“Good afternoon, Katarina!”
With the biggest smile on her face, she greets Katarina who of course, not only is immediately taken back by this gorgeous smile, her mood is also immediately brightened up, making her unconsciously smile back at our lovely and cheerful Kiana.
Katarina- Hello there Miss Kiana! How are you today? You sure have a bright smile on your face. What brings you here today? Ready to take on a quest? I’ve got a few ready to be completed.
Kiana- Ah, not today, I actually want to have a go at the dungeon. Any tips you can give me?
Ah, it seems I was wrong, she wants to explore the dungeon for the first time rather than to make some money... Though the moment she said that she wanted to tackle the dungeon you can see Katarina's face turn from a happy one from seeing our Kiana and understandable so after all, Kiana is a petite angel walking on earth so of course anyone with a functional brain would be happy-Ahem! What’s wrong with me? Anyway, Katarina's face quickly turns into worry as her ears hear what Kiana said and once her brain fully processes the implications of such.
Katarina- You want to tackle the dungeon? I wouldn’t recommend it by yourself, that's the first tip I would give you. Secondly, I would not bother with it as the rewards won’t be near as good as a normal quest. But I see you still want to go either way... Bring with you a magic scroll with teleport magic on it then. From the reports we have there aren't any checkpoints in the dungeon so be careful about it. Things can escalate rather quickly but you know that already, right?
“After all, you have the strength and experience of an A rank.”
Kiana- Yes! I’ve done my fair share of exploration and even completed some dungeons but, I will do what you said, thank you. However, if I find something shiny in the dungeon can I keep it? Or better yet, can I even sell it?
Katarina- Shinny? Pfft! Yes, you can do whatever you want with it and yes, you can sell it here.
Almost letting out a laugh, she holds it with everything she has as she sees Kiana face when she says “shinny”, to be honest even I would have to turn my face backwards to contain any laughter only to fail to do so. I have the tendency to say that Kiana is cute, but I mean it every single time and of course this is no exception. Her golden eyes shone brightly as she said that simple world, you could even see a star shape on said shine as the thought of making money consumes her mind, her silklike lips extend to the side and upwards as they form a smile not only that, she brings both her hands up to chest level, they are closed and at the same time she leans a little bit forward, making her seem just like a child, one that is way too excited for what’s about to come. After seeing this, how could you not laugh?
“Noice! I will be going then, see you later!”
With this, Kiana bids her goodbyes to Katarina, who does the same and wishes her good luck for her journey in the dungeon. It’s early in the afternoon, just shy past 14 pm but the streets sure are busy. Several people are in the streets walking, the majority of them with work attire, it more than seems that they are going back to work since it’s time for such, although they might be late. While this is no inconvenience for her, she does take a few minutes longer than needed thanks to it, she simply is mesmerised to see this many people as the previous time she went to the forest, the city was not packed with many people. It’s normal though as the citizens here have the tendency to spend their weekends in the entertainment area, in the complete opposite side of the city. After a whole hour of walking and somewhat see sighting, Kiana is at the entrance of the forest. From there, in less than 5 minutes she’s able to find the dungeon entrance.
“Now, how do I access this… After all, she didn’t say anything about a seal.”
Well, that definitely is a problem I would say, but now I’m wondering, how much info about the dungeon that Katarina gave to Kiana will be correct? She didn’t even enter the dungeon and she already is seeing, sensing in this case, something that Katarina should’ve told her. Maybe she actually does not know about the seal… Oh well, before anything else, a quick observation of her surroundings. Kiana is in the forest of course but in the outer circle, she did walk for roughly 5 minutes, nowhere near enough time to get deeper into the forest, actually, from the entrance of the forest, go left for 3 or so minutes then venture yourself into the magical forest for another 2 minutes or so and you will headbutt the dungeon entrance and its seal. Not hard at all and somewhat in sight even.

