Chapter 28
Titan was waking up from a brief nap in his room and rolled out of bed. He scatched his back as the door opened.
Caroline stared at him with a smile then she glanced at the bed. "I thought your friend wasn't stayinig over."
Glenda sitting up on the bed in a locus position. Her body was a glow in magical gold energy.
"We got a job. She wanted to stay over a bit and help me rest." He said.
Caroline stared at him. "What type oof job is it?" She asked.
Titan shrugged. "A big job that I'm going to use to earn my government paycheck and get some items." He said.
Caroline stared at him. "So your not going to tell me." She said.
Titan nodded. "Yeah. It's going to be a big job. Did you pack my magic bag with the resources i need." He said.
Caroline nodded and handed him back his back. "I did. I alos gave you a few potions. Just promise me you'll do your best to be safe or at least come back at all cost." She said.
"i promise. Glenda you ready to roll?" Titan asked and then removed his armor from his back bag and put it on.
Titan's body glowed and armor appeared on his body. Glenda came out of her trance and walked around the bed toward him.
Titan smiled at Caroline. "I' love you." He said and took Glenda's hand and disapeared.
Titan and Glenda appeared in appeared terminal out of golden flames. A group of dark blue uniformed agents jumped at the sight of them.
Titan was dressed in his dark armor and he nodded to one of the agents. Erica Windy nodded to him. Though he couldn’t see her system menu now. He notice a bright violet glow around her body. Her eyes had a faint glow now.
“Agent Windy. Nice to you again. You’ve leveled up to sixty. Nice.” He said.
Erica froze and she stared at him. “You can’t see my system menu. Did Commander Kendrick tell you.” She said in a sure voice.
Titan nodded his head. He studied her. “No I can’t but I know you’ve leveled up all your skills to the max levels. That’s good. I’ll leave all the fighting to you and the others.” He said with a wink and grin.
Erica’s face flushed in embarrassment but she nodded, turning away as Commander Kendrick appeared walking toward them.
Glenda moved closer to Titan as Ned Rogers stepped forward facing him.
Ned stared at Titan. “I’m going to be leading the team. Your job will be to help out with enemy detection and critical analysis. You will not engage in combat with the kind of monsters in the dungeon.” He said.
A mystical window appeared before his eyes. He saw Darious eating popcorn at an empty cinema theater. The screen was playing a cartoon movie but Darious completely ignored it.
Titan knew why. Darius as laughing his ass off at Ned as he spied on their conversation.
Ned touched Titan’s shoulder gentle. “Mr. Young. Did you hear my words.”
Titan blinked and he nodded. “Oh I’m fine. I’ll trust you and follow your orders.” He said.
Ned stared at him frowning.
Titan smiled and chuckled.
“I didn’t get into this job to be reckless or stupid with my life. You're the leader. I’m the rogue hired on to help out where you need me to. Thanks for saving my ass back with the dragon.” He said.
Ned blinked in surprise but then he smiled and patted his shoulder. “You’re just at the beginning of your journey. You’re more important to our future. The only reason coming with us now is because we need you.”

Titan nodded. “I got you OG. I follow orders pretty well. I’m not the fighter type you know.” He said.
Ned shook his head. “I meant no disrespect. You’re still under level sixty. I know when you reach your peak. You won’t need a team to protect. You’ll be commanding teams.” He said.
Titan shook his head. “I’m just a simple man. No disrespect taken.”
Ned stared at him. “I heard reports that you flew over the city.” He said.
Titan snorted. “No. I had, little shit try to kill me by dropping me above the city. I got lucky. I had this-” He paused and held out his hand summoning his Axiom Edge.
Ned stared at the weapon. “I remember your former weapon. You have evolved it into something else. Amazing. My focus hasn’t let me down once. Shit.”
Titan studied Ned closely. “What’s wrong OG? I said I won’t act recklash. I’m just here to help and I have no reason to push my luck any more harder than I already have.”
Ned bowed his head to Titan and stared at him. “It wasn’t luck that saved you from the dragon or falling from a great height. You’re a true Psi just like my master.”
