Staring at the slim beauty clad in priestly garb with a staff to her side, his eyes rapidly began to pop open at the sight. Aqua blue eyes, fair skin, and a wide smile as if rainbows, puppies, and kittens were going to explode out of it, I was starting to wonder if this was some kind of twisted joke. Once again, for the umpteeith time, the “Goddess” seemed to giggle at my plight as she seemed to have read my mind.
“You know, traveler, you are the first one not to stare at me with lustful stares. In fact, garnering from your thoughts, you think whoever created this world is playing a cruel joke on you.”
Simply staring daggers at her, I willed myself to think of the worst possible way of killing her at that moment. The only thing I hated more than my normal, complacent life is said life’s privacy being invaded. There is a reason my parents are afraid of entering my room, and it’s not because they think I am looking at a porn magazine with my pants down.
“You know, you can get out of my mind reading hair simply by completing the registration process… right?”
Slapping his forehead with his hand, he lets out a deep sigh. Ignoring the Goddesses following squeals of laughter, he finally spoke for the first time, his voice surprisingly hoarse in tone.
“So… ignoring the fact that you can read my mind anyway, how the hell do I register, or whatever you call it?”
The Goddess simply stares at him for a bit before her lips form into a half-smirk, the portion of her lips not formed into a smirk speaking in a gruff tone, imitating his voice.
“How the hell do I register, or /whatever you call it/? Man, are you stupid, traveler? I know your world gave you a manual and has an instant information network called the ‘Internet’ that allows you to understand at least /this much/.”
I stare at her for a bit before ignoring the fact that an AI inside of a game somehow knows about my world. Instead, I walk right up to her, keeping my face as neutral as possible before standing in front of her. Considering we are pretty much the same height, I am eye level with her before I begin to speak again.
“Look. Alec told me you AI’s or whatever you are called are here to help humans. I didn’t want to be rude, but you're acting like a bitch. And if you don’t know what that is, it’s a female dog. Nothing but yammering and yapping. Now shut your mut and register me.”
The Goddess squints at him, trying to size him up as he speaks in a calm yet neutral tone of voice. Her brows furrow at his interpretation of a dog but she simply shrugs before letting out another laugh. This laugh, however, is mocking in nature before she takes a step back, feeling the hairs on the back of her head stand up as she looks at the boy.
The boy still has the same neutral expression on his face, but a dangerous feeling keeps emitting from him, as if she was staring down a dragon. Killing intent? She was a goddess with supreme power over most of Gaia’s inhabitants yet this young man’s mere stare felt as if she was going to have a life or death battle; nothing like what she felt the first time she teased him.
Quickly cycling through some blue screens in front of her face, she simply thought of selecting one of them before the screens disappeared in a white light. Once she was done, the boy in front of her disappeared just the same as her screens. Dropping down to the floor and letting out a pent up breath, she finally realized she couldn’t move her body; the only way she was able to teleport him away with default settings was through her supreme mind capabilities. Her body, however, could not keep up as that stare pierced through her very heart.
Shaking herself up and brushing off her clothing, she stared off into the distance, locking the boy’s details away in her databanks for further review as she flew off with the wave of her staff.
*****************************************************************************************************************
Staring at the screen as he got suddenly transported in the middle of fountain square of a city, he let out his own pent up sigh of relief.
“Finally that hag got done with making fun of me and just got on with bringing me into the game. Gaia’s Blessing? Fuck, I have to find a church to remove this shitty blessing. Its probably a blessing that lets her spy on me while I am naked and tell her Goddess girlfriends how funny my junk looks.”
Mumbling only to himself at the moment, he hops out of the fountain he teleported right on top of before shaking his clothes and hair around, letting drops of water fall everywhere and hitting a few pedestrians walking past. Ignoring their jeering and hateful glances, he swipes the blue screen out of his face and thinks of how he even knows he has a blessing in the first place.
Right on cue, a blue screen half the size of his body appears a few centimeters across from his face, displaying a bunch of numbers and words.
Staring at the screen for ten minutes, my eyebrow twitches at some “discrepancies” on the status screen. Grinding my teeth together as question after question invades my mind, all of it gets answered with the same, irritating blue screens only with the addition of an annoying pinging noise.
