“This is such a waste, we should split up.” After killing the second Grey Hound of the day, Zhen felt they were wasting manpower.
He would lure the Grey Hound and Kenji would kill it using [Ki Blade].
During the whole time, Joon and Anon were free and hardly had to help.
“We are going to split up.” When Joon and Anon returned from hiding the Grey Hound carcass, Zhen said.
“I don't think it's a good idea.” Anon was the first one to object.
Each Grey Hound territory spans tens of acres, and finding a Grey Hound in a densely forested area is really hard.
The only reason they could find the Grey Hounds quickly was all thanks to Zhen's sensory Gift. Otherwise, they would have to spend hours walking in circles before finally coming across a Grey Hound.
This was one of the main reasons why people hunted Blood Hounds more than Grey Hounds.
“Don't worry, I will lead you to a Grey Hound. Then you and Kenji will hunt it, while Joon and I will head for the location of the next Hound. If you encounter any problem, just run away.” Zhen immediately saw through Anon's concerns.
He wasn't going to do something as foolish as letting Kenji and Anon go look for a Grey Hound on their own.
Instead, he would guide them to a Grey Hound before taking Joon with him to look for another Grey Hound.
This way, while Kenji and Anon will be busy killing the Grey Hound, he will have already found another one.
“I don't have any problem with it.” As an archer, Joon always provided support from a distance.
So, he didn't care if Zhen would fight the Grey Hound all by himself because if things went south, he would easily make a run for it.
“Kenji, recover your Ki while walking.” As both Anon and Joon agreed, Zhen said to Kenji, who was sitting under the tree to recover his lost Ki.

“Go take care of it.” Ten minutes later, Zhen found a Grey Hound and left Kenji and Anon to take care of it.
“How should we do it?” Seeing Zhen and Joon leave, Anon turned to Kenji and asked, while his mouth ran dry.
He always hunted monsters with Zhen by his side. Over time, he had developed a dependence on him.
Now, even knowing full well that Kenji could kill a Grey Hound with one attack, Anon couldn't help but feel nervous without Zhen there to have his back.
“I will…attack it, you…make sure…it doesn't run…away.” With his strong body and the recently acquired gift, Kenji wasn't worried about a Grey Hound.
“Are you sure?” Anon wasn't sure if Kenji could handle a Grey Hound all by himself, as all the Grey Hounds he had seen Kenji kill were with the help of a surprise attack.
“Don't…worry.” Kenji gave Anon a reassuring smile and then walked toward the Grey Hound slowly.
With each step he took, he kept concentrating Ki at the tip of his finger. He wanted to take out the Grey Hound with [Beam].
Seeing the human, the Grey Hound got excited. How could he not be? Ascend Credit was walking toward him.
Without any delay, he activated [Wild Power] and pounced at the human.
Seeing the Grey Hound covered in wild aura charge at him, Kenji's heartbeat accelerated a little, causing the concentrated Ki to rebound and the skill [Beam] to fail.
“I need…more practice.” Muttering to himself, Kenji used [Flash] to dodge the upcoming Grey HHound
He thought with [Beam] he could instantly kill the Grey Hound even if it had [Iron Body], but it seems his mastery of [Beam] still wasn't enough.
Just a slight increase in heartbeat caused the skill to fail.
“What is he standing still?” Standing a few meters away from Kenji, Anon was feeling extremely nervous with Kenji just standing in place.
Didn't he know the Grey Hound would bite his head off any second if he didn't move?
Just as Anon was about to brace himself for blood splatter, Kenji disappeared and reappeared above the Grey Hound and launched a Ki wave at the hound.
Which penetrated the [Wild Power] and killed it.
“This…” For a second, Anon was dumbfounded.
He always thought Kenji was just lucky to get his hands on a powerful skill. If Zhen and he didn't help him ambush the Grey Hound, Kenji would never be able to kill it on his own.
To him, Kenji didn't have any battle sense since he always stayed in one place and swung his sword in the air.
“Anon,…take care of it. I need…to recover my…Ki.” After killing the Grey Hound, Kenji collected Ki and then cut off the supply of Ki to focus on recovering.
Hearing Kenji’s voice, Anon came back to his senses and hurried over to hide the Grey Hound carcass.
After a while, Anon and Kenji headed toward the Zhen and Joon direction.
“Zhen!! Joon!!” Anon screamed at the top of his lungs when he didn't see any of them after walking for a while.
“Here!” Before long, a voice came. Following the voice, both Anon and Kenji found Zhen and Joon.
“That was quick.” Zhen was still fighting the Grey Hound when Anon and Kenji arrived. Seeing them, Zhen was surprised.
They were able to handle a Grey Hound so quickly all by themselves.
“Anon, hurry up and help me.” Because of a little distraction, the Grey Hound caught Zhen off guard and gained the upper hand.
Knowing that if someone didn't help him soon he would die, Zhen called out to Anon.
As for why he didn't ask Kenji for help, it was because he knew using [Ki Blade] drained the majority of Kenji's reserves, and he just needed to distract the Grey Hound for a short while.
“On it.” The moment Anon heard Zhen's voice, his body moved on its own.
For the Grey Hound, Anon joining the fray was a death sentence.
After killing the Grey Hound, Zhen led them to the next Grey Hound, and before long it was evening.
“Are you sure this is where you hid it?” Zhen asked Joon as they were missing a Grey Hound carcass. “Forget it, some flying monster would have gotten to it.”
Since they didn't find the carcass after looking around, Zhen put all the blame on the flying monsters.
It seemed their plan of hiding the carcass under the most dense tree wasn't as foolproof as they thought.
