The year is 128 AM (after Middleworld). An old man arrives to a small village. He approaches one of the houses in the village, and as soon as he gets close, a little boy runs out and shouts, "Grandpa!"
The two haven't seen each other in a long time because the boy's grandfather is a highly respected member of the Black Crystal Kingdom's army. The boy's grandfather is welcomed into the house and shares some wonderful news from the kingdom with his family.
"Imagine, the king has a second son! There will be a big celebration. It's going to be a lot of fun!!! I won't be able to enjoy it myself very much because I'm one of the people who will be on guard to make sure nothing dangerous happens at the celebration... Although I highly doubt that anything dangerous will happen. BUT LISTEN, I can bring a few guests with me, so start packing because you're coming with me to the kingdom!
All the family members were very excited, but the most excited was definitely the boy who was the first to welcome his grandfather when he arrived. His name was Zin.
Later that evening, Zin was put to bed by his grandfather, but before Zin went to sleep, he had one request.
"Grandpa, please tell me the story of the conqueror. I know the story is very interesting, so I would like to hear it before we arrive to the kingdom."
"All right, get ready, because the story is quite long."
More than a century ago, the first foot stepped onto the continent where we now live. Later, this continent was named Middleworld because it is located between two continents, Southles and Northlak... but Northlak was discovered after Middleworld, which is why Middleworld got its name later.
"Grandpa, ENOUGH, I want to hear about the conquest, not geography!!!!!"
"Yea, yeah, sorry, I'll get to the point."
Eight ruins were discovered in Middleworld, each with a large stone in the center, which had a small glowing stone in the middle, later named Crystal. People began to build small villages around these ruins, which expanded into large villages, small towns, and so on. But no one knew what these glowing crystals did... until Horw the first arrived in Middleworld.
Horw had a great vision to find out what the Crystals could do. Horw was from a very powerful family that owned a city on the continent of Southles. Therefore, Horw came to the continent with a strong army of knights. Horw began to build a small village near the last Crystal, around which no one had yet built anything. Probably because people preferred to build around more distinctive colors such as blue, red, and so on. So Horw began to build around the Crystal, which was black in color. However, his goal was not to build a city with the Crystal at its center, but to find out what this Crystal could do.
Horw contacted his acquaintance. Horw's acquaintance, whom you called the Wizard, was interested in magic. Most people didn't take him seriously, but that was about to change. The Wizard had been studying the ruins of the Black Crystal for ten years, reading old books from Southles for any clue as to what the Black Crystal might be. One day, he came across a book that everyone thought was just a fantasy story. The main character in the book had a sword called "Dark End." This sword had the power to control shadows and death. There was nothing special about the book until the Wizard looked at a drawing of the sword. The sword had a small hole in it's handle, and inside it had black stone... a Crystal.

The wizard realized what he had to do. He forced Horw's best blacksmiths to create a sword based on the picture. The most important thing was that the crystal fit exactly into the hole in the sword. The crystal was carefully carved out of the ruins so that the blacksmiths would know what the hole should look like. The carpenters were careful not to touch the crystal, because rumors were circulating around Middleworld that those who touched the crystal with their bare hands were "burned" by the crystal's powerful energy.
The sword was finally finished, and the Crystal was placed into the sword, fitting perfectly into the hole. Black energy began to spurt from the Crystal, as if it were about to explode, until Horw grabbed the sword. The black energy passed through Horw. Horw looked at his army, raised the sword into the air, and released shadow energy into it.
"Thank you, thank you all... it's time to conquer Middleworld."
And so it began. Horw started his conquest with his power of shadows, which allowed him to travel through shadows and release dark energy strong enough to defeat dozens of knights at once and above all, the most powerful thing about the Black Crystal, Horw was able to control dead bodies and use them to create a larger and larger army.
Slowly but surely, he began to acquire every Crystal. Horw suffered minimal losses on his side, thanks to the power of the Black Crystal and later the power of the Brown Crystal, for which he had a war hammer forged and gave it to the Wizard, the power of the Blue Crystal, for which he had a trident forged and gave it to his brother, and the power of the Green Crystal, for which he had a bow made and gave it to a close ally in his army. However, he did not obtain the yellow, light blue, red, and white crystals so easily, because the rest of the continent began to learn about Horw's battles.
Gold IV discovered how to use the yellow Crystal thanks to information he received from a spy in Horw's army. When Horw's army arrived at the ruins of the yellow Crystal, no battle took place because Horw did not want to risk losses on his side due to the power of the yellow Crystal. For this reason, Horw and Gold agreed on peace.
The inhabitants of the town around the red Crystal climbed a nearby volcano and shot arrows at Horw's army. As a bonus, they carved the red Crystal out of the ruins and placed it on top of the volcano. Of all the battles, the losses here were the greatest, because the inhabitants of the town around the red ruins were the only ones who fought to the last. In the end, Horw sent his army of the dead to the volcano and the inhabitants were razed to the ground. But it is said that a few of them hid and secretly joined Horw's conquered world.
The white Crystal was obtained quickly, but it was more like Crystals, because when one of the citizens of the town around the ruins of the White Crystal learned that Horw was approaching, he decided to split the Crystal in half with an axe... I don't know how, but it really worked, thanks to which the Crystal was split into two halves. But that didn't stop Horw's blacksmiths, because they created chain sickles as weapons for the white Crystal, with each sickle having a place for one half of the Crystal.
When Horw arrived at the northernmost point of Middleworld, the site of the ruins of the light blue Crystal, the inhabitants of the city were gone and there was only a message left behind
"Horw, I am taking my people and moving to the continent or island we discovered north from here. We do not want to submit to your vision. Leave us be."
Horw decided to respect this decision. After all, the sea separating these two places is very rough. With this decision, the conquest of Middleworld was over.
"Well, that's the end. Time to sleep."
"GRANDPA, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GO TO SLEEP AFTER THAT? I thought it was a nice story about the unification of Middleworld!!!"
"Zin. History may be a little cruel, but the result is clear. Middleworld functions in harmony, and that's only thanks to Horw. Blood was shed, but if it weren't for the conquest, who knows what chaos Middleworld would be in."
"I guess you're right, so good night."
''Good night Zin, we're heading out tomorrow.''
That day, all the members of Zin's family fell asleep peacefully. But who could have guessed that just few hours away from their home, a great tragedy had befallen the kingdom of black Crystal.
