Tactical Missile: Kien

Anastasia scurried into my workshop, taking a moment to take in her ogre puppets.

"Pretty impressive am I right?" Anastasia asked phishing for a compliment.

"Yes Anastasia their great, what abilities do they have?" I asked her although I was preoccupied looking at my own handiwork.

"I manged to make them roughly twice as strong as a regular Ogre although there where some problems so its not exact but still great, in order to pull it off I had to route a regeneration totem from their hea—" Anastasia kept on talking but I was still a bit disoriented from my 'dream' last night.

Eventually she rapped up, and as I still needed some time to think about it and honestly it probably wouldn't come up until I was out of the tutorial.

"Okay anything change while I was asleep?" I asked her.

"Not really... Oh, wait there was something a skirmish between the Yeti and the Ogres, it ended in a stalemate and both armies pulled away." Anastasia reported and I supposed that if they didn't know of us right now that their life long enemies made more sense than us.

"Okay, well I don't want to fight the victor of a full blown war" I replied as I began to strap In on the pieces of my armor. It was a somewhat methodical process, carefully pulling and adjusting the leather straps before putting them in place. Finally suited on I put on my cloak the shimmering undercoat flowing under me. I smiled, a part of me that was still a elementary schooler from Kentucky was still thrilled as I now walked around decked in Knight's armor.

Grabbing my shield I secured its forearm handle, and grabbing my claymore. It's sharp blade would work best against the unarmored Ogres. Walking through the now pristine halls of the ruins I came out to a Courtyard. Arrayed neatly in rows, the front lines where made of the Elites each one wearing helmets and armor and in their grip my gladi.

We where ready for war, it was simple fact, with Anastasia tucked into her pocket in my jacket me and Anastasia's army marched out for war.

Leaving the ruins we entered the fields of night. Being careful to not get to close to either the Yeti or Ogre settlements that slightly flanked each other as we essentially marched In no man's land. Luckily this time I had someone to talk to during this walk.

I gladly let Anastasia babble on about magic leylines and runic constructs and she let me do the same but about random historical facts I would randomly remember while I talked about pieces I would like to forge. Marked by a lava pond we had reached the 'chink' between both halves of the Ogre territory. My first job would to be make a temporary fortification good enough to defend but not so good that if we lost it that it would help our enemies.

First I started off with a large strong wall along the length of the territory. Then I created a slope on both sides. The idea was that they would climb up the slope and be on the back foot.

Soon the sloped fortification was complete and the puppets formed up they formed a long rectangular formation so that way the Commanders copied ability could boost the defensive power of the army. Now it was my time to depart, Anastasia would stay here Incase she needed to fight an elite and if they proved to great then I would pull back. This time I dipped into the earth and torpedoed through it, turning the rock around me in a slurry that I moved through like an eel through water.

I quickly approved the area where it should be easy. Appearing through the earth I heard a bark of surprise as I looked at the giant ogre we stared at each other, pulling out my sword from my ring I levied it at my opponent.

  Larnick P.O.V

  ...

Larnick was a simple scout that was deployed by the Ogre Chieftain to check on the settlements to see if the deserted township had been some new Yeti tactic, a monster, or treason. I had seen something moving in the dark-desert, something that Larnick had dismissed. Secondly a giant structure had appeared and had some sort of strange light colored warriors some looked quite scary so Larnick stayed away. Thirdly now though a strange silver creature wearing a cloak appeared in front of the settlement that Larnick had been watching.

With batted breath Larnick watch in sick horror as the sliver warrior with two strikes slayed the guard. Larnick knew that the Guard was probably on the weaker end of Ogre warriors but still it terrified him nonetheless.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

The warriors continued to destroy the settlement, he had simply walked through the palisades and soon enough Larnick watched as smoke and screams of agony came from the settlement, until it stopped.

It was only until Larnick saw smoke signals coming from the next closest settlement that He dared approached the ruins of the one that had fallen. Entering through the intact front gate the sight that Larnick came across was eerie, besides the guard at the gate their were no bodies. However their were still the markes of battle long gashes ran along the settlement the center of the settlement was thankfully left intact.

Larnick searched for something, moving the tipped over tents Larnick searched and then he came across it, a Shamans talisman, something that would prove that the settlement had been destroyed.

With due haste Larnick departed cradling the talisman as he sprinted towards the Night-desert. He must bring the talisman to the Chief. They had unknowingly angered something they shouldn't have.

  ...

The Settlements of the Ogres had been barely a challenge, hell I had left the first Guard I came across because of how easy he fell. Maybe I was just desensitized from how many near death battles I got in.

