Early Author Update

  Howdy folks,

I was just informed by Darker, one of QuestWright's readers, that I forgot the Reader Quest update this week. My apologies, and you'll find it below. Also, I too, did not complete the Stalwart Quest. It's likely the last one I put up there, because I'm fat and lazy. It's easy for me to do the following quest (QuestWright bias), and I've had a busy week (Have to work all weekend).

  Quest ID: JDM-0001-TT-EA

  [Tier 1 Mentor Quest]

The world is filled with both the knowledgable and the unknowing. Find someone, teach them a new subject that they know nothing about. Fill their minds with information that may help them in the future. You never know whose life you may improve.

Reward for completion: 5 XP + Modifiers

  The Original QuestWright

And, since Royal Road requires that each new chapter be a minimum of 500 words, here's a few comments about my state of being and how the story is doing.

  QuestWright Reviews:

Got a few negative, which is natural. One of my favorite and most frustrating things about Royal Road is the diversity. I got a negative review because the story had fighting in it. I got another negative review because the story didn't have enough fighting in it. I also got a few negative comments circling the idea of not enjoying Cass's growth as it's too slow, too fast, or boring.

If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

My response to this is as it always is, meh. I got negative reviews like that all the time for Symphony. What people seem to forget is these are my rough drafts. I write the rough draft, it goes to a beta reader, goes back to me for another edit, then Patreon before landing in front of you lovely people. There will still be errors, and naturally because it's a web serial, some things will be confusing until I get the final published edits out. Just standard web serial problems.

  Symphony update:

Symphony book 1 is doing very well. It's been on and off of four bestseller lists since its release almost a month ago. The hardest thing about Amazon releases is the lack of ratings and reviews. The book is selling well according to all metrics I've seen for a debut author, but it's tough to really break into the LitRPG market with a niche dungeon-core-like story.

But, on the bright side, Symphony book 2 is now available for pre-order, and has one of the most unique covers I've seen within our genre. It's due out November 25th, audiobook/paperback and all, with the third in the series coming out in February.

  Now, lastly, Quest rewards.

What kind of communally funded Quest rewards would you like to see from the Reader Quests? If you come up with something fun enough, even if it costs me a little $, I'm happy to support it. But I need ideas people. Currently, I'm editing Symphony book 4, writing QuestWright (16 chapters ahead on Patreon? Something like that), and plotting a Novella I long ago promised my Symphony crew. There's very little brain space right now for Reader Quest rewards, so I'm trying to open up the floor to suggestions.

Anyways, that's 500 words from me. I hope you're all doing very well and enjoying (for my NA people) the end of Summer. Thank you so very much for being here, and as a fun shout-out to one of my readers, if you check the last few chapters, you'll find a bit of poetry in the comments.

  Thanks again and take care.
