After so much work and energy I had finally gotten a real hit on this man! But I couldn’t celebrate yet, The Knight Commander was already getting angrier from me wounding him.
“WHY YOU MISERABLE LITTLE CRETIN!!” Tobias angrily yelled as he grabbed me and hurled me out of the way.
I crashed into a building, coughing up blood from the intense impact. My body was already trying to recover from our earlier fight, so I was already weakened. That throw only made it worse. Not only that but I was tapped out of mana. I doubt I could continue this fight for much longer.
I had considered escaping but that wouldn’t be possible either. Not while the man had a way to somehow track me. I had to find out at the very least, so I tried to inspect him to see if there was a skill or item on him.
As I tried to inspect him all I was given by him was his stats, still the same as before with his [Skills] and [Abilities] still locked from my sight. Wouldn’t have matter if I could, if it was some kind of skill then I wouldn’t be able to stop him from tracking me.
As for his gear…. It still showed his sword and armor. But curiously enough his armor had [Broken] next to it. Probably from when I tore it apart. Good to know at least…. And last but not least, there was one more item that had pop up on my notification.
I see so that’s what it was. When I think about it, that would explain a few things. I had wondered if he knew whether he could specifically find me or something similar, or if he could find my exact location or not. From the description of the item, he could only get a general idea of a specific monster. That would mean that he knew to locate a kobold specifically that night. It would also explain how I managed to escape their prison as well, with …. That other kobold…. In the vicinity they wouldn’t pinpoint it towards me specifically.
That would mean if I used one of my fellow kobolds as bait then….no that’s not an option. I’m not going to drag any of my minions in MY fight!
I struggled back up, Tobias furiously coming after me. My body was exhausted, but I had to push through it. At the very least, I need to find where he has that locator on him. I sheathed my weapon for the time being and began to run. That proved to be pointless. He quickly tackled me and slammed me against the wall again.
Either he wanted me to suffer, or he was still following his orders to bring me back alive since he could have finished me off by cutting me in half… I can’t say that makes me lucky. Considering what would be waiting for me back at the castle… Damn it! I can barely move my body now no matter how much I try to force myself. At most I could get myself back up, but that’s it….
Seeing my struggle, Tobias angrily grabbed me by the neck. “Now it’s time to return you back to your cell little kobold.”
He tightened his hold on me as I uselessly struggled in his arms. “You caused more than enough damage to this kingdom. His highness will not be gentle with you, and I’ll personally see to your submission!”
I found it hard to breathe while he restrained me in his arm, but I managed to get some words in. “J-just like what you d-did with the other kobolds…?”
To my surprise, the knight commander stopped. His expression transitioning from pure anger to a neutral frown, only for a few seconds to change to a wicked smile.
“Seems you managed to get a sneak preview of your submission huh? Well don’t you worry. We’ll be giving you a very special ritual we’ve been meaning to test, and you’ll be the first one to try it out. It’s going to be a lot stronger than what you saw. ~”

…. This sick bastard!! I had thought it was just the pig of a king who was doing this, but it seemed I was wrong. As if in response, my own kobold instincts started to quiet down as if telling me that it agreed with my anger. My body pushed through the pain as it tried to move, this felt similar to the time I pushed my mana to its limits.
“Hah, I figured you would still have some kick left in you. Go on then, fight me.” Tobias mockingly declared while he dangled my body up in the air.
I continued to force my body to budge, ignoring the pain the best I can. Just a little more now….
As soon as the notification appeared, I suddenly felt some energy returned to my body though only enough to move more freely. My legs frantically moved as my arms tried to pull his grip off of me.
“Oh? Seems you got your second wind little kobold. Like that would do much.” Tobias continued to mock me. Getting a real thrill out of this as he wobbled me more to humiliate me.
It doesn’t matter, since I managed to push my [Health]’s rank then I could surely push another attribute! With as much strength as I could muster, I managed to free an arm and I swiftly raised one claw out towards the opening crack from the Knight Commander’s armor. I tried to gather whatever mana I had left in my reserves, but it felt like trying to fill a pool out of trickles of water!
“Don’t even bother little kobold, I already know you have no mana left to use.”
I ignored him as I continued to gather the tiny droplets of mana to my claw, I could feel my mind already start to waver. But I can’t let myself pass out just yet! Come on…. Come on….
Tobias continued to enjoy seeing me struggle so much. That didn’t last long as I can see that his enjoyment was already fading. His smile disappeared as he shook his head. “Now I had enough fun, it’s time to bring you to his highness.”
I barely managed to pull out a small pebble’s worth of mana. Not enough to do any real damage. I almost felt like giving up, I could already see my vision blurring out. I was going to pass out real soon…
…no!
Get it together! You are the Kobold Vladimir, the one who desires world conquest!! You will overcome this!!
The pebble’s worth of mana had suddenly exploded to the size of a softball. Not wasting this chance, I quickly unsheathed my sword before Tobias noticed and pointed it at him, as the blade extended. Stabbing through the hole in his armor and cleanly cutting through his chest.
This made Tobias wince in pain. But not enough to release me. In fact, it made his grip on me even tighter! “ARGGHH! That is the last time you get one over me you damn lizard!!”
He had started to raise me up while at the same time trying to pull out my sword that was still lodged through his chest. But I had a reason for extending my sword through him. With more momentum from my mana, new spikes started to form from the blade. More specifically the part that was inside his body!!
The Knight Commander realized too late that pulling it out would do him no good. The pain of the metal spikes stinging inside his body was proving too much for him as he finally let me go. With barely any energy left, I couldn’t land properly and fell on the ground on my back.
We both screamed in pain, me from falling on my back and Tobias when the spikes inside him had moved so suddenly around. I had already pushed both my mind and my body past its limits, I can’t expect myself to do it another time around. It was a miracle I could keep myself conscious through it all.
I slowly turned my head towards the Knight Commander who was trying to break my sword apart. I could already see cracks appear on it. I would have to end this now!
But there was still one last thing I needed to say to him. I tightened the grip on my sword as I gathered the smallest of mana left in me as I called out to him.
“Hey!”
Tobias looked at me, pain and fury at its peak as blood started to drip from his lips as he struggled to break my sword apart from him. He refused to respond back, the look on his face showing how he refused to acknowledge me as little more than a small monster.
Seeing as he wasn’t going to say anything to me, I just had only a few words to say to him. Words I thought I would never as someone that desires to conquer and take everything in this world as mine.
“…I don’t want you” Was all I said as the memories of seeing a fellow kobold suffer through such a brutal ritual flashed in my mind, refueling my own rage as I forced the spikes to reach it’s farthest as they extend right through his vitals. His upper body reminded me of a pin cushion for putting the needles needed for sewing as the life on the Knight Commander’s eyes burned out and his body went limp and fell to the ground.
Immediately afterwards my own body finally gave out as darkness took over my vision. The last thing I could remember was hearing the sounds of footsteps. Whether they were his soldiers or mine I couldn’t really tell….