The dungeon entrance has a colossal door to it, one that seems to be made of concrete, with rather fantasy-like carvings on it and of course, said seal right in front of it. This door seems to be close to 6 meters tall and another 4 or so meters wide. A group of adventurers can easily fit through here but, that’s not here or there. This colossal door seems to be “stuck” into a small hill, one that to be honest, feels really out of place but thanks to all the vegetation that has grown over the years, it can somewhat blend with the forest. However, the most fascinating thing about this small phenomenon is a tree that decided to grow right at the end of the colossal door, right between where the door ends and the “hill” starts. It’s a normal cherry blossom tree, one that first grows forward towards its imminent fall only for the trunk to then do 90 degrees turn upwards and flourishing from there. Huh, the roots of that tree sure are strong, while the tree is not that big, the only thing that is “holding” it are the roots, although the reason for this might be simpler.
Everything that is connected to the dungeon has magic on it, add the forest magic to them and what you have is these chaotic phenomena. I would not be surprised if at the top of the hill more of these events are happening, but since Kiana wants to explore the dungeon there is no point in going any further with this. Just my usual yapping, oh well, moving on.
“Hmm, I can easily destroy the seal but, if it’s here in the first place then, there is a reason for it, no?”
Good thinking, but it’s not uncommon for dungeons to have seals at the beginning. This alone stops weaker adventurers from tackling dungeons that are far too much for them and of course, it stops the wild life, monsters, life in general from the outside to enter said dungeon, although the opposite can be said. Destroying the seal itself won’t damage the dungeon or anything like that, but even with this fact in mind she’s unsure on what to do. Should she break it or should she deactivate it instead?
“Let’s see what else I can find here.”
She has made her decision then, right after saying this she gets closer to the entrance and extends her right hand towards the colossal door, once she is close enough, she gently touches the door with the palm of her silklike pale hand. I see what she’s trying to do, by touching the door and then by using the correct skills, Magic Sense and Elemental Sense, she’s trying to decipher the type of seal the door has. While Magic Sense is understandable, what about Elemental Sense? The answer is quite simple, with Elemental Sense you can of course sense the elements present on magic, this will also apply to a seal as for example, a seal that has a trap on it, one that once broken it explodes. Said seal will have an element present on it, a Pyro spell in this case, Fire Bomb to be even more precise. If it has no element present on it, from this alone it is safe to assume that there is no “trap” on the seal itself.
Just as I was talking about the seal, Kiana slowly removes her hand from touching the door, it seems that she has figured it out as she does have quite the smirk on her face. I do have to give her my props after all, she did figure it out in less than 10 seconds. Anyway, she backs off a step or so after figuring it out and from there, she looks upwards, towards the end of the entrance, right between the hill and the entrance to be precise. At first sight you won’t see anything out of the ordinary and it will keep that way as long as you see it from the naked eye, the moment you use Magic Sense for example, you will instantly “find” the culprit for the seal. It’s nothing more than a white magic circle, a small one at that with around 15 centimetres of diameter. I think you can guess that, if this seal had that trap on it that I mentioned previously, the magic circle would be red. Seriously, Kiana is an expert, she didn’t get A rank just because she’s the pinnacle of beauty.
“There you are! Although, is this some type of test from the dungeon itself? From what I’ve gathered, the magic circle seems to have been created by the dungeon. But why would it do such a thing? Only those with Magic Sense skill would be able to detect it but to make it even more confusing, the seal itself is rather weak…”
I can understand her confusion, just to have an idea of how weak the seal really is, a mere D rank adventurer with enough effort, he could break the seal by force without much worry, whatever by physical means or magical means. Since she said that the dungeon has created this seal, it can actually mean a few things, one of them is a foreshadow of how the dungeon will work. What I mean is that, there will be “things” hidden by the naked eye throughout the dungeon, this can mean for example, chests, special floors and so on. While missing a chest is annoying and frustrating, missing an enemy because you can’t see it, is the worst thing that can happen to an adventurer and anyone really. Welp, while both of us were thinking about this, this small fact seems to have put her mood even beyond good as her golden eyes are now somewhat sharp ready to tackle whatever challenges will come. Oh, silly Kiana, but moving on. She raises her tender left hand towards the magic circle, then points at it with her slender but somewhat crooked index finger; however, her thumb is fully pointing up and the rest of her fingers closed, gently grasping her hand. She also tilts her head sideways to the right just a little bit and for last, she closes her right eye.
Way too dramatic but she sure looks cute as hell and as you can guess it, a smile also appears on her face.
