LI: VINDICARE

WITH A SINGLE THOUGHT, Magnus had used his telekinesis to blow the Voltairan Knight Elliat into several bloody… MEATY pieces.

Eyes widened and jaw dropped, Justan looked over himself to see that he was CAKED from head to toe in Elliat’s blood and flesh.

Kaze was as well, partially, but he remained unfazed by the ‘sudden violent act’.

At first, Kaze was caught off guard by it, but after witnessing the true hidden horror within the Maximum-Security Sector, he did not care what happened from that point on.

“Ell-Ellait? ELLIAT?!?!” Justan cried out in a distressed voice as Magnus remained facing the door to the holding cell.

Turning to the Breaker of Worlds now, Justan shouted, “WHAT…”

  SPLATTER!

“Thracking skogger,” Kaze spurted after Magnus had blown Justan apart with his mind as well.

With both Elliat and Justan now gone, Magnus and Kaze were left all alone in the Maximum-Security Sector… For now.

“Grand job, World-Breaker,” Kaze said to Magnus as he patted down his ‘bloodied’ armor. “So, what do you think lies within that holding ce--”

  BLAST!

Using his telekinesis again, Magnus blew the heavily fortified door to the holding cell right off its hinges, revealing its insides.

“Ugh… Thrack,” Kaze said after holding up his arms to protect himself from Magnus’s sudden destruction of the holding cell’s door. “Give a warning the next time you do something like that… Eh, World-Break…”

“LERO,” Magnus gasped through his battle helmet’s voice modulator after using his enhanced vision to lock on and scan the prisoner that resided within the holding cell, which turned out to be his supposedly dead former Keeper, Guardian… AND FRIEND.

“Who?” Kaze huffed in confusion as Magnus immediately started walking into the dark and decrepit holding cell.

“LERO!!!” the World-Breaker cried out as he clamored over to his currently restrained former Keeper.

With his head hanging downward, the bruised and battered former Rannukan Mercenary grunted, “Ugh… Wuh-What? Urgh… What do you thracking want? Ugh…”

Deactivating his armor, Magnus stepped out of the now ‘unlocked’ suit to reveal his true identity to Lero.

“Muh-Magnus?” Lero stammered in confused-shock as the World-Breaker stood before him with an equally confused expression on his own grizzled face. “ Is… Is it really you?”

“AYE, LERO… TIS,” Magnus nodded. “How do you still live? I thought that the Knights…”

“They took me away. The night-cycle when you left Voltaira, the Knights knocked me unconscious and brought me before Voltair. The cursed thrackin’ kroone then had me placed down here in this infernal place and has kept me here ever since.”

  “Truthfully?”

“Truthfully. In fact, today-cycle was supposed to be the day-cycle of my ‘execution’, but now that you are here I have strong reason to believe that it shall not come to pass… Hopefully.”

“Do not fret, my old friend… I shall free you from your imprisonment,” the World-Breaker said before looking back at Kaze who stood behind him. “I shall free EVERYONE.”

Kaze nodded to Magnus as Lero looked over his ‘frail frame’ and asked, “Mags… What in the thrack happened to you? You look like you’ve been to the Outer-World and back. Ugh… Where’ve you been all this time?”

“Far away… Learning the truth… THE TERRIBLE TRUTH,” Magnus shuddered, causing Lero’s eyes to widen.

  “Magnus, I am so sorr--”

“NO. Speak nothing of it, Lero. Not now. We shall discuss everything at a later time… AFTER I have freed you and everyone else from this cursed rotting hole. Now, for your restraints…”

Latching telekinetic holds on all four of Lero’s restraints, Magnus lowered his brow and began pulling them apart.

Feeling his restraints starting to give way, Lero’s eyes widened again as he shouted, “MAGNUS, WAIT!!!”

  SNAP! SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!

  HAAAAAAAAAWHOOOOO!!!!!

  HAAAAAAWWWWHOOOOOO!!!!!!

  “ALERT! ALERT! PRISONER BREECH!

  ALERT! ALERT! PRISONER BREECH!”

“Oh raxx,” Kaze cursed whilst looking upward at the red alert lights that now flashed on and off inside of Lero’s Holding Cell.

Looking up as well was Magnus, who had an expression of confusion on his gaunt face after catching Lero in his arms.

“Urgh… Raxx! You’ve activated the alarm system!” Lero informed the World-Breaker.

Setting his sights on his former Keeper, Magnus now had a concerned look on his face as Kaze ran over to the blasted open entrance to the holding cell.

Peering down the long corridor, Kaze saw droves of golden armored… PULSAR AUTO-RIFLE TOTING Voltairan Knights hustling down towards their position to respond to the alarm that was still sounding off.

“OH THRACK!” Kaze shouted as he pulled himself back inside of the holding cell. “We’ve got a whole thracking army heading right towards us! We cannot take them all on! Not the three of us! What are we going to do?!”

Looking at Kaze now, and then outside of the holding cell, Magnus narrowed his eyes whilst he came up with an idea of his own.

“Kaze… Take Lero,” Magnus said to the young Jorrakan.

  “Huh?” Kaze huffed in confusion.

“TAKE LERO… And guard him with your life-cycle.”

“Huh? Oh, uh, yeah… Yeah, sure. What are you going to do, World-Breaker?”

“WHAT I WAS BORN TO DO,” Magnus gritted as he stomped past both Kaze and Lero with his fists clenched.

“Huh? What???” Kaze huffed before turning to Lero. “Where in the thrack does he think he’s going? He’s going to get himself killed!”

“No,” Lero denied. “If Mags wanted himself killed… THEN HE’D ALREADY BE DEAD.”

  “What’s he gonna do then???”

  “CLAIM HIS VENGEANCE…”
