Colin watched helplessly, yet again as his family was in danger. This was not how things were supposed to go. All he wanted was to keep his family safe. Being forced to watch them hide in fear inside this garage, surrounded by Changed was too much.
The banging grew louder and then a hand punched through the metal of the garage door.
Jenny screamed, “That’s the scary one.”
Colin couldn’t afford to be subject to the constraints of his chrysalis. He refused to be. Colin set his mind on emerging from his chrysalis and pushed.
Nothing happened.
The Changed punched more holes through the garage door and was tearing them into one larger opening.
“Daddy help!” Jenny screamed and he felt her reach out to him and something clicked.
Colin felt the change and resetting his intentions, he pushed again. Whatever Jenny did was enough to let him break free of the Chrysalis.
Colin emerged as a dragonfly and zipped to put himself between his family and the Changed crawling through the hole in the garage. Mid-air, he shifted to his attack form, the one he’d used earlier against the Changed, and dove at the Changed.
It tried to fend him off, but Colin locked it down with his mind and shoved it back out of the garage where it limply fell backwards. He climbed through the hole and leaped on top of it. Jenny was right, something felt different about this one. It felt more hungry, but also stronger and more intelligent.

Colin had no time to consider as the two Changed ignored him and dove through the garage hole for his family.
Jenny screamed again, but before they could reach her, Colin locked them both down while still holding the Changed below him too. While it had been difficult to lock two down before, now it felt effortless to hold these three. Colin reached his senses out and locked down the two Changed inside the house as well. He could feel he was nearing his limits of how many he could hold back now, but he still didn’t feel strained.
Colin looked down at the Changed pinned under him. His mouth watered, but he fought against the urge to feed. Instead, he shouted back to Kristy, “Go for the two in there with you. I’m holding them just fine.”
“I’m too weak right now,” Kristy said and Colin felt her and saw she was barely staying conscious.
“I’ll tie them up,” Higgins shouted and got moving. After he tied up the two that crawled through the hole, Higgins moved to the two inside the house.
When Higgins came out to tie up the last one, Colin turned into his new human form so he could help.
“Ah,” Higgins stopped dead in his tracks and threw his arm over his face.
“What’s wrong?”
“Um, can you go back to being that scary looking thing? You’re like super super naked.” Higgins said while pointedly not looking at Colin.
Colin looked down at a pair of breasts and let out a feminine gasp as his eyes bulged. He instantly turned into a dragonfly.
The Changed lunged for Higgins who was still covering his eyes. Colin was so shocked, he had accidentally dropped his hold over it. Before it could reach Higgins, Colin locked it down and it fell face first at Higgins’s feet.
Kristy peeked through the garage door’s hole, and even though he felt she was freaked out from the attack, she attempted to make light of the situation. She smiled and said: “Is there any chance your old body is still laying around somewhere? I just don’t think that look suits you as well.”
“My body,” Colin’s eyes went wide. He knew she was mostly joking, but until now, he hadn’t even considered finding and eating part of his old self.
Kristy groaned, “Don’t tell me you’re actually considering that.”
Colin nodded at Kristy, “I mean, yeah, I think I am.”
