Howdy friends,
I wanted to take a beat and let you know, that I've decided to extend the daily chapter postings through the weekend. That means, when Chapter 20 hits, the story will be moving into the standard M & F format I originally wrote about in the blurb.
That's for a multitude of reasons, including:
1. I like you
2. We hit Rising Stars (Is it on Main? I can't tell...probably not)
3. There's a big cliffhanger on 17, the original cutoff point. Normally, I'd be like, PATREON, GO READ IT ON PATREON. But meh. Yes, my Patreon is fairly cheap to read ahead, but since this is the first twenty chapters of the story, I'm not that douchey about it.
4. Two chapters a week is fairly slow for a lot of people, but not for me. These chapters are going through an extensive process of editing, checking against my plot map, and planning for the future. Some things that have been pointed out in comments have been fixed already, other "problems" aren't problems to me. They're subplot. Things that will build up and turn into something else later on.
5. Page count feeds the beast.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Now, the other reason for this note was to say thank you. The reception to the story so far has been leagues above my first ever series, Symphony. While Symphony is a focus on how to build a LitRPG world from scratch, this series obviously focuses on something slightly similar...Quests. Though I'm writing into the 30's now (Chapters), there's so much room for Cassio's growth that it's insane. When I first started planning this, I thought it would go a->b->c in route. But as occurs when you're writing "in the moment" it hasn't exactly turned out that way.
Why did I say all that? Because in the last chapter, you got a little taste of combat. Is it right and proper to throw a QuestWright into combat situations? Not necessarily. Will this happen super often? No. But it does happen, because that's the world they live in. It's not all daisies and sunshine. Life following the Reshaping has consequences.
The longer this story continues, the more Cassio and the plot will evolve. That's intentional.
Also, to answer a few more questions I've received.
Yes, QuestWright is based in the U.S. Authors write what we know, and I'm American. Chicago is the location of the Capital, and Liora has a firm location many know. This, too, gets revealed with time.
Yes, something weird is going on with his body. Prepare for a Dumbledore moment.
No, we're not going to continue living in Exposition-land. That arc is coming to a close soonish.
Yes, we're going to see more Callings and the effect they have on jobs as time moves. It's very slow at the lower levels, but it becomes much faster as they move up the Tiers. Tiers work like this: 1-10, Tier 1. 11-20, Tier 2, and so on.
Finally,
A thank you to my Symphonians who have continued reading my story, and a hello to you Questors who have only recently discovered my writing. I greatly, greatly appreciate you being here, and I hope you stay for a very long time (six books planned, but remember, Symphony was only supposed to be one book...it ended on 750k+ words and four books. I'm not perfect.)
So, that's all for me. I really hope you're enjoying the story, and talk to you soonish. (I do an update about every 20 chapters)
