Chapter 139

“So what was slime life like?”

She shrugs, then looks at me.

“The slimes had no sensory organs, it just kinda consumed what it came into contact with. Sometimes I felt like I was more and sometimes diminished. Our skin seems rather reddish.”

I look at my hand, ya reddish.

“Our blood is at the surface of our skin.”

Mags stops and turns around. She stares at us with her green quarter moon eyes again.

“Your blood is uniformly dispersed through your body and unmoving. I'm not sure you can blush anymore.”

“Without capillaries, were we able to before?”

She smiles, “You were certainly capable of growing pale.”

Violet skins went death white, I looked at her shocked.

“What? It's slime blood, I made my blood translucent.”

“Ya, well now you look like you died.”

She looks at her skin annoyed, then smiles. She becomes a hue of ultra violet. I shake my head at her. She quirks an eyebrow.

“You will still be bone white to everyone but us. Perhaps just for your true body.”

She pouts but her skin becomes purple instead. Her hair becomes jet black aside from one strand. She hugs me and I feel my blood change as well as my hair. What was just a faint redness to my skin is now the dark blood red of my flower. My hair was back to being black.

  “Positivly demonic sister.”

She laughs. Mags just shakes her head.

  -----

“Oh my Red, you're actually red now.”

“My sister changed my skin tone. She thought it was rather amusing.”

She quirked her head, “Is the gills why you don't look like you are breathing?”

I give her a sad smile and direct my thoughts to her.

I breathe through my skin now. My lungs have atrophied to the point that they are only used for speaking. The gills are just an excuse for my sister and I to not be breathing normally.

Are you going to be alright?

  “Just fine, mistress.”

We start to head outside for her morning exercises. I stagger, my chest burning.

You have gained [Void Mana Core] Intermediate 1

You have gained [Soul Core] Apprentice 6

What happened to ‘your core has been subsumed by your Soul Core’ system? Didn't forget did ya? I am being jostled by Delores.

  “Sorry just stuck in thought.”

“It's cute how the skin just grew darker on your cheeks.”

Guess I can still blush. I flatten out the condensed blood.

  -----

“You wish to travel north to procure a cloud berry bush?” The lord looks at me curiously.

I am standing behind Kalidia. The dinner had finished, the plates cleared away.

“If it is at all possible, my Lord.” I give a slight bow.

“Kalidia are you alright with your [Attendant] being absent for a few days?”

“To be honest, I prefer to travel with her. It sounds like fun.” Seems like the travel party just grew by two more.

“I certainly can not constrain you, if that is your wish.” As expected from the Lord.

“O, I want to go too.” Delores speaks up. Also expected.

“I can and will constrain you on this, Delores.” She pouts, “What of you, Jeremy?”

“I will stay here and keep Delores company.”

That is surprising, I would assume he'd jumped at the adventure. Guess not two more.

  -It's because I'm still here.

  She grouses at that.

Sorry sister, I go off to hunt more souls for us.

  -----

“I can't help feeling like you are skipping town right before we have to apologize to Isabella.”

I grouse at Violet. She walks up and wills my clothes away.

  “Ru—”

My body forms into my manifestation. It's been awhile. My voice is gone…my lungs…

Our true self doesn't have lungs anymore does it.

She assumes the form, her skin ultra violet.

  -It does not.

I look up, truly Voiceless. My soul quakes at that. The very dungeon shakes. I move to the plains before our mothers track us down. It's not long before Violet joins me. I can't get myself to force air through my throat. I silently sigh.

Sorry about taking away our voice.

-The dungeon stopped making sounds for us as well. We still have illusion magic.

Any reason why you changed me into my manifestation?

  She smiles.

Fuck you, I said you had to make the egg.

She comes up and hugs me.

-Sister, you know that you have the monster birth canal. I can only make seeds.

I look annoyed at her as she moves the magic in my body.

Why are you making it so big?

-To better to replace the one we ate.

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

  You ate…

  She stared at me.

Fine, we ate it, I enjoyed it too.

She smiles as she makes the egg grow even larger. My body distorts and tears but it pulls back together as the egg passes through. A different yet even more painful experience. The nerves never die. The egg is out of me. I slump down over it but Violet nudges me to the side

Violet picks the egg up and a container appears at her feet. She cracks the egg and the slime plops out into it. It quivers a bit but settles. It has a slight red tinge.

