Chapter 17 : The Legacy

  Chapter 17 : The Legacy

  "Aaahhh!!"

Ragna released his pent up frustration at once. He dropped to his knees. Everything was finally over.

The motes of red light which were used to be the remaining of the Ape King slowly entered his body. It was warm and refreshing. He felt like every inch of his body was being renewed by the light. The pain in his head was slowly alleviated. Though, he was still exhausted to the extreme.

  Ding!

  Ding!

While he was at it, he also opened the notification screen from before.

Ragna was overwhelmed by the storm of the notification screens. He couldn't help but smile. He wanted to laugh, but he lacked the energy to do so.

Because he had yet to receive all the rewards. He wanted the legacy!

  Give me my legacy!

Ragna slowly walked to the spot where the ape was. He found a shining blood red gem lying on the platform. The gem was smooth and round, it looked like a pearl. It had the word 'one' engraved on its surface.

  Ding!

Right when Ragna grabbed the essence, the ground suddenly shook. At the middle of the platform. an altar suddenly rose from below the ground. It had an archaic aura and it smelled like blood.

He was startled at first, but he quickly recovered and tried to approach the altar. The altar consisted from 4 strange pillars that were surrounding a blood red throne made from bones. Astonishingly, there was a skeleton seated on the throne!

The skeleton had a majestic aura. It wasn't wearing anything but a blood red gloves. It was apparent that the gloves weren't something ordinary. It was able to preserve for all these years, unlike other equipment the skeleton once had.

Ragna slowly walked toward the throne. Right when he was in front of it, he clasped his hand while bowing down. Suddenly, the archaic voice sounded again.

  "Kneel!"

Ragna couldn't resist the pressure behind the word. He quickly dropped to his knees and kneeled. When he looked up, everything seemed.. different!

He wasn't at the strange altar inside a temple. Instead, he was inside a palace. The palace was grand, but it didn't seem like a castle.. it was more like a sect. There was no skeleton in front of him. The skeleton turned into a handsome man!

The man was in his late 30s. He had a majestic aura and dignified bearing. There was no smell of blood coming from him. But, he gave an impression of being able to unleash all the scent of blood and murderous aura contained within him.

He wore a blood red battle robe, and in his hands were the very same blood red gloves he saw previously. Except that, it was now radiating a mysterious pressure which seemingly capable of destroying the heaven itself.

  Suddenly, the man spoke.

"Welcome... The one who passed my trial!"

Ragna couldn't help but tremble when he heard the voice. It was overbearing and grand at the same time!

"I am the Blood Master from the Ancient times. I have been waiting for countless years before finding someone to inherit my legacy. Of course, this isn't the real me. This is just a strand of my will. My real body had died.. long ago" The Blood Master's eyes shown a hint of sadness.

"I.. have lost the great war against injustice. They destroyed the very meaning of justice itself! After winning the war, they slowly brainwashed everyone. They branded a new concept of justice inside people's mind"

The man shook his head and continued "... A long time ago, there was no concept of goodness and evil. Everyone had their own belief. Even though sometimes conflict may occur.. everyone lived their life in peace and freedom".

"I once had the power to destroy the heaven and earth. Alas, I couldn't stand a chance when faced by their cruel and evil ways of fighting. I fell into their trap and lost the fight.." The man clenched his fist.

Then, he looked at Ragna solemnly "The one who passed my trial... Are you willing to inherit my legacy? My vengeance?"

Before Ragna could open his mouth, the scenery changed again. He was back to the strange altar inside the temple. It was at this moment, the archaic voice resounded again.

"If you are willing.. take the Blood Gloves! Inherit my power! Carry my revenge!"

The skeleton crumbled and turned into dust. Red light swirled around it, carrying the Blood Gloves right into Ragna's side. It hovered in midair right in front of him.

  Ding!

Raka didn't even hesitate. He wanted the power! As for the matter regarding revenge, he was sure that the Blood Master wasn't an evil person. Even if he had to kill someone, he was sure that it was well deserved.

Though, he was slightly disappointed when he saw that the class was a mage. Luckily, his stats were all rounded. His only regret was that his Mana Strike wouldn't be really useful in the future. After using it for a long time, he had grown quite attached to it.

'Maybe I could fight my way as a dual fighter', he thought jokingly.

Ragna took the hovering Blood Gloves. It had countless strange runic symbol engraved on its surface. Just one look and he was sure that it was a godly weapon.

Without the slightest hesitation, he quickly wore the gloves.

Ragna had finally entered the path of blood!
