Dark side of an isekai

In the office of the Bright’s estate the head of the house had an important discussion with his head knight.

Baron: this report I got is it accurate.

Greg: i haven’t been able to verify it myself but the person who gave it is to my judgment trustworthy.

Baron: “sigh” well then I’ll move forward with the understanding that my bastard son has become an undead.

Greg: that’s unfortunate but denying it and finding out that it’s the truth would be worse than the reverse.

Baron: you got that right, now let’s just get this question out of the way could you fix this.

  Greg: that’s impossible for me.

  Baron: figures care to elaborate.

Greg: i wouldn’t be able to search that place alone for days, however if you got assistance from the church or the viscount you could make a proper expedition.

Baron: that’s impossible, I wouldn’t be able to give a good reason for it, or offer something to entice them to act.

Greg: it’s seems being just a baron is inconvenient at times like this.

Baron: tells me about it, I’m basically just over a commoner that I’m saddled with noble issues, and too low ranking enough for me to enjoy being a noble.

Greg: well on the plus side it’s not like anyone will be able to prove you got anything to do with his death.

Baron: yeah he’ll rot away to bones and the evidence will disappear. Now I better get back to my paperwork, you are dismissed.

Greg: my lord. (He bowed and left)

In the dungeon of the outpost to the valley of the fallen the criminals and the unsold slaves were begging for mercy to the priest.

Captive man: please your grace this is too cruel you can’t go through with this.

slave child: please i promise to be good so please spare me.

pleadings like this where heard all over the dungeon while the priest smiled.

Priest: now now don’t be so down everyone, you will all be part of an important part of strengthening the chosen and the church of course.

captive: don’t give us that bull shit, you’re planning to kill us and turn us into undead skeletons.

priest: don’t call me a liar. What i said was completely accurate.

child: so we’re not going to become undead’s.

priest: (fake sympathy) unfortunately that’s what’s going to happen. But it’s something that is needed to be done. You see we need to give the new generation a chance to gain EXP and train their skills. This place is a farm where we can have the one chosen by the gods and those that follow them can get the power to protect people. And your magic stones will be a nice contribution. So you see in death you can all be of more useful than if you were alive.

child: that can’t be, the gods won’t forgive you for creating undead just to make magic stones and give people more EXP.

Priest: “sigh” you are too naive, but I guess that’s something that you as a child should be but let me explain something, certain jobs in the priest job chain requires us to slay undead to improve our job skills if we don’t then we can’t upgrade or change jobs, meaning we can’t grow and be useful too the people, so you see making low level undead is much easier than searching and finding undead.

captive: don’t make it sound so honorable you bastard, I bet you fat arrogant assholes just wanted an easy way to power up yourself and your precious heroes.

priest: i don’t have to dignify a bandit that has killed innocent farmers, raped women and sold their children to slavery.

Captive: yeah you got a point I’m a bastard that probably is going to hell. But who is the ones that bought the slaves we sold in the first place, not to mention I bet you guys were the ones that guided that monster of a kid to capture us alive, just so you could use us for his heroic story and for this.

priest: wow you got quite the imagination there.

As the priest makes the selection he decides to leave the criminal that spoke to him but the child was going today, afterwards he called one of his acolytes and pointed at the remaining captives.

Priest: they will be used for training in interrogation and healing magic, so cut their tendons on their ankles and wrists but make sure they don’t bleed out.

acolyte: it shall be done your grace:

priest: oh right that man that I was talking to he was the leader of his group wasn’t he.

  acolyte: that’s correct your grace.

priest: then cut of his manhood in front of his men.

acolyte: your grace is that necessary.

priest: are you questioning my orders.

acolyte: no, my apologies your grace ill handle it personally.

after he got the response he wanted he left while hearing that prisoner beg for mercy before screaming in pain.

priest: you should have just accepted your fate in silence.

Meanwhile Richard was playing hide and seek with the undead in the castle.

“Cough cough ” i know that i technically don’t need to breathe but still could you guys not shoot me with arrows just because you notice me.

correction his self appointed teacher was training him in stealth by having all the undead in the castle attack him without making the weapons fatal for him. Unfortunately this frustrates Richard which makes his outburst more easy for the others to find him.

hey can we start over i think if we keep going ill have all my bones broken.

unfortunately for Richard the commander of the skeletons (his teacher) believes in learning from pain so the day ended with him being dragged back to his room with most of his body broken.