Nearing the third settlement I came across, it was the outlined 'regional capital' of the lower region of the Ogre Territory. It had few thousand Ogres living in its confines. The Oasis was more like a small wild meadow now that I got closer I saw it for myself properly for the first time.

Whereas the other cities had rock palisades this one had a proper walls though it had been very poorly maintained. The Ogres stood guard over a busted Portcullis. Majority of the homes where the large canvas and hide tents that the Ogres preferred however it seems like the center of the settlement had somewhat intact houses that were lived in.

The most interesting building was the one smack dab in the center of the meadow. Grown from a particularly large tree it had a great canopy of midnight black leaves and glowing bundles of fruit. I would be willing to bet twenty bucks that a magically inclined senior citizen lived in there.

Thinking about it I decided that Aura farming would be an appropriate military tactic. It would harm enemy moral yes, that was it. Moving towards the city I created two large earthen serpents to trail behind me. Magically inefficient yes, was it combat effective not really, it worked great against rodents though. However what they where great at where freaking people out.

The Guards soon saw and he rose the alarm apparently this place was on alert looking back I saw a far off smoke trail. Dam, an unattended cooking fire probably caught a few tents alight. As I walked closer to the walls I saw a commotion amgost the warriors stationed on the walls.

Then I saw an old hunched over Ogre still hunched over an Ogre was taller then most humans including me.

"Slivered One, why have you come to our home? Are you the one that has caused the Spirit-light to burn in the other settlements?" A voice boomed out, its voice raspy and he coughed at the end.

"Yes, I did and I have brought Damnation to your front door, brought to you by me Kien Noble" I said tapping into my inner cartoon villain as I bowed mockingly.

"Then you've come to die, Guurs take care of him would you—"I cut him off as One of my serpents struck at the aforementioned Guurs, his blood splattered on the old Ogre who seems unfazed or at first he did.

"Have the Giants finally left their Lava Dominion? Why are you so short for a Giant" the Ogre spoke slowly like he was processing he spoke it.

"Heh, I'm not a Giant, I'm something much more damming than that, I am Kien Daemon of Protection and The Depths, and you selected for destruction!" I said springing up and spreading my hands. I was pretty such Dothrinoxtin was watching so I might as well give him something to watch.

"Pah, you are not Divine just a runt Giant that with a complex" The Ogre regained his fire as he rebuked me.

"Sure buddy" I replied as I neared I rose a platform under foot at the same time I puppets the two serpents to acting like an eastern dragon as the circled In the air.

The Shaman began to slam his cane in a rhythm.

  Oh a hail a dead hog's tune

A fool a rose, a fool to bury

With club arose I'll slay'em with a single rune

I'll send em on the dead man's merry ferry

The tune repeated repeated by the Ogre warriors their arms and feet slammed into tune. It was a strange way to start a fight, however as the song continued a figure took to shape from the air.

The shape came into the shape of an exaggerated Ogre Warrior. Twenty feet tall, a protruding snout and large tusks. Rippling muscle and a club at hand.

Pulling out my blade I roared above the chant of the Ogres.

"I AM AM KIEN AND YOUR CITY WILL FALL AND IT SHALL KNOW THE CHOKE OF THE ASH OF YOUR CORPSES! [PSEUDO-DOMAIN OF GEOMANCY: ROVING TIDES]"

The battering of an earthen seas against the walls of the settlement. The chant was halted as my puppets snakes slammed into the Garrison. The Spectral Warrior tried to fight them however as my sword nearly cut him half he turned back to me and this time more chanting roared from the settlement. The spectral warrior grew brighter, holding back I watched as the massive ogre tried to crush me as I battled them however it fell short of fighting me. I tried to have my Serpents battle the shaman however as I had to manually control them it was hard triple tasking, fighting the Warrior and puppeting two serpents. However, my domain soon stretched to a large chunk of the Ogres significantly weakening the Warrior.

No longer amused by the song empowered warrior I cleaved the specter in half. The Formation was rather crude, a more sophisticated version could have probably survived until its source was destroyed. Dismay filled the ranks however as I looked for the shaman I didn't see him. Figuring he had legged it as soon as his summon fell. I crashed into the ranks of the Ogres, my domain pulled them strangling and crushing those that got up in its wrath. I activated my shields legacy ability [The Swift Foot] and my speed rapidly increased as I could easily weave around the wild attacks and swings of the Ogres.

The Regional Capital soon fell, I moved on quickly sweeping up the dead and sending them to the designated load off point where Anastasia's worker puppets lugged them to the ruins for dismantling and storage.

I desperately wanted to check the tree house of the shaman however I had to check on the last settlement before I could do so.
