Dear Dad,
They’ve gone out again. Reese went with them this time. He said that he recovered enough to go, but he still winces sometimes when he moves wrong, so I don’t think he is, but he’s insistent. Grace is doing better, in no small part, due to what the healer had done for her. The magic definitely sped up the healing. She’s still weak, but she’s doing a lot better, and the scratch marks look closer to scars than to the open wounds they should be.
I’m glad she’s healing so quickly. Ben has helped her so much.
I was so scared for her. -She’s probably my closest friend, and I just-
she’s recovering now, and I think that even if they don’t kill the owlbear when the others return, they’ll want to leave here. I don’t think that’s a good idea for Grace, but I know I don’t have a choice. Sometimes, the others just make choices.

We’re still looking for the city, but one of the people at the closest thing to a mayor’s office let me look at the maps yesterday after the others had left to try to hunt the bear again. I think we’re close, or at least closer than I thought we were. There’s def some signs that the map that Riley stole is a better map than the one in the mayor’s office. But I just wanted a second thing to look at, cause I know that a lot of maps will show different or slightly different things to avoid having them just be copied.
As it is, there’s a smaller city that isn’t too far from here that I think we’ll be able to get to pretty fast, and that’ll be super cool. Maybe they’ll have a way home for us so much sooner than if we went to the bigger place. I know it’s a really, really high hope, but you gotta sometimes, ya know?
Or maybe another magical healer to heal Grace the rest of the way.
The scars might look cool, but I doubt she’ll want to remember the pain that she went through.
I think the others are back now, I can hear a big hubbub outside. I’ll write back soon, so don’t worry too much about me.
Love, Jack