*Ping*
Staring at the screen for a bit, he concentrates on the ability tab before another blue screen invades his personal space.
Smirking as his earlier misfortunes produced such an epic ability, he waved the screen away in favor of the other screens still floating around his face area.
While I read through the title fully, my teeth grind together rapidly while I steady my shaking hands. Besides the gods of this world calling me a fucking retard, they at least had the common courtesy to give me a pick me up as well as knowing what I wanted my name to be in this god forsaken fantasy world. Getting over the anger cursing through my body, I look through the last and most interesting title of them all.
Residents allied with Goddess Gaia… isn’t that fucking everyone!? How much does this game want to take me from behind while twisting my nipples as reassurance that it’s okay to fuck me over? Might as well check this ability out before I punch someone to death. Waving the irritating blue screens away left him with the ability screen.
*Ping*
Before I can even react to the fact that I just got a legendary grade ability, another blue screen appears before me. As it does, I feel the same tingling sensation as the one from the capsule body scan protocol erupt throughout my body. As the sensation continues, I slowly read through the screen.
… Are you fucking kidding me? First, everyone who worships that yapping bitch wants to kill me and now people want to capture, and from the looks of it, rape me repeatedly until they create more of me? What the fuck am I, anyway, that I am special enough to be a legendary species? I have a small clue, but I really do not want to think that I am right about it because if anything, this will make things a lot worse.
*Ping*
Right on cue, the same ear bleeding noise rings through my ears, here to answer all my problems as another blue screen appears in front of my face.
Swiping the screen away once more, I stare at the floor dejectedly. Not only is my guess right, I am now even easier to recognize if I am spotted by someone who’s seen a dragon in human form. I am only saying this now because I wouldn’t get permanent white hair if they didn’t have white hair while in human form. They are beings that can rival gods, from everything I have read and so far seen from these status screens, so obviously they can do something as little as transform themselves into a lesser species. Well, at least I can stare people to death if I really want to kill them. That will surely come in handy one day.
After my contemplating mood wears off, I realize that this is the perfect setup for what I wanted to be in this world. I do not want to be some self righteous hero nor do I want to be a dark avenger. Something in between those lines is preferable and this world has already carved that out for me.
Placing my hands onto the cement slab encasing the water in the fountain, I stare back at my reflection. As the status screens said, I now have golden colored eyes which feel as if they are alive and short white hair that looks silky to the touch. Panicing, I realize I just changed my entire species right in front of all the pedestrians before realizing not a single one of them changed their neutral expressions. Scratching it off as some sort of divine intervention, I thank the blasted dragon gods in my mind for not letting everyone and their mother that my body is now worth an entire kingdom’s worth of gold.
Speaking of gold, I realize that I have no clue how much money I started with nor the supplies that are currently within my reach. The moment I thought of a bag in my mind, another blue screen popped up called “Inventory”.
Looking through it carefully, my supplies included:
Mysterious Book
10 copper coins
Beginner clothing
Wooden sword
Staring at the Mysterious Book for a few moments, another screen appears.
Swiping the screen away in my fury, I smash my open palm into the so called “Inventory” screen and try to pull the book out. To my surprise, I actually pull a pristine looking book out of the screen as it materializes from the screen with white flickers on its edges. Wasting no time at all, I flip open the book and skim through it.
*Ping*
Staring at the book, I whisper under my breath in a soft tone.
“Identify.”
*Ping*
Well, at least this proves that I can use my skills by saying them as well. Oh and, you might think being able to see what I do all the time gives you the last laugh, gods, but this diary proves you are all lazy as hell if you cannot even lift your hand to write in your diary and just wave your divine power over a diary.
The gods seem to not want to respond to that comment, but at least it relieved my anger at my current situation. Sure, it seems like a favorable path, but I am still low level and the gods all seem to want to make fun of him, either intentionally or by accident.
Letting out a sigh, I let my eyes wander as I survey the city once more. The local people seem to be hustling and bustling about as my enhanced vision allows me to see three times farther and in much better detail. Staring off into the distance, I spot the sign that I have been wanting to find before this whole fiasco.
Library of Kingdom Frasco.
Storming off at my top speed, I hold the diary to my armpit as I begin my (mis)adventure.
