  **Chapter 24–47: The Long Night (Condensed Recap)**

  January 3rd, 2026 – 8:47 p.m. – Dorm Block (Sky’s POV)

  Sky sat on the edge of his bunk — back against the wall, knees pulled up, arms resting on them. The room was dark except for the faint blue glow leaking from the cracked screen on the opposite wall. The others were scattered: Frosty curled on her side next to him, breathing slow but uneven; Max slumped in the corner, shadows barely moving around his feet like they were too tired to play; Hiro hugging her knees on the floor, golden mend glow flickering weak around her hands; Mira’s crow perched silent on the windowsill; Aoi in the far corner, spatial cracks dim; Kira standing by the door like she was guarding it from ghosts.

  No one had said much since Sky walked back from killing Josh. Just quiet breathing, the occasional sniff, the low hum of the dome barriers outside. Sky stared at his hands — still stained with Josh’s blood, soul gun wounds closed but aching like they remembered being torn open. The necklace Mara gave him rested against his chest, cracked moon catching the blue light.

  His mind wouldn’t stop.

  He closed his eyes — and the memories came anyway. Not soft ones. Not the good flashbacks. The long night. The stretch from Chapter 24 to 47 — the part that felt like it lasted years even though it was only weeks. He let it play out, slow and heavy, like he was watching someone else’s life.

  It started with Jane — in Sky’s body — fighting Ray in the ruined courtyard after the big clan clash.

  Jane laughed — low, rolling — and unleashed **Dismantle: Crisp**. Fifteen invisible cuts ripped across Ray’s body — chest, arms, legs — blood spraying in perfect lines. Ray staggered — regenerated almost instantly — arm growing back, holes closing — and hit back with rift energy that cracked the ground open. Side deaths happened fast: Diego crushed under falling debris, Lena burned by stray crimson, Isabella shredded by Dismantle echoes. No one mourned out loud. There wasn’t time.

  Jane prepared the fireball — massive, crimson, swirling like a dying star. The chapter ended with the tension of it hanging in the air.

  Next came **Hero**. Jane dropped the fireball — it detonated like a sun exploding, wiping out a survivor cluster in white-hot light. Mara stepped in front — Mist Sword raised — blocked the blast with a wall of gray vapor. The impact shook the whole academy ruins. Mara looked at Jane — Reaper planted, void eye glowing. “Let’s dance, hunter.”

  **Limits** — John slashed Kira’s stomach. Blood poured. Sky pushed corruption energy into her wound — healed her — but it knocked him out cold. Black veins crawled up his arms for the first time. He woke up later to the group staring at him like he was already half gone.

  **Sealed Fates** — Villains planned to seal Sky and Mara. Frosty and Kira snapped — wiped the entire Crimson Frost Clan. Two hundred dead in minutes. Nami and Kenny fell last — Hot-Cold Fusion ending them in frost and vein blades.

  **Hot and Cold** — Frosty and Kira vs Kenny. Final stand. Kenny died screaming. Clan was gone.

  **Powers Awakened** — Basement. Het’s backstory — trapped in a rift pocket, Rift Echo born from desperation. Everyone got their full buffs: Hiro Life Link, Frosty Hot-Cold Fusion, Max Infinity Veil. Felt like hope for a second.

  **SS Shadow** — Sky checked rankings. SS. Almost SS+. Highest in the group. Quiet moment of pride that felt wrong.

  **Dawn on the 26th** — Sky walked to the beach at 5 a.m. Ghosts rose around him — dead friends, dead strangers. Jane whispered: “On the 24th we part ways.” Sky showered, sat on the balcony. Max and Cam woke up — talked about future kids and wives like the world wasn’t ending. Sky did planks until he cried — thinking about everyone he’d watched die.

  **Midnight Transfer** — December 24th, midnight. Jane took full control — ripped the core from Sky’s chest. Sky kicked into a billboard — bleeding out. Group split: some fought demons, Sky and Ren to the shop vs John, Jefferson/Jane, Lana, Zinger.

  **Midnight Transfer – Part 2** — Jane left for subway. Shop fight: Sky vs John (card realm), Cam/Max vs Lana, Hiro/Jessica vs Zinger. Outside: Frosty/Kira/Jackson cleared demons. They headed to subway.

  **Twisted Knife** — Sky vs John in card realm — Sky won, twisted knife in heart, stomped it. Ren vs Jane — Jane burned Ren alive, Ren exploded. Sky cried “what the hell is wrong with you.” Jane left — “cya New Year’s.” Frosty beheaded Lana. Sky/Mara walked back — Mara said “not anymore” to Sky dying.

  **Blood on the Mirror** — Sky showered blood off, sat in dark. Thought villains might be right — mom, Joe, Joy, Jefferson pushed him to keep going. Wrote “kill Ray & Jane” on the mirror. Vowed quietly. Ranks updated — Sky SS+, Frosty SS, Kira/Cam S+.

  **Last Rules** — Training with Joy — realm rules (one-time lock), last-fight talk. Cam/Frosty cargo mission, Sky/Max vs The King.

  **The King’s Game** — Sky/Max vs The King — Max Maximum Shade. King realm: 90% slow movement + 10,000% will amp. King stabbed Sky in heart, twisted. Threw Max through window.

  **The Eater Awakens** — Max unsealed Eater — 20-ft giant. Eater ate The King alive. Max apologized to Sky — barely alive.

  **Empty Bench** — Max limped back — sat on bench — thought Sky was dead. Frosty asked. Max lied — “hunting Eater.” Frosty: “Glad I thought he was dead… sounds like him.” Sky’s body in school — finger twitched.

  **Countdown** — Dec 29th — Eater in Tokyo. Group gathered 11:40 p.m. Joy speech. 11:56 p.m. — positions set.

  **The 13** — Dec 30th, 11:19 p.m. — Warehouse district. Thirteen villains under floodlight: Ray, Jane (true form), Leo, Jaylee, Reiji, Jason, Lana, Yuka + Vex/Sable/Kael/Nyx. Ray said plan worked. Felt two auras. Mara and Sky appeared — both healthy. Chapter ended on standoff.

  That was the long night. The stretch from Jane’s fireball to the warehouse. The part that broke them all a little more.

  Sky opened his eyes.

  The dorm was still dark.

  Frosty’s hand was still in his.

  He squeezed it once.

  And whispered — so quiet only she heard.

  “I miss them.”

  Frosty squeezed back.

  “Me too.”

  The chapter ended.