  Should we make more?

-Probrably should ask the others first. I think Cecelia is getting tired of telling us not to be rash.

Was that before or after I made our title literal. I'm ready to return to my attendant form. I'm getting thirsty being like this.

She hands me the blood skin. I look at her with a raised eyebrow. She just motions me to drink.

You have gained [Embrace Thirst] Intermediate 1

You have gained [Embrace Bliss] Intermediate 1

  Gain 8 exp

-It's no fun without the writhing, system.

I roll my eyes. She turns towards me.

-Time for five more hydra eggs.

I do not have the time to raise more hydras.

She holds her body for a moment. I grow morose, her true self can not physically laugh. She looks up and finger flicks me in the forehead. She looks up to the sky.

-I might be [Voiceless] system, but I still laugh at your trials.

My eyes widened. I feel our soul fundamentally changing at her declaration…what was a mental lock becomes a truth of our existence. I start to laugh. I can hear it.

  Seriously? Laugh at its trials?

She audibly sighs. I hug her and she returns it. I don't think we will ever talk in our true form again, but we can at least laugh. We both shed some blood tears, it seems we have become grosser.

-Sorry, I made it both better and worse.

I shake my head, so about hydras?

-I think our three headed hydras can take care of their sisters.

What if they are slain? That's three days of starvation.

-I don't see a scenario where the big sister dies but the baby lives. It will be fine.

I step away from her before she hugs me again. She raises an eyebrow.

I fear this body is still too small. You would break my mind birthing more than one.

She smiles and hugs me. Instead of an egg being formed she instead pushes her blood into my body. I feel it condense as she begins to shrink.

  Sister, what are you doing?

She doesn't answer but stops when she is the size of a toddler. She then makes me grow. I am bigger than I have ever been. The birthing will be possible but her blood feels awkward in me. As if I hadn't drunk it. There had been no bliss.

Let us hurry sister, your essence feels awkward.

-I suppose it would, I had forced it into you.

I still ended up drinking a great deal of blood. We left the eggs in our own personal instance but we did go and make some water and fish eggs around our hydra islands. Plenty of swamp plants as well. Violet had to make seeds for that. We actually managed to burn more blood than we made today. She pulled her blood back into herself when it was all said and done.

Busy night. You look nervous, sister.

-I'm afraid our attendant forms will be just as mute.

  I hugged her.

We can not properly serve tea without saying the words, now can we?

That brings a smile to her face. She nods and changes my body back to being bipedal.

  “Thank you, sister.”

Her smile grows and returns to two legs as well.

  “No, thank you.”

I tilt my neck before she heads off to Kalidia and Mags.

“Come sister, take a bit of myself with you. You may need to be a steed again.”

She wrinkles her nose but takes the offered neck. She drinks deeply. A freely given transference of our being, her body grows while I shrink. Her body quivers but she only takes a few inches. She lets go and heals the wound. She pulls her body back down to its previous height. Then smiles and forces my height to regain a few inches at the expense of my bust.

“I think I would have preferred to be shorter.”

“Oh just stuff your bra. I'll make sure to return your blood with interest, sister.”

I stick my tongue at her as she hops away.

  -----

Delores laughs at my flatness. I sigh.

“Mistress, it is hard to set your hair with you laughing like this.”

“Sorry it just, to be taller you had to give up your bust…o systems you still feel shorter.”

I murmured, "It's only a few inches.” Her laughter continues.

  -----

“Are we not going to take a carriage?”

I roll my eyes as I begin to walk with Mags.

“Afraid of walking, Kal? We will be going through lands without roads.”

“Oh, I was just asking. I can keep up.”

I smile and take in the scents. I feel the range is less. Smaller lungs. Mags looks at me.

“Nothing yet, I will make myself bigger to get a better set of lungs when we are past civilization.”

“Cecelia was rather cross with me about letting you have such tiny things.”

Kal looks confused, “What happened to your lungs?”

“Oh just the typical Sara removing her vital organs moment.”

“Not exactly vital when I literally breathe through my skin now.”

“Says the one who couldn't talk after she fully removed them.”

  “Wait, you removed your lungs?”

  “I put them back...mostly.”

Mags barks a laugh at that, “You're mostly is akin to what you left your sister with in the chest department.”

I laugh too, she is still annoyed at that.

