The next few hours blurred together with examinations, interrogations, and all sorts of yelling. Vegis and Mitra only had a small medical examination while the child was tested in everything they had that didn’t cause harm. The reason for this is that when the child was unconscious, a barrier was formed around it and nothing could touch it without being heavily damaged. It wasn’t until midnight that all the tests were done and the 3 of them could relax. They had to sleep in a surveillance cell in case something happened and when Vegis woke up before the other 2, he walked out and saw Drake sitting on the bench across from the room.
“Why isn’t Doel here?”(Vegis) “Doel had to return to the southern station. He has been away from there for too long.”(Drake) “Okay, why are you here right now?”(Vegis) “Doel gave me the book to check on how well you guys are and if any more pages appeared due to the Forest Blooded. We really need to name it since saying its title every time is annoying.”(Drake)Vegis nodded at this and replied with, “Yeahhhh. I really want to stop calling it child." The 2 of them didn’t talk for a while until Vegis asked Drake a question. “How do the Magi work? Like I know that don’t have sexes like Humans or Drakkins but that is all I know.”
Drake paused for a moment and thought about whether or not to explain it. After some contemplation, he finally answered. “Okay, long story short, Magi are what Human media would call plant people basically. Their physical form is capable of changing depending on what they do and personal preference. They don’t show this too much when communicating with humans to not frightening you guys and it kinda became a habit they formed. Actually, the first recorded wars the Drakkin and Magi had against each other was due to my people being disturbed by the shifting forms they have. If you want anything in depth, you will have to talk to Doel themself since I wasn’t the most studious when it comes to the sciences. Why are you asking about this anyways?”

Vegis stayed silent and just got up and walked away. Drake didn’t move for a while but by the time Vegis returned, he was no longer on the bench. Vegis had grabbed some food from the vending machines near the bathrooms and returned to eat them on the bench. After he was done eating, he tossed the trash away and just sat there. An hour passed by and then the door to the cell opened up and Mitra walked out slowly. She went to the bathroom and washed up. Vegis fell asleep on the bench sitting up and on his lap was the child who was also asleep. Mitra picked the 2 of them up and put them back into the room and just sat down.
Vegis woke up again and it was just noon. Clinging to his arm was the child and on a chair by the door was Mitra. Vegis tried to get up but the child held on to his arm. He shook it but it wouldn’t let go. After trying to remove it from his arm, Vegis gave up and just got up from the bed and sat near Mitra. Mitra was just watching a video about how to use a knife properly. The 2 of them just relaxed near each other and continued to watch videos. The kid woke up eventually but just swapped spots from Vegis’s arm to Mitra’s lap. This continued for an hour before the door opened and Drake walked in. Vegis spoke up first. “Hi Drake, are we moving to our proper rooms now?” Drake nodded at this and said, “Your stuff is already in the room now. And I see that it is very attached to you 2.” Vegis shrugged his shoulders and stood up to get going. Mitra got up after him and the kid followed them. It took them 20 minutes to return to the surface and get near the south east dorm. Each floor held 4 rooms which each held enough space for an entire extended family.
Drake led them up to the 4th floor and to the room facing towards the center of the lab. Inside was a fully furnished home like apartment. The 3 of them walked in as Drake started to walk away. Vegis looked around, seeing a kitchen, living room, dining room, and other rooms. In the master bedroom was Mitra’s and Vegis’s luggage. There were 2 beds in there, along with a large closet and bathroom. Vegis pulled out a panel and checked the time. 2 days before work will start.