Titan started to open his mouth. He froze and turned around to face Darious Wild.
Darious dressed in a black dress shirt and black slacks and dress shoes. He was snacking on a large bag of movie popcorn. He nodded to me.
His mirrored sunglasses showed my annoyed reflection. “What’s up Young Blood. You looked pissed off.”
Titan shook his head. “I thought you were watching a movie. What the hell are you doing here?” He said.
Darious froze in chewing popcorn slowly in his mouth and raised an eyebrow. “That’s crazy bro. Here I am taking a break from being a lazy asshole just to visit.”
The others all stared between them as Darious and Titan faced each other. Darious frowned at him while eating popcorn.
“Why the fuck are you going along with this shit? I thought you were in this gig for money. What your a soldier now?” Darious said while he ate popcorn.
Titan sighed shaking his head. “It’s a big dungeon raid. That means a lot of gold. A lot of legendary items. Fuck I don’t even have to fight the dungeon bosses. Easy money.”
“There’s also going to be a lot of fucking dumbass Psi looking to cut our head fucking off.” Darious said waving a finger at him. “You’re not even level twenty yet. Are you in a rush to take my throne?” He said.
The other gasped and several of the dungeon crawlers backed up. Glenda stood quietly near Titan though.
Titan stared at him. “You are so full of shit bro. I already told you I don’t give a fuck about that shit. I’m a government agent. Mr. Kendrick over here told me to come on the assignment. Besides, I want to get some extra money and items to hire a dungeon scout.”
Darious shook his finger at Titan. “Your arrogant little shit. You've been dungeon crawling for less than a month. You’re going on a Ragnarok dungeon raid. I think you should forget this bullshit.”
Ned got in between them. Titan saw Ned sweating and fight to meet Darious’ bored gaze.
“Mr. Wild. I promise you that no harm will come to Mr. Young. I promise it. He’s just coming to assist us.” Ned said.
Darious looked toward Commander Kendrick. “Peter, don't you think this is a bit too much?” He said.
Kendrick stared back. “We agreed that Agent Young wouldn’t be in open combat with a dungeon boss.” He said.
Darious glared at him. “I can handle the raid.”
“What the fuck is going on?” Titan asked.
Darious looked at him with glowing eyes. Titan saw a serious images of the past meetings between Darious and Kendrick in meeting rooms.
“I said I could handle it fucker.” Darious said.
Kendrick’s cold expression and glowing red eyes remained steady. “Can be helped. You and the Agent Young have to many targets on your back. We need him along. I have orders.”
Images of men and women all Psi that in the ranks to climb up to the top. Video images of men slaying Psi for the chance at the ultimate power race for the prize.
Ascendance.
It was an addiction to them. A hunger to gain more than a title or position but the power of a true immortal or god.
Titan saw his own image and list of hunters coming for him when he reached the Ragnarok. They wanted to kill him for the power locked into his mind and body.
Titan blinked and realized everything. He just didn’t give a fuck. He had no intention on losing to those fucking psychos.
Titan had a mission. The divine pursuit for happiness. He was going to get the money.
“I don’t give a fuck.” Titan said after a few seconds of silence.
“What?” Darious said.
Titan nodded. “I don’t give a fuck about all that. In fact. Fuck em. Fuck every last one of those asshohles that want to get in my fucking way. I’m getting the money.” He said.
Darous stared at him. “I can loan you the money.” He said.
“No. You need to relax bro. I told you. I’m not a fighter. I’m a rogue. I’m going to do my part but I’m leaving the fighting dungeon bosses to you and the others. So are you done bitching and ready to go.” Titan said.
Darious snapped his bag of popcorn away. He pointed behind Titan. “The plane has pulled up. We need to talk
but unfortunately you need to rest or you’ll die of exhaustion." He said.
Titan frowned. “What? I feel fine.” He said.
Darious smiled, shaking his head. “Sleep!”
Titan closed his eyes as he fell slowly to the floor.