“But Red was flat as a board today, I still don't understand.”

  -----

  “Your tea, my mistress.”

Another graveyard tea party. Jasmine has returned. She was still nervous of me but she was delighted by Ratagin. I feel we bonded over our shared love of rat backflips.

“Are you not tired of this, Jasmine?” Jeremy scoffs, he seems more annoyed than usual.

“Nonsense, how can you not be delighted by this...” She looks at me.

  “Ratagin, miss.”

“Ratagin's backflips. I must strive to improve so that I can make him do more.”

She does seem a bit worn. I step forward. She shys away.

I touch the mithril rat, imparting the compel by touch. Backflip. He does and Jasmine claps as a smile blooms.

  -----

  Kalidia stumbles. I caught her.

  “Sorry.”

I shake my head, “Should be far enough, mother.”

Mags stops as I will my clothes away. I grow as far as I can but it's only slightly taller than six kings feet. Kalidia steps back, averting her eyes with a blush. Sister is never going to let me live this down.

  -Thats three you've enamored.

At least they are my age, Barbara still blushes at you whenever she thinks you are not looking.

  -Gross.

I concur. I take a moment to breathe in the air again. The range is still smaller than it was originally but I catch a whiff of creeping leech vine. I point to the north west.

“That direction, mother. There are goblins that way as well though, we will need to detour around them.”

She gives me a kind smile and nods.

  “Why not slay them?”

Kalidia does not understand my avoidance. I sigh.

“I prefer not to kill just because they are there.”

“But they would do the same to you.”

“As they should, we are invaders after all.”

“We are still in Xavious lands. If anyone is an invader, they are.”

She is growing agitated at my remarks. I turn towards her.

“Here is a free secret for you Kal, since you won't understand otherwise. I live the lives of those I slay. I am them. Their souls become a part of mine. I ate a goblin skeleton once. While her memories were fragmented, they still see the land as theirs. They don't understand our Queendom, only the forest around them. But they love and cherish each other. For raping little bastard that they are. So I will avoid killing them, to spare the sadness I would cause in both myself and in the ones who would inevitably survive.”

She was taken aback by this. An audible gulp. We continue on towards the vine.

  -----

This is a daily reminder: You have 48 unallocated stat points

Is it really roughing it when you just return to our dungeon to rest.

-Shush, why not enjoy the benefits while I am still in range.

I smile. Kalidia and Mags are still asleep in our back room.

-I should return your blood, I can't keep track of scents in my true form.

Probably because you are over thinking it. Just put on your gills and pull the air through your nose and out the gills.

  She laughs.

You have gained [Dungeon 4] Competent 1

Competent - 2 more keys, your efficiency grows

  Gain 16 exp

At least it wasn't ground breaking. Need to get on top of our Hydra breeding game.

  -----

Kalidia yawns. I am still my towering self but with clothing this time.

“You may wish to look away, Kal.”

She frowns but turns around. I will my clothing away and become my true self, sans the horn. Gills sprout on my neck and I pull the air through them via my nose and mouth. Damn it, sister was right. My scent range is greater than before. I put my new set of robes on. I tap Kalidia's shoulder. She stubbles backward when she sees my gloriousness, whispering bone white. I feel Mag's annoyance growing with my own.

“You don't have lungs in that form, do you?”

And with that my annoyance grows morose. I give her a sad smile, a fairy illusion appears and speaks for me, “The dungeon is silent as well when I am in this form now. My sister made a comment that we were truly [Voiceless] now and our soul responded and took our voice. I can't even force air up my throat. I'm sorry, mother.”

She hugged me, “So that was why the dungeon shuddered. A mental lock then?”

“It was before I demanded more from my soul. I regained my laughter.” I look down, my melancholy just grows.

She sighs and grips me tighter, “Don't ever be ashamed of what you need to be, daughter. I will adjust as necessary. Just try not to lose yourself.”

I nod and hugged her back. Then I lowered myself towards Kalidia. The fairy speaks.

  “Your noble steed awaits, Kal.”

  “You can't be serious.”

  My laugh brightens Mag's mood.

“It's why I made Red flat chested and nine years old, do not put her sacrifice to waste. We will make better time with you riding.” To be honest the stacked seven year old just looked creepy.

  -Fuck you too.

Kalidia swallows her mortification and climbs onto my back.
