombs in your bag.”

Titan sighed. “My tactics went to shit. I was trying to follow orders as best as I could but then I was acting on instinct.”

Charlie nodded his head down his drink. “I know. I know. It can only get you so far. You're a Psi Class. Your combat style is tactical and analytical.”

Titan narrowed his eyes on the ceiling. “I need to get a magical high caliber marksman firearm. Do you know where I can get one?" He said.

“I can help you with that Young Blood.” Hank said.
