Dear Dad,
Despite how I thought today was going to go, it went badly.
We had to leave the village pretty suddenly. When I thought it was like Uncle Jay's wedding, I was pretty on the money to celebrate the "auspicious occasion" they were making people marry.
I think making was a bit of a strong word. In some cases, people were very excited, but they wanted all of us to marry local, and I know I was not alone in not wanting that.
You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.
So we made a less-than-subtle escape while Plena, an honestly really pretty girl all but hung off of Reese, trying to convince him to stick around. I think if Riley hadn't dragged him away, he might have actually agreed.
So now we're in the woods again, fun.
I'll write when we're somewhere I can write again,
Love, Jack
