Year 79 - four months after the evolution

  After a good nap... that had lasted over a month...

  Isaac was ready.

  However, before leaving for the plains, he needed to review his new skills.

  Isaac had sat down and started looking them over.

  ‘I should do this more,’ he said to him self, scratching his head.

  It wasn’t that he didn't want to understand them, but...

  ‘They'll feel so natural.’

  It was an inborn talent, and now, as a Dragon of True Flame, it was very much so.

  The fire he controlled and made him self much more so. But the fire, whether started by others or by him, was straightforward to control.

  All of the skills had their own addition to add to his nature as a Dragon of True Flame, and the skills from his evolution still gave them bonuses.

  But the list was starting to get really long... could he combine skills? They were just balls of mana in his core after all.

  It was something he needed to look into.

  His current task was to test his new fire.

  His new race, Dragon of True Flame, gave him the ability True Draconic Fire, and so far, the fire was unreasonably good.

  The red and white flame could cook almost anything within seconds; the only ones that seemed to resist it were the worms, but that was another matter entirely.

  It was generally easy to control the flames now. As he sat on the stone plateau where his cave entrance was located, fire danced around him, the practice becoming increasingly relaxing.

  The new skills, Fire Manipulation and Fire Control, allowed him to precisely direct the fire's shape, movement, and intensity.

  Additionally, his older skill Arcane Focus sharpened his mental concentration, enhancing his ability to maintain attention in combat when focus was most crucial.

  Mana Control and Mana Perception improved his ability to manipulate and sense all types of mana. It was a remnant of his Arcane Dragon nature.

  Some skills, such as Evasion, had been acquired through repeated training. The more he fought, the more his skill actively enhanced his ability to dodge and outmaneuver opponents.

  It was different from most of his other skills.

  He counted, quit, and put his claws on it...

  The newest skill, or evolved skills. were some of the most significant changes... Bite of a Dragon had, for one, made his bite more than twice as powerful. That, and it made all the food he ate... more nourishing. ‘Really useful when it comes to filling that Dragon's nourishment.’

  Most exciting to him was his new identity, True Fire Marked Claws. This skill permanently enhanced the sharpness and durability of his claws, but its true strength was in channeling True Draconic Fire through them, combining their powers for greater impact.

  And now that his evolution was complete, the control problem was essentially nonexistent.

  Walking around, Isaac was currently testing his skills at once. The channeling of True Draconic Fire and True Fire Marked claws was channeling; it was powerful. The fire around him spun like a small tornado of fire. Red and white, and the best part...

  He could walk around while it was going on.

  He was a walking, talking fire.... nado.

  Controlling individual motes of mana, especially fire motes, became effortless due to the synergy between his skills, which further improved his precision.

  Standing up, Isaac focused. The fire around him moved as he moved, the white and red flames moving as he did.

  Each skill helping in its own way.

  Now he had a weapon that needed testing out.

  Isaac looked down the mountainside.

  Surely there would be some worms down there?

  The world burned under Isaac's new fire.

  And the worms died in the dozens.

  The first worms he had met had again had that natura constitution of not dying when they should.

  ‘Their new blood bad mojo seems to give them a last-ditch fighting spirit, even if their wound should have killed them outright,’ he reasoned.

  ‘Except head loss,’ that he had tested out him self.

  But it seemed that the fire nado was a success. The sun like fire, was blazing enough to turn any of the smaller worms to ash before they got to him.

  There were more worms than he had seen in the desert, but they were a nice way to level his new skills.

  The changes were many, and with each fire nado, he gained more control, making it easier to increase its scale.

  As he walked down his mountain, Isaac realized that the Hunter worms that had attacked him at his lair were only after him.

  And that made him realize that the worms were kind of intelligent.... too intelligent to be mere monsters...

  They were planning and... conquering the region.

  Aaa hell no!!

  Isaac could feel his nature as a dragon bristle at the mere notion of something taking his mountain...

  Something had obviously changed in the desert since he had last been there.

  So to the desert it was...

  But first the plains.

  ‘Speaking of the devil, ’ he had reached the plains.

  It was bad.

  The worms had done it way worse down here than on his mountain. There were hundreds, if not thousands, of worms all over the place.

  The surrounding plains, once fields of Whip Tail’s, were now a feeding ground for worms, with all dead carcasses lying there in a rotting field.

  Most of the worms were small... Smaller than the ones he had ever seen, actually...

  Taking a second glance, Isaac realized something. The worms had used the dead bodies of the whip tail as a breeding ground for their young.

  It was now that Isaac could smell the worms' deed.

  He almost threw up there and then.

  ‘... I'm so happy that I can fly right now.' The smell was worse than Isaac could have imagined.

  And so was what the worms had done.

  Luckily for him, there were only a few bigger normal worms around...

  It seemed that the plains would need to be cleaned in True Draconic Fire.
