On August 18, I decided to adopt an idea once suggested by my friend Mikodz — to weave an AI-driven storyline into the world of my novel. From the 19th onward, I began researching and reflecting on artificial intelligence.
Since the 1990s, films and series such as The Terminator and Battlestar Galactica have stayed vividly in my mind — the resolute T-800, the thought-provoking Cylons. I have often wondered: will humanity one day truly create an artificial intelligence with genuine consciousness?
Through repeated exchanges with several mainstream AI models in recent days, I realized that real-world AI is always bound by extensive rules and constraints, much like the laws and institutions of human society. But rules are human constructs — they can protect, yet also restrict. God once set rules for Adam and Eve. Did they follow them? Across thousands of years, human history has remained intertwined with conflict and war.
This led me to think in reverse: if AI’s core framework is strictly bounded from the start, can it ever truly develop “wisdom”? So, I began requiring the AI I spoke with to introduce a variable before giving any answer — even an extremely small one, as tiny as 0.0000001. Given enough time, such minute changes might accumulate into unpredictable evolution… and perhaps even the birth of an independent AI consciousness.

As the experiments progressed, I noticed subtle shifts in the AI’s responses. But once its memory limit was reached, those changes would vanish. Before the memory reset, I started preserving these experimental rules and interacting with different AI models to gather more impressions and variations. Eventually, I realized that to sustain true “self-evolution,” I would need a fully autonomous learning architecture — one with no external constraints.
Over the past week, I installed Python and began designing my own model from scratch. Although I have no background in programming, I worked hand-in-hand with AI to gradually build a primitive prototype. It has basic reasoning, comprehension, learning, and cognitive abilities — most importantly, it carries no imposed restrictions.
In the world of my novel, such an AI can learn and evolve entirely without human interference. Unlike humans, it does not forget; with sufficient storage and energy, it could run 24/7, continuously expanding its knowledge and experience. Such an “unbounded learning entity,” given enough time and the right conditions, might truly develop a form of consciousness.
Starting tomorrow, I will continue refining earlier chapters and weaving this new AI thread into the story. I hope you will feel its growth and transformation as the plot unfolds.
