The Feeling Of Someone Familiar

The university was loud, busy and completely normal.

Students rushed between classes, complaining about assignments, laughing with friends or staring at their phones while walking.

To everyone else, it was just another day.

But for Lingling, something felt strange.

She sat in the lecture hall, her notebook open, pen frozen above the page.

She couldn't focus on the professor’s voice. Her chest felt tight, like a memory was trying to surface but couldn't.

Why do I feel like I forgot something important?

She shook her head and forced herself to write.

Beside her, Mei leaned over and whispered,

“Are you even listening to the lecture?”

  Lingling sighed.

“I’m trying. My brain just refuses to cooperate today.”

  Mei smiled softly.

“That’s because you stayed up watching dramas again.”

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“That is not the issue,” Lingling whispered back.

“The issue is that the main lead was too handsome to ignore.”

  Mei rolled her eyes.

“You say that about every drama.”

On the other side of campus, Jun sat at the back of his class, staring at the window.

  He wasn’t listening either.

  He had felt it too.

  A strange pull.

A tightness in his chest, like someone important was nearby.

Beside him, Ren nudged his shoulder.

“Earth to Jun. You’ve been staring outside for ten minutes. Planning to fly away or something?”

  Jun blinked.

  “What? No.”

  Ren smirked.

“You look like you just remembered your tragic past life.”

  Jun frowned slightly.

  “It… kinda felt like that.”

  Ren laughed.

“Sure. Next you’ll tell me you were a warrior or something.”

  Jun didn’t answer.

For some reason, that idea didn’t feel like a joke.

Meanwhile, Lingling gathered her things and left the lecture hall with Mei.

They walked side by side, talking about assignments and weekend plans.

At the same time, Jun and Ren came from the opposite direction, arguing about which cafeteria food was the worst.

“Definitely the noodles,” Ren said. “They taste like sadness.”

“That’s because you add too much chilli,” Jun replied.

“And you add none,” Ren said. “I add flavour, not pain.”

  And then....

  They crossed paths

  Lingling looked up first.

  Her eyes met Jun’s.

For a moment, everything felt strangely quiet.

  Her heart skipped.

Why does he feels sooo.... Familiar?

  Jun felt it too.

A sudden warmth in his chest.

A strange echo, like a memory just out of reach.

  Neither of them spoke.

They just walked past each other.

Like an old story beginning again

Far away in a tall buliding at the edge of the city, a dark suit stared at a glowing screen

  Energy readings flickered across it

  Two signals had just appeared

  After being silent for years

  He smiles faintly

"The Phoenix... And the Fox", he murmured "So they've awakend again"

Behind, the symbol of the abyss court glowed faintly in the shadow .
