Chapter III - Execution

"Get up, I can't wait to see you lose your head." - Said one of the guards as he led False to the place where his life would end.

The place of execution was located in front of the castle gates. In front of the castle gates is a large area where the army, horse-drawn carriages, and so on usually gather. When an execution takes place in the kingdom of black Crystal, it is usually held in a more private location. However, this situation is different because False murdered a member of the royal family. The entire population should witness this execution.

False knelt before the gates of the kingdom. Next to him stood the executioner, ready to take his head. Other people standing in front of the gate were the royal family, namely Horwann, Horw, and Horwann's only daughter, Shade. The last person standing in front of the gate was the army leader, ready to intervene in any dangerous situation.

Opposite these people stood the population of the city build in front of the kingdom. Quinn, for example, was in the front rows. A few members of the army stood around Quinn, in case anyone happened to connect the queen's death with Quinn.

This is such a disaster, poor False's boys, punished for something their father did. These rules... make me want to vomit. "They are the descendants of a murderer, so they too can become murderers"... what nonsense. And it makes me want to vomit even more when I watch the man who was closest to me just the day before yesterday being executed for the murder of the wife of a man who is also very close to me. How can this be happening? - Quinn's thoughts were clear. Alive on the outside, dead on the inside, that's how he felt.

There were many thoughts circulating around the scene. But they all calmed down when Horwann began his speech.

"Shut up!! Nobody wants to hear this! Just die already!!!" - The audience erupted, everyone started yelling at False. Horwann is a highly respected king and his wife was a highly respected queen. Horwann has ruled for over fifteen years and the kingdom has flourished during those fifteen years. No one wants to hear an apology; everyone is here for a clear reason, and the audience's reactions made that clear to False.

"Sorry. I guess I got off on the wrong foot." False began to speak again, and the audience fell silent.

"The deed has been done, now is not the time for apologies. Before I leave this world, I want to leave something behind. No matter what happens, remember that the rays of hope will always shine..."

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

"ENOUGH! What the hell are you talking about?" A voice rang out from the row standing next to False... it was Horw.

Horw came up to the kneeling False and grabbed him by his thin shirt.

"WHAT RAYS? What are you even saying? Do you realize you killed my mom?"

The entire audience froze in front of the stage, everyone knew that what Horw was doing was informal, but on the other hand, who could blame him. Shade began to cry even more, Horwann began to shake with stress. The army leader put his hand on Horwann's shoulder.

"Your Highness, what should I do?" Horwann didn't utter a word... Meanwhile, Horw continued to bring False back to reality.

"How dare you try to fool us!?? Have you forgotten what you did yesterday? Have you forgotten??? - Horw held False tighter and tighter. False looked like he wanted to say something, but on the other hand, what could he say to a child whose mother he had killed yesterday?

Suddenly, Horw's grip loosened. Horw turned to the audience.

"It's time to end this damn charade."

Horw took the axe from the executioner's hand. Taking the axe was very easy because even the executioner himself didn't know how to react to the situation. Everyone either stood like statues or were wiping away their tears.

"Your final words are D-E-C-L-I-N-E-D." - Said Horw as he aimed the axe at False's eyes. Horw raised the axe into the air. Horwann finally woke up from his trance, but it was too late, the axe was aimed at full speed at False's head.

  False is dead.

Horw stared at False's dead body for a moment. The axe was in his head, instead of the executioner cutting it off... but the execution was complete. Horw looked at the audience again and then walked back behind the gates of the kingdom.

The entire area in front of the gates of the kingdom was silent. Slowly, the crowds began to disperse. The royal servants carried away False's body. Finally, Horwann also began to leave.

"Quinn, if you're okay... call the big five. We need to finish planning of the celebration."

  "Yes... yes, Your Highness."

The big five began planning the final details of the celebration. The planning was scheduled for last night, but we can say that the plans were interrupted. But maybe it's good not to cancel the celebration, everyone will have something else to think about, it'll be fun... it'll be big.

"Hello gentlemen, I heard that tomorrow there will be a celebration in the kingdom of black Crystal. Do you know what time is the celebration?" - A mysterious person asked two men riding in a carriage along the coast.

"Hahaha, how should we know that? Only invited guests can attend the celebration."

"Oh, yes, that makes sense. Sorry to bother you. Have a nice trip." - The two men continued on their way.

"I'm glad that person didn't ask us any more questions, he gave me the creeps."

"Me too, God. What was that on his forehead? A third eye?"

"I really don't know, but hopefully I'll never see that person again."
