“What’s wrong with him?” While calculating the total amount of spoils the Moonblade party had sold, the Fairy noticed a young human lying on the ground, struggling to breathe.
So, he scanned the human with his Soul and found something incredible.
“This…” The Fairy was at a loss for words. He couldn’t believe his eyes.
The young human before him was awakening an Innate Body, and from the looks of it, the rank of the Body was extremely high.
Going by the new standards, the Innate Body was at least of Emperor Rank.
“Dada… Dada…”
“Friday, how many times have I told you, I can’t get you until….”
“Is it my baby? Let me talk. I haven’t spoken to him for more than a year.”
Using the communication treasure his father had given him, Friday immediately contacted his Dada back in Fairyland.
After all, the reason fairies spent so much money was to poach as many talents from lower worlds as possible.
And the human boy before him was exactly that kind of candidate.
“Mama, not now. I have something important to talk to Dada.” Not wanting to waste the precious energy of the treasure, Friday asked Mama to hand the call over.
“What…?” Friday’s Dada didn’t like the way he spoke to his Mama, so his voice carried a hint of anger.
“Dada, I found a human with an Innate Body, and it seems to be of Emperor Rank… Dada? Are you there… Dada?”
After Friday mentioned the rank of the Innate Body, there was complete silence on the other side.
“Are you sure it’s an Emperor Rank Innate Body?” Finally, a voice sounded in his mind, and Friday felt relieved. It seemed the connection hadn’t been cut.
“I am. Here is the data.” Using the treasure, Friday sent the detailed information about the changes inside Kenji’s body back to Fairyland.

Once again, there was complete silence.
Meanwhile, Emli was growing a little impatient, as the Fairy was taking far longer than usual.
“We’re in a bit of a hurry.” Emli spoke bluntly, glaring at the Fairy, barely the size of her palm.
Shifting his focus back to the humans before him, Friday double-checked the spoils and handed her the money.
“Here, good work today! …Rest for a while, then we’ll head back!” Taking the money, Emli began handing out the payments to the workers.
Transporting carcasses was a dangerous job, so workers demanded to be paid the moment they returned to the city.
Even the Moonblade party’s contracted workers, who were crazy for their goddesses, were no exception.
“Want me to help you get up?” By the time Emli finished distributing everyone’s wages, Kenji’s breathing had stabilized, and some color had returned to his face.
“I… I… am… good.” Kenji replied in his usual nervous, stuttering voice.
“Kid, you don’t look like you’re in any shape to go back for another trip. So, here.” Emli tossed a silver coin onto Kenji’s chest and turned away to look for more temporary workers.
Still lying on the ground, Kenji picked up the silver coin and hurriedly hid it.
“Get out of the way, boy.” Soon after the Moonblade party left, another party arrived to sell their spoils. Seeing Kenji blocking the area, a worker carrying a wild boar shouted in a grumpy voice.
The weight was killing his back, and here was a kid blocking his path.
“Let the boy be.” Sensing that a human was about to disturb someone in the middle of awakening an Innate Body, the Fairy stopped the man and cast a protective spell on Kenji.
“...Sorry about that.” Before the man could even retreat because of the Fairy’s presence, Kenji pushed himself up and stepped aside.
Leaving the Fairy stall behind, Kenji wandered around a little. With so much happening inside his body, he wanted to find a quiet alleyway where he could rest and calm himself.
Watching the human child walk away, the Fairy named Friday felt the urge to stop him.
However, there had been no reply from his Dada, and since he had already placed a mark on the boy, he decided to continue his work, cashing out the spoils for the hunters.
“Friday, no need to bother with the human child.” Half an hour later, Friday’s Dada’s disappointed voice echoed in his mind.
After receiving the data regarding the human’s Innate Body, Friday’s Dada had immediately taken it to a Fairy Appraiser. Any excitement he once had vanished the moment he heard the appraisal.
Although it was true that the human child had awakened an Emperor Rank Innate Body, it belonged to the Magic Path, the [Mana Child].
If the human had begun on the Magic Path instead of the Ki Path, he would have been guaranteed to become a Supreme Mage, a level equivalent to a Second Transformation Transcendent titled Emperor, under the new naming system established by His Majesty.
However, since the child already possessed Source Ki, his [Mana Child] Innate Body was not only useless; it was dangerous.
If the conflict between the Innate Body [Mana Child] and [Source Ki] was not resolved within a few hours, the human child risked exploding from within.
The best-case scenario was the clash between the two would result in a winner.
However if the innate body [Mana Child] won, it would have spent so much essence that it would fall from Emperor Rank Innate body to Lord rank or even possibly Mortal rank.
But if the Source Ki won, it would devour the Emperor body [Mana Child] and might only develop an Innate Mortal body.
“....Okay, Dada.” At first, Friday wanted to argue. But knowing that his Dada was a renowned Lord, he trusted his judgment and didn't say a word.
Meanwhile on the other side, Kenji found a remote alleyway and leaned against the wall.
During this whole time, the clash between two forces intensified, the strange force that emerged from his body was throwing hands with the Source Ki.
Before long an hour went by and the clash between them had no sign of stopping.
“Please don't let anything happen to my Source Ki.” Currently the Source Ki was the only beacon of hope in his life, and Kenji didn't want to lose it.
