We stood there, looking at my new Golem henchman sitting at the middle of my kingdom inactive. We were rather taken aback that he decided to take a nap right then and there. This was the first time I really got a good look of him. The rocky exterior seemed rather gray like. He also had two eyes glowing at the head of his body; at closer look it seemed like jewels. I would have to get the chance to check out what he made from later.
I almost chuckled to myself, seeing how interesting he was before giving out my orders. “Alright you two, let’s move him out of the way. Don’t want to disrupt business here for my minions after all right? ~”
My henchmen went to work immediately, Damian looking chipper past his neutral expression while Mordred looked exhausted but showed no sign of complaining. Meanwhile V took the time to get to know Paimoth more who was all too happy to oblige. Seems no one can resist the young goblin’s charms.
“There you are!” The priestess called out while running towards me. She seemed oddly concerned. “I heard a lot of commotion after the castle was getting destroyed! I thought this kingdom was getting attacked again!”
“Oh? I didn’t know you were concern for my safety Priestess~” I mockingly replied.
She puffed her cheeks in annoyance as she explained. “I was concerned for the citizens lizard!! I don’t have to worry for you barbaric monsters!”
Despite that I noticed that she was holding her staff rather tightly.
“So, what’s going on exactly? What was that thing those two were carrying around?” Katherine asked.
She probably heard some of my citizens talk about it when they were lugging it here, but she most likely thought it better to hear it from me. “It was a Golem; he was inactive inside those cells where the previous king trapped the rest of my fellow monsters.”
“Oh” She stated, lowering her staff while looking back in the castle. “I saw more monsters leaving the kingdom earlier. Does that mean you managed to find a way to cure their minds?”
The tension felt a bit thick a moment as she anticipated my answer.
“Yeah, it was thanks to my new Daemon butler.” I answered the second question as I raised claws towards my Shadow Moth butler, who was currently distracted in entertaining V.
The silver haired Priestess stared directly at Paimoth; eyes widen in surprised before she clicked her tongue. “I....doubt that a Daemon would do such a thing. Then again, my expectations have been disproven time and again. And all because of you.”
She stared at me intensely, staff pointed right at my face. Yet I didn’t back down. I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been to be wrong about us ‘savage’ monsters.
“Veehahahahaha! Yup, all because of me. And what will you do now that you have a better grasp over me and my empire?” I taunted her, curious to see how she would respond.
She said nothing for a few seconds, her intense stare never letting down until she sighed a deep breath and lowered her staff.
“.... I’ll be returning back to deliver my report to the bishop. I heard nothing but praise for you. Despite many still showing reluctance with having monsters roaming around they all behaved themselves and some of them even made friends with some of them. Their opinions of you were high. Enjoying the improvements you made over their lives and ridding such a despicable king. They even affectionally call you their [Tiny Tyrant]”
I nearly lost my footing having to hear that annoying title. The priestess definitely noticed that and gave off a small smile before continuing. “With this I doubt the church will do anything against you for now. And you probably won’t see me again.”
“Aww you going to miss me?” I teased her only to be met with a blast of light on the ground near me.
There was a vein popping on her head “Don’t test me lizard!”

She huffed before walking off, ready to leave the kingdom and return to her fellow religious folk. I decided to at least see her off, she was my guest to my empire after all so I thought it made sense that it’s ruler should see their guest off personally.
She took a moment to admire Vash’s body laying at the border walls before continuing to walk off. V noticed her leaving and ran after all.
“You’re leaving?” They asked, looking a bit sad.
Katherine took a moment to look at the goblin before bending down and gently patting their head. “Sorry, I have to return to the church. But thank you for welcoming me.”
Yup, no one can resist V’s charms. Not even the monster hating priestess.
Once we saw her off, a carriage with colors and designs that match the priest’s outfits appeared and picked her up. She must have called them over not that long ago, probably expecting them to come today. They rode off to return to their church.
