January 5th, 1919

It snowed very heavily overnight. Thank God that none of the boys had frostbite, only the beginning signs of it. If I were Yuri, I would stay the night at our prior location, especially with all the snow, but he's so very determined to continue on our path. I am afraid that our path will only lead to more lives lost if we do not stop. Two of our boys show signs of exhaustion already. These two would be Daniel and Louis. I am more worried about the former than I am Daniel. There have been several times today that Louis has had to lean on me to walk.

I had to bring up my concerns, "Yuri, Louis doesn't look good at all. I'm afraid we'll have to carry him soon."

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"What does he have?" Yuri questioned, "Is he sick?"

"Exhaustion," I told him. All Yuri did was nod.

"We can't stop now. We have to keep going. There are too many lives depending on us."

Yuri is right. When it comes down to it, Yuri is the best leader of us all. He cuts his losses and continues on. I cannot do as such. He is perfect for our leader. I am the medic. I cannot help. Now, we must continue on like he is. We can just carry Louis. He should be fine, however, I am dearly worried for my countryman. We have settled down and now he doesn't look too good. I can't be the only person in this unit that speaks French as a first language, and we cannot lose another man.