Everyone reacted differently to see the priestess off. Mordred seemed glad that she was out of here while Damian and Paimoth didn’t give much thought to it. V on the other hand still seemed sad, they probably wanted to make friends with her after all. Well, willing to bet that sooner or later we’d be seeing her.
Afterwards I got everyone together, making sure to add into a call as I discuss our next order of business. Things were finally starting to settle with my empire. Both Greyston and the Mivtic Kingdom has gained enough stability. The people of Greyston have been getting more used to my monster minions and soon enough Mivtic would as well.
I would be sure to call in Zeph’s friend Alex for help. I’ve been hearing he has been stepping up in helping keep order around the kingdom what with the soldiers still scrambling with their missing chain of command. Hmm, it might not be a bad idea to have Alex take the Knight Commander spot.
Sure, at first glance he would have trouble in trying to lead the other soldiers in the kingdom. I can already imagine some of them voicing their complaints now, but Damian had informed me that Alex had joined with the other soldiers in my black bear’s training and has shown surprising potential.
Worse comes to worse we could always promote a different soldier to the role if they showed enough potential. Not like I was going to put any of my henchmen to such a role.
When I brought up my idea to Zeph he started to laugh through the mental call. Probably the loudest I heard him speak now that I think about it.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA yeah you should totally do it boss! I’m sure Alex would love the idea!!”
Onto other matters, I still needed some time to finish my personal castle though it shouldn’t be too long.
No, now is the time I continued my empire’s expansion.
“Veehahahahaha, I’ve waited long enough. About time my goal of world conquest starts a new! ~”
Mordred pumped his fists in the air with enough force to cause some wind as he mentally cheered. “ABOUT TIME! I’ve been itching to spread your influence further out boss!!”
V jumped for joy like as if they were going to play a new game. “Yay, conquest conquest!!”
“Ah, so this is what you were talking about Master Vladimir. My, such high ambitions you have. Then I shall endeavor to help you achieve this goal as is my duty as your butler.” Paimoth bowed, his wings fluttering ever slightly in excitement.
“I’m all game bossman, this will be quite entertaining. Guess I can hang around a bit longer to see how this goes. ~” My sneaky vulture mentally replied, not hiding his amusement.
Damian didn’t say anything from either way of communication, he merely walked towards me and casually picked me up. I was bracing for a squeeze but instead felt myself being swung left and right. I just have to take that as his answer then.
I didn’t hear a response from my new golem henchman, instead getting a few flickers from his eyes.
Then all of us were in an agreement. Since my human minions are still adjusting to the changes, I figure it would be best to have us monsters focus on this endeavor for now. I’ll count on them to focus on maintaining my lands when I’m not there to watch over them.
Though they could use a little extra muscle and I did need to figure out what to have Vash do so this would be perfect for the Golem.
I walked over to the sleeping Golem and informed him of his task, and he woke up for a moment to acknowledge it before returning to sleep at the border walls.
I then gave out my mental orders. “Now first order of business to the return of world conquest. I’ll need to gather some information of my neighbors as well as to gather my monster minions for this endeavor. ~”
“On it bossman. I do have some experience in traveling around so I do have an inkling on several kingdoms that are ripe for picking. Probably be good to find out what they think about the monster ruler considering our church encounter. ~” Zeph explained, seems he decided to take on the scout role. “I should mention I’ll be taking the three kobolds with me. They’re starting to grow on me. ~”
That will take care of information gathering, next up would be to gather the troops and assemble supplies for the trip. I’ll also need to make sure their gears are up to date. I still need to find out how the Mivtic Kingdom precured [Mithril]. According to the citizens it was a trade secret that only the old king and knight commander knew about.
I clicked my tongue, of course the greedy pig would want to hoard that info to himself. No matter, I’m sure we’ll find out in the future.
Instead, it’s better I focus on what I could do now. I cracked my knuckles as prepared my Mana with a big grin in my face.
“Guess it’s time I take a more serious take on my crafting skills! ~”
